Quote:.... Dude. What I'd like to see.
Have the bar chopped at 85% or so, just so it looks "full" and people stop griping about it.
But when you activate something like Frenzy, you get a little animation of the Fury bar sliding left for a second (as if gathering itself), then blasting out the right-hand side into an explosion/throbber accompanied by the sound of something breaking/exploding.
This lets the player know their toon has finally gone over the top/lost his marbles/flipped out/etc (see "It goes to 11" or "Over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND!").
That's beautiful. -
Quote:Isn't that the sole (soul) purpose of the Dark powersets? Suck the life out of many to make one amazing powerful being? :PSoul Drain is easiest for me (another reason I prefer Dark Melee). The Power ups just don't last long enough for me. Rage has a crash, and that gets annoying. The solution for me was to go Dark, and go BIG. Ten or so billion invested does wonders for your recharge. (Course, I had to strip every other toon I got to make one Mega Brute, but welcome to non altitis lol.)

Quote:But considering you suddenly have the defense and capability to pull one off, wouldn't you?I wouldn't even *dream* of using MoG just to not be hit for 5 seconds. That'd be like using Soul Transfer for the untouchability to pull off an AS. Sure, you can use it like that, but that's *not* what the power is for.
Technically, your Elec/Regen/Mu Stalker does, but you chose not to take it. That's what they mean, every Stalker could snag it but not all do. -
I know this is an odd title for the Dominator forum, but rest assured, I'm asking it here for a good reason.
Every once in a while I'll type in a name I suspect will be nowhere near available in-game. And when I do it, the name isn't taken. This time around, I got a diamond in the sand.
Legend Breaker.
Holy crap, right? Well, I made him a Dominator. Plant/Fire, since that seems to be a pretty intense combo according to the forums. Now, I'm a bit of a melee-head. Only one of my 50's (5) isn't a Brute. I'm sitting on the name and a very awesome costume (I threw one together out of random pieces and it turned out to be concentrated awesome).
My big question to you is this:
Should I remain a Plant/Fire and see what this interestingly diverse combination will bring me, or should I go with a dare from the Brute forum and make a Stone/Dark Brute? -
Quote:Rage, Soul Drain, Build Up, AAO, and reds. Every set should have a way to mega-boost your damage. Most sets have Build Up, other sets have longer lasting, situation-reliant boosts.thanks for all the replies
Fury changed since last time i played. cool ,... Brute still feel smash tastic so all is good
But is there any ways to get my own dmg buff over 300% ?besides Insp.
been toying with mids and just cant find a build that will give good dmg buff with out costing me in other areas -
Quote:I should probably point out that I'm not one of the Brute players who obsesses about DPS. I had to deal with that crap in WoW before they made Warriors obsolete for 2 years and I sure as heck won't deal with it here. Some maps are tougher to herd than others. Open door maps for example. Waiting for everything to cluster on top of you also takes time which is significant for DPS. Most of the time you just want to jump in the center of the mob and fire off your AoE's as it's simply the fastest, and Radius is significant for that.
Even if you want to be a herding specialist and not charge in, SD is a great AoE supplement due to AAO and Shield Charge being simply awesome.
That said, I forgot to mention that WM has higher AoE caps in it's attacks than Battle Axe. -
Quote:You're probably not going to JUST use it for an AS.Sadly, it takes 2.57 seconds to say that hello. 3s for Shadow Meld. Using it *just* to get an Assassin Strike off is a bad idea. Better not using AS in that case and saving those powers for when you need to not die rather than merely not get hit.
But given the circumstances I would think that one would jump on the opportunity. -
Quote:Which you can't fit into a MacBook pro.SLI is supported on OSX, but only on Quadro Cards: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvi...i-os,7434.html
Thanks for the info, folks. Blah.
Maybe I can be hopeful and pray we get a mac client update to fix all these @#$%*&^ crashes. -
Quote:Ah.Nothing to be screwed about. Mac Nvidia drivers have zero support for SLI so there is nothing that Paragon Studios can do about it.
If Apple ever decided to implement SLI support then you can push Paragon Studios to get it going for the Mac client.
Well.
... (insert request for mac client update here) -

I'd suspect you'd be wrong, considering he was right and knocked your counterpoints flat even after you did your best to change them.

Quote:Yes, this applies for targeted attacks. But when you come across anything with an Earth Control element, it's game over. :PBecause all of the above CAN annihilate your defense, but its not often that they DO. It's the magical rule of random number generators and proc chances.
Basically, the more def you have, the harder it is to get destroyed by a CDF, because it becomes more difficult to land attacks against you that would start that chain reaction. -
Radius doesn't matter when you're at all good at herding. Besides, don't 90% of your foes cluster up on you after you open with Shield Charge? Furthermore, don't you want everything clustered on you for maximum Against All Odds return?

