Interdimensional Total War!
BLARGH! -
I was thinking it might be nifty to start expanding the powersets. Throw in new powers for the current Primaries and Secondaries, make them approach being as wide and varied as the EATs...
But then, that's me going slightly mad, so I don't have my heart too set on it. -
I like this idea! It would be extremely useful for places like Independence Port and Steel Canyon. Frankly, I'm surprised we haven't had Teleportation Pods installed (Duck Dodgers, in the 24th and a Half CENTUREEEEEEE!).
Independence Port, the place is FRACKING LONG from North to South. Even with travel powers, you may as well just hit "R" and go get yourself something to drink. You'll probably be halfway to your destination by the time you get back.
Steel Canyon, while not quite as long as Independence Port, has pretty much everything on opposite ends of the place save the AE and the trainer. And oftentimes, the mission you need to get to will usually be on the opposite side of the map of the train you used to get to the zone.
Sure, places like Talos Island won't see TOO much use in this system, what with almost everything being centralized (though getting from the train to Dark Astoria quickly will be a nice option), but it will make the grind of the lower levels before Travel Powers (such as those early missions that have you running from one side of Atlas Park and Galaxy City to the other).
The argument that our travel powers are supposed to be faster than public transportation is kind of bunk in this game. I mean, we can't have a Batmobile, Blackbird or Quinjet; we have to use the Metro to get from zone to zone or hoof it ourselves (in which case, the train is the quicker, more efficient option in most cases). -

I have a tanker, a scrapper, an empathy defender, a warshade or a blaster to round out that last spot, Ny.
Technically, it's two tankers, but I can only play one. -

GM_Janlee: This is GM Janlee how can I help you?
Player: I think I broke the game.
GM_Janlee: That's impossible a player can not break this game.
Player: Well how come the zone just exploded?
GM_Janlee:The game zones are designed to take a heavy load it is not possible for them to crash. What were you doing before the zone crash?
Player: I fired off a Warburg rocket.
GM_Janlee: One Warburg missle will NOT cause the zone to crash.
Player: It just wasn't me. There were others.
GM_Janlee: How many rockets were fired?
Player: Hard to say, but I would guess about 60.
GM_Janlee: What kind of sicko are you?

6. If you were in prison and were about to be executed, what would your final meal be?
Doesn't seem to matter a lot. I'm not going to enjoy it for long.

This is why I said "beans, and lots of 'em." I will have them bring beans in by the bucketload. I would torture myself as I push the limits of my belly. When I'm ready to go, I'll tell them I'm ready to go see Sparky or Pricky or whatever the Death Du Jour is, so that when I'm gone, I'll void like no one has voided before... -
Stargeek, I expected your answer to Number 6 to be:
"Jennifer Love Hewitt, Keira Knightley, and Elisa Dushku"

