I'd like to welcome our NA colleagues to our forum, because despite what everyone seems to be thinking, that's actually what happened.
-
I'm finding the new forum much more visually appealing than the old one.
-
What, practically all of them? I'd call that less 'cast off' and more 'jumping ship before it sinks'.
Don't get me wrong, I think CO is getting better as it goes, but it's still repetitive and uninteresting in comparison to COH.
Hopefully they'll learn from CO and actually make Star Trek a better game (in my opinion of course). -
Quote:Surely it's counterproductive on indoor maps?I got my 63 month veteran reward today. I love the Reveal power. All it does is get rid of fog of war on any map, but it saves me a lot of time.
It has a 5 minute recharge and 1.5 second cast time, so you can use it often. You can use it in door missions as well as outdoor areas. If you use it inside a door mission, one application will get rid of the black on the map for every floor of the map. It's not a big thing. It's a nice little helpful tool. Very appropriate for a veteran reward.
*zaps the black out of the Dark Astoria map*
Oh yes, I'll be using it a lot.
"Where have I been? Damn, wish I hadn't used that map power."
Zone maps are a different matter though. -
Quote:Ditto. Except for one very smilie using exception.I dont take any notice to who a person is when i read their posts [if its a serious thread/reply], i take each and every single post as it is . . . . . a nonbiased viewpoint. It doesnt matter if a post is from a new player or a 60+ month veteran with a high rep, if they both are claiming something is certain then they do both have to prove their point regardless.

And, just to keep this fair, here's bushbaby's oldest character dinging 50!

I know there are extra sparks, but I thought the pillar of light was standard when you level?

I started playing on October 28th 2004.
On day 1, I rolled two characters. An energy/energy blaster who has been rerolled so many times, that I've ran out of fingers and toes to count them on and a Rad/Rad Defender named Truth-Bot.
A short while later(*grumbles about the fact that he has 6 months more Vet rewards than me, despite joining later*), my friend Days_ joined the game and rolled a Fire/Forcefield Controller named Bethelemus.
After a few levels, these two paired up and have been inseperable ever since.
Goodness it was slow. They only ever duoed (until recently) and this was pre Containment, pre IO set boosts. We were so slow at levelling and our chronic (currently uncured) altitis kept us from playing these guys as often as we'd have liked.
There was no way they were ever being deleted - they're one of only two characters we've each got the Celebrant badge on (we transferred them over to the EU when COV launched).
So,as I said, it was slow going. We didn't touch them for nearly 2 years. Then, on May 2006, my wife bushbaby started playing and she rolled a fire/fire blaster, who added a much needed touch of damage to proceedings and got us through the late 30s and the 40s.
Earlier today, Days_ and I, got our oldest and dearest characters to 50.
Mixed feelings about the whole thing, but mostly joy and relief. Never thought we'd make it at times!
So, I'd just like to say thank you to Days_ for being himself (ie always plays as a Tank regardless of AT) and thank you to bushbaby for getting us there.
Now Truth-Bot and Beth just need to get bushbaby's fire blaster up to 50 (only 5 more bars to go!)
Some congratulatory pictures.

Right, now to get around to rolling a Dual Blades scrapper at last before TA Corruptors keep from any other character for a good while. -
Quote:Spoilers man. I've been avoiding RTD's unsubtle hints all yearAre you kidding me Zikar? People like you, me and Great Beyond have been cheer leading the Doctor on these boards ever since his unveiling in 05
Such a pity that Matt Smith though is still over a YEAR away from our tellies! Though we still have some time left with David and the Master will soon be back with us at Christmas time so all is well.

Disabled... now if we could just do something about the irrelevant post counts...

Sometimes it's just as bad in this country (Scotland)
There are a couple of towns (or city districts in one case) here where the name doesn't anywhere near match how it's pronounced.
Milngavie - MULL-GUY
&
Strathaven - STRAY-VEN
Even I find this odd.
But yes, spelling is a quirky regional thing. There's the proper English language with the right spelling and then there's the US way of doing things.
But, on the plus side, if you want to violently rant against someone's opinion now, you can completely ignore any points they make and just point and laugh about the extra 'u' in the words.
I wish I were joking. -
Figured it just had to be a matter of time - off you go now and be posty in every... single... thread.
To everyone else in the States: Morning. And if it's not morning, your universal timepiece is obviously stuttering. -
Also unaffected (I renamed my US forum handle (which I only used twice back in 2004) to something like SHJDH*£NJSND just before the forums went down).
Glad to see it's a temporary fix though.
The idea of bloodsports to solve the issue deserves more merit... -
I too joined Twitter - found a heck of a lot of friends from other places there.
Right, that's me (after years swearing I wouldn't) now got an iPhone and joined Twitter...
I have no willpower left now. -

Yes, but only over the other side, which leads me to ponder on this conundrum...
Are we, like, there yet?

Yes! -
See you all on the other side!
