My claws/elec considers it a buff! At least that is the thinking now, we'll see once I plan it out in Mid's.

Quote:Apps are a waste for CoH/CoV/GR. If you must make an app, why not for something useful? Like badge tracking, Giant Monster slayings, what server your friends are on etc. But like I said, it's a waste.
I would rather see something like that to be honest. But that sounds like the City Vault website(or whatever it was to be called) that got put on hold or canceled. -

Lol the term "freedumb" is typically only used by ignorant people that have no clue what they are talking about or people jealous and bitter because they think their server is "dead" when in reality it's not.

Quote:The fact that we don't need it isn't really relevant. There are plenty of things that have been added of the years that we don't need. This is not WoW. Auctions in this game do not expire. Nor does the money received from auctions expire in any way. We don't need to be able to keep track of such things while not ingame. Incidentally I'd argue WoW players don't either and it's just Blizzard seeing an opportunity to gouge some more money out of their players and taking it, but that's neither here nor there. Point is, we don't need it. Most of us quite probably don't want it and a sizable number of us would never find a use for it if it was implemented.
Time could be better spent elsewhere. New content, revamping old content so it doesn't look so dated... hell they could have another go at making pvp not horribly imbalanced, and I'd get more use out of that than I would out of this despite that I never pvp ever.
I would find it useful and I would use it so I'm all for this idea. -
Quote:I'm not saying you're wrong, because I have no idea. But is this just a guess or is there some data to back that up?$3 million USD sales revenue just for one quarter. As I mentioned above, that's about what salary is for the year. The first quarter probably paid for non-salary operating expenses, making quarters 3 & 4 all profit.
Even if it is just a guess it is a reasonable conclusion that the game still makes money, otherwise NCSoft wouldn't keep investing in it. -
I'll probably move a couple characters off Freedom to store them on some server like Pinnacle or Champion that I don't have a use for. That way I have room for more characters on Freedom.

This makes sense, I thought Raptor Pack was pretty damn fast when I checked it on beta server.

Of all the proposed changes, I like this one the least. The strong taunt aura of AAO is one of my favorite things about the set and I would be a sad munki if it were changed.

Quote:Didn't you hear? The devs hate heroes.wtf?
Okay, correct me if I misunderstand this: Villains will be able to get access to both APP's and PPP's. But Heroes will only be able to access APP's.
(Because, in order to get access to PPP's you have to get the appropriate badge, which you can only get by becoming a villain.)
Obviously some strange, new definition of "parity" that I've been previously unaware of. -
Yes, but it can still be really expensive.

Which is exactly why safe harbors were put into such things as the DMCA. To make sure the proper parties are held liable for infringements.

I'm all for this idea. /signed a thousand times. I would love to be able to do market stuff while I'm stuck at work.

Quote:Another probable reason is because their case had no actual merits. Section 230 safe harbors should protect NC Soft in this case(at least in the U.S.).hmm.... Are you being sarcastic or did you just choose an ironic example by accident? One of the reasons Marvel was quick to settle the case was that their representatives (not sure if it was employees or lawyers) did EXACTLY what you describe - creating Marvel's characters in the game to 'demonstrate' infringement.

That was my point, but Umbral said it a lot better than I did.

I consider Shield Charge damn good mitigation.
