Dark Melee/Invul Epic set
If you have enough debuff with Dark Melee, then I suggest getting more hi-dmg attacks or more defense/buff. I've used Soul and Pyre. One of Soul's best features is a to-hit debuff and another AOE. Pyre has a defense debuff and AOEs with decent dmg. I would pick Soul over Pyre because if they can't hit you, you have more time to take them down.
Soul or Mu I would say. I really like Soul, you can slot the attacks with Siphon Insight for a dirt cheap +3.75% S/L defense, or use them as actual attacks.
Soul will stack nicely with your strengths. Dark Obliteration is an AoE of the ages, with a -ToHit component. Stack it on top of Darkest Night (best epic power for a brute IMO) you'll find yourself hit even less. I vote Soul.

Tempting when you put it that way Nal, especially since I am not slotting for def caps but regen. This could help me ghetto Def when I need it. Any idea what value def it gives?

Got the bruiser to 44 today. He is doing good. All dark powers except taunt, all Invul except unstoppable, Fitness: run, health, stam, and Fighting: kick, tough, weave. Have 3 LOTG +7.5%, and Crushing Impact in smite for another +5 rech. Things are looking good. Once 50 I will drop in at least 3 purple sets, ,to continue my hunt for max recharge. (Works so sweet on this build, cause the end restore power up regular is a godsend, plus heals, etc.)
My question is what set to take Epic. Was gonna take energy mastery, but actually do not desperately need the end. Consensus is Soul Mastery has best attacks, but I already do all dark attacks, sometimes having a different attack type really helps. (although Soul is very thematic with my skull headed Necros!)
pyre mastery does not seem to have high damage attacks, and it is fire, most resisted in the game.
Mu mastery might be the way I go. Any thoughts?
