If anyone has any builds for Spines/Regen/Mako--I'd love to see them.
-
Quote:On your Spines/SR what other pools did you take? Did you go with stamina?/Regen is nice on a stalker since you don't need any +hp set bonuses or accolades to cap HP with DP and you can skip resilience and revive and get another travel power, but your going to get hit alot unless you only come out to fight in MoG. I play Spines/SR/Mako and I would prefer the defense to healing.

Yo wut ^?
I haven't run a /regen stalker since i10 and I was just wondering if they are viable in post i13 zone pvp? Anyone out there try running one recently? Also, does the lack of perception gimp you in zone play? -

Quote:I see what you're saying. You were talking about arena and I was thinking zone. And with my Psi/EM and regens--I have had the same exact experience as you have. No, not for zone. for duels, sure they're harder to kill but they certainly didn't get a buff with i13. regen aside, i've been able to kill pretty much any other melee character with ease on my blaster. duel's they aren't *that* good and zone/arena its all about taunt. I left regen out since i haven't been able to kill a decent regen that knows what he/she is doing with said blaster, i usually bust out the therm corr for regen's. But my point is that I can't think of any point where i would rather be on a melee than ranged.

I have an Ill/Therm I used to use for Test PvP. But thermals aren't what they used to be for team pvp, so I recently respeced him into a PvE build/TF beast (with purples and what not). The other day I decided to take him into RV just for kicks. While in RV, this purpled out brute wanted to duel me. Understand that I don't have a travel power besides ninja run and I have no KB protection. We dueled and the brute got wrecked (he was a Fire/WP/GW). Which totally surprised. But with ST and maneuvers + Ice armor + SI + steadfast unique + group invis, the brute could barely land a blow on me (40% s/l def.)--not to mention if he did, I had a quick recharging heal and Hibernoob, which I never even came close to using. All in all, melee toons got seriously buffed in i13 for pvp--but ill/thermal can definitely make them whimper.

Quote:Do you think the hold proc is better than the +range/-end/+recharge for zone/arena pvp? Duels aren't really my thing.i used to use them in all 4 on my psi/em and people would complain about them 1v1 but imo the placate proc alone is plenty annoying. when you switch them out its easier to get better end redux/rech on top of some range too.
its not a bad idea but imo theyre better for something like fire blast or sonic. -
I don't know if these will be all that game changing. But I can tell you this, those things are going to sell for crazy amounts of influence when they first come out and will totally crash in price within a month or two.
-
Thanks Psy, btw, have you ever seen anyone rock 3 of those procs in pvp? I'm torn between slotting those in or going for even more +range.
-
Has anyone tried slotting in Devastation Hold Procs in Tk blast, Ment. Blast, and Psionic Dart for zone pvp? If so, how was it? Does anyone know how long a mag 2 hold lasts for these days anyway?
-
I keep getting conflicting reports from everyone I ask concerning this, so I figured I'd come here for even more confusion
How long does the no phase timer last for in pvp. Is it the same for zone and the arena? What about pve? Does the timer start as soon as the phase/hibernate power is activated or when the person leaves the phased out status?
Thanks. -
Quote:You've got some good info there.well according to the wiki, base raids were centered around stealing an item of power, that was the point of them, in i13 they removed pathing from base design so that you could block doors and stuff with place-able items (as well as overlap items)
i13 also did the base repricing and changed everything to accept invention salvage
i13 was also pvp nerf 2.0
i cant find the posts right now about reasons it was disabled, but i know when i13 was released one of the devs made a comment that they disabled base raids because they also disabled pathing (the tech which prevented poeple from blocking doorways with placeable items, ect) (i think the dev was ghost falcon), i tried searching the dev digest for the post about it, but it looks like it was purged
i know part of the reason they disabled it was because of tech reasons and the other reason was because with no items of power base raids had no real point to exist (base raids were designed with the point to be stealing items of power, no you didnt have to do that, but thats what they were designed for)
heres links to base raid question threads which are also very recent:
raids?
raids?
raids?
when are raids coming back?
I just got a PM from Castle answering the "why they are not back up and running" question and he told me that there were major bugs. He also said there was a leveling exploit associated with base raids which I had never heard of before.
I also asked him if there was anyway they could reactivate base raids with the bugs and he told me "Not in the current state, no." -
Quote:What? A Tar hole fan? I haven't seen any of you guys in like a over a year. I guess being preseason number 4 and not even making the NCAA will thin your numbers some.I've never seen an avatar as ugly and repulsive as yours
. But to answer your question, I have participated, I want it back, and I am willing to voice my opinion.
The rivalry continues even in cyberspace -
Quote:Items of power are nice but they were not the point of base raiding. I did most of my raiding well after the Cathedral of Pain went down. People base raided for the same reason some people in this game kill the same Freakshow tank over and over again and don't get tired of it--they find the event in itself to be worthwhile.
base raids cant just be "reactivated" because there would be no point as items of power are no longer in the game and the whole point of a base raid was to steal and item of power and due to the current coding of bases (they were disabled in i13 because they removed pathing and other code rants)
If you have more data as to why Base Raiding was deactivated, please elaborate--I was out of CoX when they took it down.
Thank you. -
3 questions to the PVP community regarding base raiding:
1) How many of you have actually participated in a base raid?
2) How many of you who have want it back?
3) If you do want it back--would you be willing to voice your opinion to the devs about reactivating base raids in i17 or i18?
Thanks. -
Quote:I wonder how much money NC Soft has lost due to the virtual extermination of the PvP community with i13? Enough to account for Castle's annual salary perhaps? In regards to the OP:
It was estimated that before I13 (don't remember exactly when but I'd say sometime between I11 and I12) that 5% of the game's playerbase PvP'd at least semi-regularly. Given a population of 120,000, that would mean about 6,000 people PvP'd. I'm willing to bet a large chunk of inf that there are now less than 1,000 regular and semi-regular PvPers (probably 200-300 tops). -
Conflict,
In your stamina-less build, do you pick up the leadership pool in its place? -
The other day I got a PVP IO drop from killing one of my buddies in the arena. Since PVP is dead now on Infinity, the ratio for this particular toon was something like 15 PVP kills before my first drop. So I felt pretty lucky to have gotten a drop after only killing 15 or so people.

Quote:Ill/Emp for superior invis maybe? Then again, there's absolutely no reason to play an Emp Defender over a Controller, because the Controller version of Power Boost recharges twice as fast.
Mind/Emp
Ill/Emp
Fire/Emp (maybe?)
Grav/Emp (maybe?)
Do Emps need fitness? -
Which secondary should go with Emp? Which epic?
If you have a pvp arena build, please post it.
Thanks. -