I've been watching the thread go with marked distress. I just haven't said anything because, well, I don't see what there really is to say.
This is a social conflict, not a civil matter or a felony. There's nobody to provide a real authority on what is or isn't right. General consensus says that your particular topics of discussion were considered rude and vulgar, and I was just as annoyed as many other posters here, but that's hardly a reason to disappear.
Ultimately, the decision is yours, PK. It's been fun having you here and I hope you have fun in your future endeavors.
"Have a good one," as they say in my family.
If it means anything, PK, I voted "stay."
Reasons? Don't really have any. I don't see why you should go over an argument, though.
Take care. -
1. What's your favorite color?
BLUE!
2. What is your very favorite song of all time?
Pride by SoiL.
3. What is your very favorite movie of all time?
If it's one that I feel has left a lasting impression on me, it's Revolver, directed by Guy Ritchie, starring Jason Statham, Andre Benjamin and Ray Liotta. The rest... The rest the movies I've have gotten diluted over time.
4. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what THREE things would you take with you?
Knife, Flint, 200' Rope.
5. If you could own any kind of car, what would it be?
Gotta be a Rolls-Royce.
6. If you were in prison and were about to be executed, what would your final meal be?
Beans. Lots of beans.
7. If you could have dinner with three people, living or dead, who would they be?
My oldest brother (deceased), Jesus Christ (to ask him if the current incarnation of the faith matches up with his intentions; though I doubt he'd understand me) and my family's progenitor to find out who he was before changing his name to [Grey] once he landed in the colonies.
8. If you could do any profession, what would it be?
Actor
9. If you could change ONE thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I were more assertive.
10. Cats or dogs?
Cats.
11. What is your favorite sport and why?
Basketball. I'm not good at it, but everybody's always moving, anybody can be worth something and it's a crazy sense of ordered chaos. Hockey and Football/Soccer come in close second and third for the same reason.
12. If you had your choice between staying home watching TV, going to the movies or going to a professional sporting event, which would you choose?
Movie, if it were a good one.
13. If you could be ANYBODY in the world, who would you be and why?
Christian Bale. I think it's pretty obvious at the moment, but for historical purposes, because he's the current kind of actor every actor wants to be: fit, physically attractive and falling [butt]-backwards into the roles. I'd probably work on my voice acting if I were him, though. His voice definitely needs range. -
Wow... I've done the 24-33 Respec so many times...
But it's been a while since the last time. I wouldn't mind doing it again...
I could probably provide an upper 20s or low 30s to help. -
Happy birthday, Rasta! May your day be filled with...
Um...
Well, you know... -
I like Back Alley Brawler and Blue Steel on the Heroside. A working class hero is something to be!
On the Redside, I'm partial to Scirocco and Barracuda. Both seem like they're somewhat out of place in a world teeming with monsters who simply want power for the sake of it. Scirocco's trying to make some good with his power (albeit in entirely the wrong way) and Barracuda seems to be largely searching for purpose in her new life.
Even when Barracuda's trying to kick the crap out of me, I can't help but feel pity for her. -

Arc Name:Defending the Homeland
Arc ID: 231681
Morality:Villainous
Faction: Longbow, Wyvern, P.P.D.
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Mr Grey/Mr_Grey
Difficulty Level: High
Synopsis: Vigilantes are coming to the Isles, like always, and Arbiter Lukas is sick and tired of it. He hires you to get rid of them, but it seems somebody is making things difficult...
Estimated Time to Play: Long, 30 minutes to 1 hour
I retooled this one from what it was. The Private Meta Human Company is gone now, replaced by a series of missions that pit your villain against heroes that Longbow, Wyvern and the Paragon Police Department have hired.
This mission is also something of an experiment, to see whether or not NPCs need to be Elite Bosses or Arch Villains in order to be decent challenges.
The verdict?
I took my EB Killer in to test this thing. He almost bit the floor five or six times on the bosses who aren't supposed to be challenges... Well, they're not supposed to be, but they have their own little quirks...
I guess I'll leave the rest up to you guys.
I'm much happier with how this version turned out as opposed to the old one. In the old one, with how much space the PMC took up, the story turned really generic and was just SO bland as compared to the potential for plot as displayed in the first mission... In fact, the first mission in this one is the exact same as in the original.
I have crammed into this...
1st Mission: 1 Stone/FF Controller (Mr. Waki)
1 Lightning/Storm Defender (Alexis Gale)
1 Broadsword/Regen Scrapper (Cirrus Skirmish)
1 Assault Rifle/Electricity Manipulation Blaster (Solid Shot, on loan from Khellendrosiic)
All backed by Longbow
2nd Mission: 1 Illusion/Radiation Emission Controller (A Wizard Named H)
1 Broadsword/Shield Scrapper (Mrr-Hrr)
1 Archery/Trick Arrow Blaster/Defender (Grayshot)
((These guys are inspired by the story elements of another game.))
All backed by Wyvern
3rd Mission: 1 Super Strength/Stone Armor Tanker who's holding back (Randall Grey)
Subsequent attacks from previous heroes: Alexis Gale, Cirrus Skirmish, Mrr-Hrr and Grayshot
All backed by P.P.D., some Boss spawns have Longbow attachments
4th Mission: 1 Energy Melee/Energy Aura Brute Extreme Difficulty (Power Breaker)
Subsequent attack by a very ticked off, no longer holding back Mr. Grey
All backed by Longbow
As mentioned before, all enemies are Boss level. There's a bit of an issue with the second mission, where Wyvern maxes out at level 30 (so, of course, your character winds up at level 30). I would have switched them out, but frankly, they just fit that particular scene so well. Hopefully, when I-15 comes out, enemies will scale up as advertised (I haven't been in to test the capability) so this will stop being a problem. -
Aw.
Sometimes, I worry I'm not looking at situations with the sort of urgency I really should...
This happens to be one of those times. -
I deleted all of my old arcs some time ago and hadn't looked at making a new AE arc for some time. This isn't because I dislike the Architect Entertainment. I just couldn't think of anything to make until recently.
Arc Name:The Secret of Nemesis Gas
Arc ID: 416665
Morality:Villainous
Faction: Nemesis, Rikti
Creator Global/Forum Name: @Mr Grey/Mr_Grey
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Synopsis: The Nemesis Army has shells that have a sickly, corrosive gas. It's been wondered where this gas comes from. Today, you shall learn the secret.
Made for humor and my first foray into the latest incarnation of Architect Entertainment.
Finally I feel like I've made something I can just be happy with. -
You think THAT'S bad, Zek?
Imagine the Ice blasters throwing yellow ice at enemies...
Or the Ice Tanks with Yellow Ice Armor.
And it's worrying to think what those Energy Blast characters who say their powers are "water" will be throwing when they make their powers yellow... -
And this is the basic definition of a "Mary Sue" Arc.
With the damage modifiers and available powers for the Custom NPCs, they're going to hit harder and withstand more than, well, Statesman at the end of Hero's Hero. -

