We really didn't want the Mission Architect to be an environment that encourages farming for XP, Rewards or Badges, and we thought long and hard about the current Architect badge situation. Ultimately we'd like it to be a place where you go to play great player created content.
So, going forward-beginning with the Mission Architect badges-we've decided to move away from "count" badges that might encourage farming and/or aberrant game play. Instead, we'd like to encourage players to try all of our content by offering badges for completing 1 time accomplishments and achievements. What this means for the Mission Architect badges is that many of them are going to be removed in Issue 15. This is because they encouraged farming, because they encouraged aberrant behavior by doing one thing over and over again, they were unobtainable by a large portion of our players, or earning them was completely out of a player's hands and in the hands of other players.

I think this is fine. Just one small problem. I dont give a flying fig newton about badges some of the other players ive talked to share the sentiment. Badges are good if they lead to soemthing like an accolade.
I think the auto sidekick/ auto lackey has to go. Why? it encourages farming.
just walk in atlas city and listen to the broadcast:
Heres a sample:
"Lvl 1 forming lvl 54 ae farm send tell 35 and above"
" Farming lvl 54 AE mish any level toon"
the level 54 ae farms are getting out of hand.
i dont mind if its level 45-50 doing a lvl 54 arc but why in the world would you want a level 1 doing a lvl 54 arc?
it doesnt make sense
you talk about reward/risk ratio with farmers . i neither agree or disagree but i for one am tired of powerlevelers.
thank you for issue 15 and going rogue
im still a fan

I love the puppy 2.
did you have to start in on that subject here?
seems out of place. -

Aw. The piece I volunteered didn't make the cut. Ah well.

I look forward to seeing it next issue then! -
like I said. its not for everyone. I'm a fanatic, especially about bases for obvious reasons.

Well, that's the thing, I don't have ANYTHING in it that uses power. I might have tried to put a work bench in there in preparation for eventually putting in teleporters, but basically what I was after was the ability to create a decorative base with no real utility.
I mean, I realize it would grow as the characters grow, but it's only on the basic plot! even if I could fill the whole basic plot, the thing would still have room to grow.
My issue is that decorative rooms are just that: decorative. They're there exclusively because they're fun. Yet, for some reason, we're so restricted in using them that there's no fun to be had. It seems counterproductive to me.
As for adding members, the SG is really meant just for my Avengers homages, and I don't expect to have more than 6. I could add other people to the group (if they had avengers homages of their own, perhaps), but it kind of defeats the purpose of the group, and very likely no one would want to join a SG with a non-functional base.
It's just frustrating.

I totally feel for ya. edit: I'm rooting for you too!
One thing that always paid off even though its a total rip off was making that horrible personal sacrifice of converting inf to prestige. You might not want to hear this if you hate farming...
I would farm for prestige. I would use tickets and random roll all those recipes. I would take said recipes to market for cheap. I would take said profits to sg register and "Use my influence to boost the prestige of my sg"
its a personal sacrifice. Not one that is meant for everyone. One of my wishes for i15 is the prestige to inf revamp. It really is a rip off to the extreme, but thats what I'm willing to go through for prestige, additionally Iv'e had to deal with farmerhate as well.
The Twisted Burrow gives new meaning to decorating. Its not just to look pretty. Its there as a monument to creativity and skill. Its on a different level that kind of blows the "useless objects taking up space" out of the water.
Those that have seen it will testify on my behalf.
Don't give up! EVER! -

Welcome to the world of CoH.
[/ QUOTE ]Oh I have been here....... doesnt make all things right in the world. Some policies are just wrong.......and need to be modified.
Not one sentence in all the dialogue did I make fun of race, creed, color, foul language........... nothing.
Unless bunnies by themselves are offensive......... maybe its because the player is mad they dont have a furry tail too!

the hatred runs deep. especially when they get lost in the burrow! -
Gawd why do we still have to pay upkeep?!

