Another problem with getting rid of the war walls is that most of the zones don't actually fit together the way the overall map shows. The best example of this is Terra Volta. The zone is bigger than the wall surrounded spot it takes up in IP. So removing the war walls wouldn't be just a technical fix, it would require a lot of artistic work to turn Paragon into a single continuous map.

Quote:I don't think there are a lot of 'stand there and get pummeled' missions, but there is one in Doctor Steffard's arc where you are to meet someone at the back of the map. After you talk to her there are TONS of ghouls that ambush in waves. There are a couple npcs that will help you fight if you stay in the back, but they won't move very far from their spawn points so drawing back means you lose their help. The waves are timed spawns (with very little time between) and start with aggro on you meaning so the only way you CAN draw back is to leave the map. If you do that all the ghouls will, when you come back, be clustered at the far end of the room from the npc helpers. It really is hella hard to get through that one without dying (possibly multilple times) as a squishy.Sorry but I don't recall any "stand there and get pummeled" missions. I've always had the option of breaking off, falling back (even if it means exiting the mission), healing up, and returning to pick off another 1, 2, or 3 opponents. Repeat the process until finished. Sure it takes longer but that's called tactics and strategy. You don't play a corrupter like a tank or brute and stand there mashing buttons.
Edit: Yes, you can run in, kill a ghoul or two, and run back out. But there will be up to a dozen (i think) of them clustered together. That's a whole lot of running in and out.
Edit Edit: I actually like that there is some difficulty to many praetorian missions. But for a new player or someone coming back after a long break (and used to the old low level missions) they can make for a pretty steep learning curve. -
Hmmm.....five Radiation Emissions......that's some really accelerated metabolism.

Correct, it isn't a universal thing. I had only one character affected by this out of a number that could have been.

Quote:How about "The Spare Parts"?Dear Team,
We need a name and a theme. If you leave it up to me we will be named something bad. I named my last team FAP. Suggestions Go!!!
Love,
Philly
Edit: We should probably have ourselves a little meeting to discuss who's doing which AT's and power choices. -

I'll give it a shot. I'd prefer to come on my earth/rad controller, but I can bring a tanker, scrapper, or mastermind depending on need.

Quote:I wouldn't count on Praetoria being very active on any server. People who have already done alll the arcs there are unlikely to start another character there. It's not just the difficulty either, Praetorians can't join Super Groups until they become a hero or villain. They also can't participate in the Death From Below trial which is now the standard way to power level lowbies.I've been playing on Victory, since that's the server I started out on back at launch, and I can't say I've run across any other player in any of the Praetoria zones since I started working this toon. I have earned a few character transfer tokens from my prior paid time, though, so I'll probably look into moving a few toons to a higher-traffic server fairly soon.

PS On Victory you'll want to join the channels Victory Badges and Victory Forum. Most of the chatter and team forming are done there. -
Quote:Which of them would be Avon? The entire current Freedom Phalanx.
Not that I have anything against any of them personally, but for an arc called 'Who Will Die?', anything less than the full Blakes 7 ending just won't satisfy.
As to who I'd kill off:
Willy Wheeler. His arc requires my character to be as big an idiot as he is. Any villain with sense would through him off the ledge before completing his first mission.
Captain Mako. OK, so he's tough and nasty. That would make him a good lackey for another villain, but he's just not bright enough to be a major leader in Arachnos. Maybe I wouldn't kill him, but I would demote him. -
In addition for Praetoria being harder, thermal radiation is a very team oriented set with warmth being the only power early on that's useful to a solo'er (Masterminds excluded.) And given the relative difficulty of Praetoria it can be fairly hard to find groups as most people don't start characters there after running through it a few times for the story (if that.)

And you can buy him toys that make annoying noises. He'll love them and the noise will drive his parents (more) insane. It's just one of those little things that makes being an uncle great.

I'll ad my condolences to the growing pile. Take care man.

Maybe freemiums would be willing to watch ads, but the day I'm forced to watch an ad on my VIP account is the day I cancel it.

A purely physical judgement shouldn't be just pounding the ground. It should involve picking up a targetted enemy by his ankles, then rapidly spinning in a circle to do PBAOE damage by using him to hit the other mobs.

I have to agree with everything here except the not receiving promotional e-mails. Not that the system isn't totally screwed up (sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't), it just doesn't bother me much since I read the forums too much and find out about things anyway.
But the Paragon Market problems (both the delivery of points and the lack of information on prior purposes) are really grinding my gears. I'd actually call this one more than a minor annoyance.
Another thing that bugs me is that all the incarnate content (at least so far) is clearly written from a hero perspective. Yes, I know that some people say the villains are just doing it to fight off a greater evil, but that just doesn't cut it as villain motivation. Of course, villains (player run ones that is) have never had particularly good story motivators. Why the hell should I care if Willy Wheeler needs help?
On the flip side of that the original content hero side definitely needs some trimming. Most of the missions outside of the arcs could be removed and no one would miss them (some of the arcs could use some trimming too for that matter), especially the street hunt ones. Radio and tip missions have made the old filler content obsolete. -
Maybe he's switching to the George R. R. Martin method.

Glermo: You'll have all the Slurm you can drink when you're partying with Slurms McKenzie!
Fry: When will that be?
Glermo: Soon enough.
Fry: That's not soon enough! -