Dang! I knew I'd forgot something!
I guess when I showed up wearing a hooded robe and carrying a gnarled staff, they got the wrong idea...
*gets wrong ideas*
YARG! That's going to replace the demon in my nightmares! -
Oddly enough, I know what you mean, Samson.
I had something happen to me in-game and I was playing my Peacebringer.
The PUG team I was on (and no, not a Horror Story PUG team, it was quite capable) wound up having to deal with a Cyst. Since I was the PB, I decided I should go deal with it.
Insp Drop and close-in later, I'm wailing away at the crystal, just chiseling its health. The Unbound Nicti aren't damaging me (couple Tier 2 Oranges in that Insp Drop), but they've got me slowed right down to a crawl. The Inspirations are about to wear out and I'm out of attacks.
So, I pop open my powers list and see if I've got Brawl or something to hit it...
There it was in Temporary Powers: Shotgun!
I slapped it in my tray and clicked. My PB drew her shotgun, pressed it against the side of the Cyst and squeezed the trigger.
BOOM!
The Cyst exploded and the Nicti went flying, tumbling to the other side of the Veil.
Single greatest moment I've ever done personally in this game, and I'm scat-scared I'll lose the shotgun on that character and never get it back, so I'm never using it!
Now, the idea is that the Shotgun will NEVER go awayI want a power pool that would give me ready access to stuff like this.
Or make them into regular Invention Recipes... Whichever's easier -
Frankly, the idea of restricting MA to people who've done a certain batch of missions/events would be unnecessarily complicating things.
Frankly, we need to open up the playerbase. Everybody's getting insular and isolated within their circles, and then there are the AE Farms snatching up all the new players or the fed up players who just want to cram their characters to 50 ASAP. Sure, getting to 50 isn't the goal of the game, but for a lot of these players, that's where they BEGIN.
*shudder*
It hurts to play Devil's Advocate on that issue, because I haven't really ventured into the AE since the third week after I-14. I've been preferring the normal arcs and the rewards to be gleaned there.
Augh! I've started getting involved in Suggestion debates again!
Oh man... This is when the hurting starts...