With one addition, this could be awesome.
Let this be the case for a month, and then when all the farmers are settled and easily identifiable by their tags, the GMs can have one weekend of mass account-banning.
[/ QUOTE ]
They could just about unplug redside infinity then. Trying to institute punishment to discourage a rewarding behavior is not the better option.
edit: I don't need to state the obvious.
[/ QUOTE ]
Punishing players for behavior, that was said to be punishable multiple times before they had a chance to do it, is to be expected.
Cheaters break the rules.
The DEVs have clearly stated repeatedly - the MA is not a farming or power-leveling tool. Players that use it as such will be punished by bans, account closures, etc.
I know that some of you can still act like you are blind to the fact that exploiting the MA obviously what is being done. There will be a stop put to it.
Is it really worth getting your account banned, suspended, characters deleted, etc.?
Farmers are pretty full of themselves these days and think that they are the core of the game and the majority of players.
Neither are the case.
Bye.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds to me like someone isnt getting paid for pling peeps anymore. thats GOTTA sting!
lol ok bye. -
[ QUOTE ]
My biggest problem with the MA is that Peregrine and Grandville are now ghost towns. I can't find anyone to team with to do lvl 50 stuff except AE farmers. I don't mind soloing at lower levels, but at 50 I do mostly Trials and SF/TF, which takes more people. Guess it just shows that the majority of players are perfectly happy farming away rather than playing the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
they are also happy not having to pay some outlandish fee for getting pl'd. which is why alot of peeps have been bashing AE farmers.
personally, I get my sg all on the same team, we get into voice chat, cut up, rip on eachother and have a blast. we are all experienced vets, we are bored with regular content, we dont like tf's and such. We dont advertise what we are doing, we dont use any exploits, we keep to ourselves.
there are those that broadcast their farms and that I am against.
there are also those that beg for farms, Which I am also against. <a few of them have shown to be quite the nefarious spammers=imashaaaaaark.>
At some point especially on this subject since it varies from case to case, everyone is right and everyone is wrong.
welcome to earth; land of confusion. Ima make such a profit off this war. -

You obviously missed Meow farms. With those, a bunch of newbies with terrible builds could get to 50 in a matter of hours.
It's darkly satisfying to watch a bunch of farmers run into the latest Meow-wannabe and get slaughtered.
If you want to get a real team, try asking in your server forum about getting on global channels, learn to use the Find Member function, and get the hell outta Atlas.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's also darkly satisfying to GET them slaughtered. My running crew HATES blind invites! -
Just dont ask the native americans what Christianity did for them kk? thx.
-
oh, i dunno, i kinda find it funny when im shot out of the air from way up just to skydive and faceplant. theres humor to be appreciated there, especially since its me.
-
if they were going to shut the game down, i would be all for it. however, should anyone decide to run their own servers anyone joining would need to make sure their version matched. I can see the mods now- pure chaos.
on the other hand, I dont mind 30$ a month. devs need to eat too! -

One Good idea around that issue .. People sign up and create an ALT on whichever server this is hosted on. Okay so they'd be a 1 level BIG deal. LOL It would be for the purpose of attending the class and nothing sayd they can't delete when the class is done.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is exactly what you do. If you have the ability to do so, I recommend you make a Peacebringer. Flight at level 1 is much better than using sprint.

If we are going to do tours on live <I dearly hope so> A PB would be necessary for The Twisted Burrow -
RMT's are dangerous.
Theres so many reasons to avoid them: anyone that uses them should fear for their identity. -
I wouldnt have a problem voulenteering my sg on test, its got over 32 mill prestige.
-
count me in I would love to see/show/tell
but not smell -
try selecting something and then "monitor said power bonus"
its a great way to observe how effective things are in combat, alot of the cool kids use it to see how much of what is doing what to what.
simple and fun to use! -
once upon a time someone figured out how to coalign their sg with their vg. this person spent alot of time putting things in her vg from her sg. Said reason is why we cant do that anymore.
this really makes me hate exploits witha purple passion. -
when r we gonna get a redname in on this?

What puts up the most single target damage, and what's the most survivable?
[/ QUOTE ]
Six scrappers. Still far and away the best pets defenders get. Usually not quite as smart as the AI, but that's why defenders have that "team chat" command option.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sure. I'll be your pet. You better feed me though- I eat alot of carrots! Also, when its time for me to "go out" you better make sure that I can, or you will be cleaning up after me. I need regular vet apointments for my fleabite dermatitis, regular oatmeal baths, and lots and lots of snuggles. -
It is very nice! Looks outstanding, please keep up the good work
