  1. I didn't say it had to be, I said usually. And I'm right. Fear is a bad reason not to do something. It's how people that are weak act.

I wouldn't mind account transfers if there weren't ANY hackers on the interwebs.

What happens if you get your account stolen and someone figures out your master password, then starts yoinking characters off your account because THEY don't have a level 50 blaster on Triumph?

    -Rachel-

[/ QUOTE ] Well the victim could have picked a better password or protected their computer better. People that get their info stolen usually made a mistake to make their computer vulnerable. They shouldn't be dumb.
  3. socioalchemist, I don't understand your point. What does it matter if everyone will use them or not?
  4. What about things like Battle Maiden and Demon Farm that haven't been nerfed? If they were against it so much, wouldn't they put a stop to it? And if they are against it so much why did they make it so easy to get massive XP and influence in the MA? Can you answer that?

Like the attacks in Chrono Trigger? /signed
  6. /signed. It seems like a reasonable suggestion and you bring up good points.

The fact that we don't need a Vanguard Merit sink isn't really a good point. We don't need a lot of the features we get.

Good grief man, click the edit button. It's right there next to the reply button, its not rocket science.

And no its not a good idea.

    Edit: See, its easy.

Edit2: I can do this all day and not make completely useless posts.

Edit3: Ofcourse doing it this way doesn't boost your post count any.

[/ QUOTE ] You're so clever and witty!!!!!!!

I'm reminded of a joke someone made a while ago; "Peregrine Island sucks and Atlas Park blows. That's why Talos is so windy."

[/ QUOTE ] Don't know who said it first, but I've had BluntTrauma quoted for a couple years now.

Edit: I once started a thread asking which zone sucked worse(because of the broadcast crap), and that was my favorite answer.

This was a bad idea the first time it was posted.

This was a bad idea the last time it was posted.

This is still a bad idea.

It will continue to be a bad idea.

Farming throws off the market. It exploits a very small amount of content with low risk/high reward ratio. It annoys people who don't farm or dislike the idea of it when they get tells asking to farm or pad or bridge.

Farming is not suggested by the Devs. Farming is not a well liked practice and, for that reason, the Devs have consistently altered the way things are handled to -avoid- farming.

Asking the Devs to put something in the game solely for the purpose of farming when they have time and again shown that they don't condone the act is a waste of time. I'll be bookmarking this response to copy-paste to all further farming threads.

    -Rachel-

[/ QUOTE ] I understand your reasoning, but there is no reason to copy-paste it to other threads like this that pop up. The response isn't that good.

    [/ QUOTE ] So what?

I'm thinking(meaning 100% speculation) that something like that is being worked on. It seems so obvious(to me) I would be shocked if we don't get it at some point.

I experienced today, what I take to be a griefer, and it left me with a very hollow feeling.

[/ QUOTE ] That makes sense. If somebody didn't like your mission, they must be a griefer

Perhaps it would help to have the person running a mish actually FINISH it before they can vote.

[/ QUOTE ] No way. It doesn't always take finishing a mission/arc to know that it's not very good.

    Rating Griefing

    [ QUOTE ]
to avoid griefing- the rating should ignore a certain percentage of ratings - the highest and the lowest.

Ignore the top 10% and lowest 10%.

That way if 10% of the people are griefers and rate a great arc a 0, it doesn't count. But if the arc is just bad and most people rate it low - it gets a low rating.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That seems like a reasonable idea. I also think not showing a rating at all until X amount of people have voted would be a good idea. It could help good missions that get an early 1 star from getting lost in the mix.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
but why deny set bonuses to the few people who actually take (and possibly even use) those powers?

[/ QUOTE ] Because those people are different than everybody else. And being different is bad.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Reporting someone because they have a farm published is griefing them and their playstyle

[/ QUOTE ] No it's not. Read the patch notes for issue 14 and stop making stuff up.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
So asking them to let you set spawn sizes larger for farming purposes is a surefire way to get ignored by the Devs (and most of the more notable forum posters) completely.

[/ QUOTE ] While many people are againt the OP's suggestion, I seriously doubt anybody will put him on ignore because of it. Only a tool would do that.

To the OP: /signed. I would like this idea a lot. I don't team usually and I don't like asking people to fill while I go map the mission. This would make my in game life easier.

Sorry but he posted this in his mission thread that I searched out because I was sort of interested in seeing this glorious arc:

    Shameless bump...

Lots of very positive feedback on this arc so far. Had all 5 star ratings until someone decided to grief me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, whatever. People like this are the reason I don't leave comments with low scores. I don't really want you up in my grill playing twenty questions about why I gave you the score I did. Four stars is a solid average and even ignoring the overwhelming bias of running people through your own mission, there's always going to be people that legitimately don't like whatever you do. Use any work of creativity ever made as a testament to that fact.

[/ QUOTE ] Darth_Khasei, it appears I'm not barking up the wrong tree.

Creating a better arc would be what he was loooking to do. Much to his disappointment the people that one starred the arc left no feedback that he could use to "make a better arc".

Arrogance, no the OP was not being arrogant at all.

[/ QUOTE ] I understand what you're saying, but that isn't what the OP said. He was wondering if it was griefing. To think that the reason you get a bad review is somebody griefing is arrogant, IMO.

Just thinking out loud but is there no way to address this sort of behavior?

[/ QUOTE ] For starters you could create a better arc. I mean, how arrogant do you have to be to think the only reason somebody isn't giving you five stars is because they are griefing you? Maybe, just maybe, people have different likes and dislikes.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I agree with the "comment at any time, but only rate if arc completed" idea, hell - even just "only rate if at least the first mission is completed" would do wonders.

[/ QUOTE ] But what about missions that are so bad you don't want to finish? Do those missions not deserve a rating too?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    <QR>

First, sometimes it only takes two minutes for me to decide a mission or arc sucks. First impressions are extremely important. Therefore a quick one star rating does not always equal griefing. Second, if I play the mission/arc enough to decide it sucks and give it a one or two star rating, I don't owe you an explanation. If I'm willing to give an arc that kind of rating, that means I want to get away from it ASAP. I don't owe the author a damn thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In general I agree with Monk's philosophy, but as a creative type myself I have more sympathy for the poor authors.

[/ QUOTE ] I have sympathy for the authors as well(despite not showing it in this thread), but a lot of the comments from this thread seem extremely arrogant to me. Content creators(in this case Mission Architect authors) need to realize that you can't please everybody. The other thing they need to realize that if their arc doesn't stand out, it is probably because it doesn't deserve to.

Truly great arcs will stand out, the rest will be lost in a giant pile of bad, mediocre, and good. Where they belong.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
If you are willing to accept the praise that comes along with a 4-5 star rating, then conversely you need to be able to stomach a few 1-2 ratings that may not include any supporting comments.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am sorry but I don't understand what this has to do with this thread.

[/ QUOTE ] Really? People are crying about bad ratings. They need to get over themselves and realize that maybe their story isn't that great.
