Quote:So do you not slot Fast Healing at all then?I would strongly advise *against* +regen, as the rewards are minimal. My tank with just over 3200 hp gains little more than 1hp/sec from the various regen set bonuses. Considering everything else (capped defences, regen of 100hp/sec with 1 enemy nearby anyway), this is essentially meaningless. +regen as side benefits; sure. But as a focus, please don't, you'll really waste your time.

Quote:Well we can always hope it will be in the next update.People have been suggesting email/offline SG invites pretty much since Day One.
I'll bet this has always been in the top ten most wanted things since the beginning of the game.
Why we don't have it yet continues to amaze me...
Now that the code is in place to email people things like INF and recipes it would seem like the ability to email an SG invite to another character would be almost trivial.
/signed as always. -
I gave up on Bendis after Decimation, cancled my saves at my local comic shop and have been happily reading Secret Six ever since. I've got no idea who is even buying the Avengers anymore....well except for Kasoh obviously.

I don't have a level 50 character yet but this makes sense to me. I hate the idea of not having the option to 6 slot a power, however with Incarnate content just around the corner I think it would be better wait and see at this point. For all we know 50 is just going to be another slot level after the new endgame content and advancement arrives.

Lots of people have made petless MM's. Basically they play like rather weak corruptors or defenders.
Aside from the challenge there isn't much point to doing it. -
Quote:That would be good too. It is frustrating having to wait to get into your own SG.
Just some way to invite my own toons to the SG would be great.
-
Just a small complaint/suggestion but a lot of my friends have this fairly common habit of making a TON of new characters, particularly after a change and sometimes it can be a pain to link up and invite them all on a work heavy week where we might all be playing limitedly or at different times or just want to run through a task force and not wait around logging on and off with various charcters.
It would be very nice if we could just E-mail people an invitation to join a SG rather then having to wait till they are online with a particular character to send an invite. -
Quote:Agreed! Well said! Not only is this a complete mess, it perverts one of the primary reasons I like City of Heroes - because I'm never forced to take FEWER powers for the sake of making those few powers stronger. I HATE HATE HATE how Blizzard's games go about this, with forcing me to repick powers multiple times, meaning that if I take too many, I can't "enhance" them enough, meaning I end up with, like, five powers total.
I am completely and utterly against this. -
Quote:Yea but if you stop suspending your disbelief like that it should be pretty easy to figure out who most heroes are and then just blow them up in their homes. I mean spiderman has the most obvious form of travel ever, whenever he swung into a dark ally to change clothing there should be about a million people near by watching him 'cause their is no way to stealthly swing around in a bright red suit. However that isn't very fun, so we collectively ignore this fact. I'd rather see them drop Hawkeye, a guy with a freaking bow and arrow, before they drop the Punisher.I don't actually mind the change for earth 616. A normal guy running around killing people, with all the superpowers saying they're irked and that he should be brought in but never doing so, never made sense to me. It would take someone like Vision all of an hour to find him, beat him, and arrest him. He's not Batman.
Leave the Punisher character in the Max series. It's a better fit for him.
I agree though that the Max series is vastly, vastly superior though to the 616 Punisher. -