Quote:But is every single stealth IO on the market currently listed as equal to or greater than 100 million infamy/influence/information? No. No they're not.You really a piece of work, I mean you started in on this by berating other people on the boards for being wrong and you can't even understand what wrong is.
There isn't a Celerity stealth that has its last sale for less than 40 mil and most are in 100 mil + ranges with some peaking as high as 200 mil. -
I'm really not the person to ask for this, but I can tell you that slotted solid with two level 50 -ToHit IOs it'll give you about 15% -ToHit on anything it's affecting. Couple this with your melee debuffs and you can get upwards of 25%+ -ToHit.
-
Adding two more cents to this thread:
I'd love to see the Crey Scientist setup (I know it's been mentioned), but specifically the full-body medical apron they wear. This is best represented by Nathan Wallace from Repo! The Genetic Opera:
It's essentially the full-front rubber apron coroners/autopsy technicians use to keep from getting coated. -
You should also mention that Carrion Creepers scream in triumph as they kill things.
-
Soul will stack nicely with your strengths. Dark Obliteration is an AoE of the ages, with a -ToHit component. Stack it on top of Darkest Night (best epic power for a brute IMO) you'll find yourself hit even less. I vote Soul.
-
Just to add, I'd love to see some of the NPC faces ported over. Gimme some Luddite facial hair!
Also, can we get Specialist Harrison's hairstyle?

Quote:No.Dark Armor is really set-up to be used with Dark Melee.
You can use other sets, but you'll be hurting on endurance recovery even with physical perfection and conserve power from the epic pools.
No no no no nein nyet negative access denied stop halt nicht never nada.
Dark Armor can be paired with anything if you know what you're doing. Thematically, Dark/Dark is a perfect pair, but other melee sets will provide great benefits as well. SS will provide gobs of ST knockdown until 38, where there's AoE involved. Stone will do the same but with some stuns here and there. Fire will turn up the damage with the DoTs, and Mace will add good stun and solid Smashing damage. Energy will be a single target stun dynamo.
Need I go on? -
Quote:here's the answer your not going to like:
Assassin's Strike is useless for sustained DPS.
If you look through the base stats of each stalker primary you'll find that the average Damage Per Activation for the Assassin attacks is around 46.34 @ level 50. Kinetic Melee is the highest performing strike, with a listed base DPA of 52.07 @ Level 50.
By comparison, among the other stalker sets, aside from 3 sets, the very first attack you can get has a higher DPA that the highest Assassin's Strike. Claws Swipe has a DPA of 50.92 @ level 50, Dual Blades Nimble Slash has a DPA of 45.35, and Spines Barb Swipe racks up an impressively low 20.49 DPA at level 50.
In sustained combat, most of the non Assassin Strike powers have way higher DPA's than the Assassin Strike powers.
Even if you work the recharges on a defense based build, such as Super Reflexes, you'll still have to go through the motions of placating an enemy, or getting into a hidden state, before you can launch Assassin's Strike.
You can, in theory, use the Ninjitsu secondary to drive more opportunities to placate opponents with Smoke Flash, and thus achieve a higher number of possible Assassin Strike's during a fight.
Even then, if you are heavily maxed out on recharges with a fully Purpled out Ninjitsu build, maximum number of LoTG procs, and every other recharge buff you can find, your actual combat DPA, will be at minimum, the animation timing of Placate, positioning for AS, the AS itself, recovery, and so on. You will lose a figurative metric ton of DPS repeating this process.
So no, you haven't mis-read the other threads. The special damage for a successful strike is not going to make up for the DPA lost in actually prepping to launch the attack in the first place.
The only set where I'm not SURE if this is true is the Spines Set. That's also because Spines has 3 AOE powers; Spine Burst, Ripper, and Throw Spines; and one of the design concepts is that you give up straight single target damage in return for a larger amount of soft control. Spine's lack of straight Single Target damage may make the strategy of repeated Assassin's Strikes more efficient for sustained fights. -
As much as this would rock, consider the following:
Demon Summoning/Sonic Resonance.
"RAAAAAAWRGH"
"Snert snort snarffle snurf"
"Roooaaargh"
BLEEEM woobwoobwoobwab
Haaaarh wabwabwabwabble
WUAM WUAM WUAM WUAM Wuam wuam...
SNEEEEEEE breebreebreebrom
NOISIEST COMBINATION EVER.
Not that it wouldn't play well, of course.