Quote:Because they've constantly shot down any form of pet customization so until that changes a new pet set is the only hope for new concepts.I think the biggest impediment to adding new MM pets is powers. Everytime you add a power, you have to balance it...
As a former game dev, I know that this means slim to no chance of adding new pets, except with major releases (like going rogue for instance)...
HOWEVER, using the same powersets, but with new charaters is much more doable...
Cops? Longbow? Heck Use the Thugs set, theres little difference in real life between the police and gangs anyway
Longbow Flamethrower? Sounds like an arsonist to me!
The big Brute? Swap with the Praetorian Sargeant.
While were at it, the praetorian police use a lot of power weapons... as do Bots. Power gloves/gauntlets work just like the Bots arm mounted weapontry.
Clockwork! Theres 3 tiers of Clock work in Preatoria. Use them!
Recylce the whole powersets so there no game balacing (no mix and match), and the models are already in the game. I don't see why this couldn't be done inside a month, and be on test! -
In all reality another part of the problem it Batman would very likely vary his gear much, much more then is shown in the comics.
For example he would likely have many different belts stashed in the Bat-whatever he was using that day to get around with the tools he felt he would most likely need for a given situation since he has a very limited amount of space to work with on that belt and tools are often mutually exclusive.
Rescue? Probably a bulkier belt with more tools to fight fires, medical supplies, rope lines etc.
Street fight? Probably a small one filled with easy to carry tools like plastic cuffs, a much smaller first aid kit, etc.
Powered Super villian battle? Probably again a bulkier belt, with weapons safely holstered to allow him to quickly draw them rather then dig through pouches for his weapons since he would likely be relying more on weapons then this his martial arts.
However just this small detail makes more work for artists and writers then drawing him with a generic yellow belt and simply having him claim to have changed the contents to what he needs rather then change the belt itself.
The same applies to the whole Batsuit. He would likely have many, many options for gloves, gauntlets, belts, capes, cowls, helmets, boots, armor etc.
Plus it has been shown to have some pretty unreal features like small computer control compartmets of tear gas which deploy if anyone tries to remove it which, even if possible would be accidentally triggered anytime he bumped his head so under many authors there is just no good way to show draw a more accurate batsuit. -
Quote:Personally I always figured with a clone pool you would only get one power to summon clones and the rest of the powers in your primary would be the various abilities for you your clones. The secondaries are not balanced for a group, but rather to have you support a group so to have them on the clones I don't think they would ever balance properly.I have been thinking about this and it occurred to me that clones would be strange. I'm fully in favour of summoning pets that look exactly like you, however your powers are to summon pets... so having clones they would be able to summon pets... you see where this is going.
Obviously the powers they have would have to be thought through and I guess if they had powers similar thematically to the attacks that would work. Would be very cool if they were also able to dip into any secondary you have. -
I'm not much interested in Clows or Pirates myself but otherwise that is an awseome list. ^_^
Clones in particular should have been on my list two but for some reason I forgot about them. -
What are the top items you want to see for MMs in future issues?
For me I'd say:
1. Some form of pet customization with the idea being a total costume change.
Obviously this is the largest MM items for a lot of people and the leat likely to happen for multiple reasons. That said allowing people to select from a stock of character models as part of power customization doesn't seem unreasonable to me. For example maybe have a Yakuza thungs sets, the current thugs set, a Mafia style thugs set, etc. etc.
2. Radiation Emission Poliferated into a MM secondary.
Radiation Emission is probably my favorite buff/debuff set. I would love to play this set as an MM even if they had to replace or tone down the powers for MM. I'm really surprised we got evil Empathy before the poliferated this set over but I can understand why RE has stayed off the table.
3. Better MM controls, like the ability to select each pets general combat AI.
Ideally I'd like to get to the level of control you had of heroes in Guild Wars Night Fall where you could remove attacks you didn't want them using etc. etc. This way if say the medic is getting himself killed on your team you could set his AI to heal only and remove any attacks that were causing him to act supidly. -
Same as any other power. Slot Syphon Power for reharge, get some sets which lower your recharge and pick up hasten.
-
I really think Time Bomb needs to be replaced. Yo already have poison trap which is basically a nerve gas bomb and trip mine which is another bomb. A third rather crappy bomb doesn't really seem to be doing that much.
I know the set is called "Traps" but I'd be just has happy if they renamed it Weapons of Mass Destruction or something and made trip mine and poison trap grenades as well as replaced time bomb with Gun Drone. I know Trip mine and poison trap are certainly better than Time Bomb but personally I still they are not very group friendly and just go against the general flow of game play. Even Tangent Beacon and acid mortar, which are by no means terrible powers, suffer a bit from being left behind just as often as not in fast the fast paced as well as more and more mobile game play, particularly in villian teams. -
Hey all I finally, finally, finally got my 1 year vet reward and I must say it is amazing!
Sands of Mu just helps out so very, very, very much at the early levels even with redraw times for certain power sets due to the fact that I can debuff and damage several enemies at once which is really useful. I had been having trouble with a mission when I last loged on, after getting Sands I dominated it!
I wonder though does anyoen take the Axe over sands? I have a hard time seeing under what conditions that that moderate damage single target leath damage Ax would be more useful over the High damage negative energy cone of sands but I have to assume the Ax is just as good as sands otherwise why offer you a choice right?
Are there really enough ghosts in the game that this Ax really pays off or it is just a non-choice and sands is always better unless you want an Ax for concept reasons? -
Seems to me like most debuff sets have just one power in it that give -res so I'm hard pressed to argue that given how rare -res is but common -def is. It is just a little frustrating at times if you are soloing using one of the several melee sets which use nothing but lethal damage since some high resistance enemies can really stone wall you.
-
Perhaps you should suggest a smoke bomb alternate animation for that power.
-
Maybe but it is better then nothing and you'll probably get more slots with the incarnate content but we'll just have to wait and see about that.
-
Hmmm look good to me, you might want to start planning a post issue 19 build since you'll have three more powers which, depending on how you slot or don't slot them, could make a serious difference to your build giving you more room to pick up offensive power without hurting your soft caps. Perhaps you could drop Lazer Beam eyes then in favor of Physical Perfection. Just a though I haven't really looked to see how easy it would be to replace the bonuses from the sheild breaker set in Laser Beam eyes.
-
Also a huge advantage to mixing the three together in a layered defense is you'll be much harder to neutralize with Debuffs. If you rely on just one you'll always have certain enemy types who can just destroy you at will because they strip away your defense effortlessly.
Also I know this isn't want you asked at all but if you really want to get complicated control & debuffs are also powerful defense tools. If you lower the enemies damage or keep them from attack all together they can't very well kill you both of which brutes can get a little of with certain sets like Kenetic Melee. -
Well thanks. I forgot about Bruising, for some reason I thought it was a defense debuff not a resistance debuff.
Thanks again! Looks like my scrappers and brusiers will just have to do without. -
Question: Are their any powers for melee ATs that debuff enemy resistance outside of the Ancillary/Patron powers?
As near as I can tell there are not but I thought I would ask those who know the game better then I.
