Quote:/signed.Blarg. Somehow the Dev's always pick my scheduled weekend to work. -.- Please extend the event! Just one more week!
I have a friend <also a soloist> and his partner have a two man SG.
So far this double XP weekend left me with around 530 mill inf.
I just donated it to their SG for a prestige boost and it gave me such pleasure making someone else happy.
I want to do this more. -

Quote:I'm on Infinity. I never liked the -over rewarding- missions, something about those just says to me, "If you use this you are a weakling" and I enjoy a good +4 x8 setting so, I don't consider myself a weakling by any extent. Those -over rewarding- missions were nothing more than a setback for developing skills, so I can't support anyone using them.I never see those famous farmers from AE or those AE missions that give insanely XP and make you level like crazy.
Can you tell me where they are?
Im playing in Union, and cant get a team for my lvls under 35s...
Im not having any luck this 2XP weekend, Im soloing with my blaster and its kind of lame. People only running ITF, and I cant because my new alt is 34.
As far as finding those famous farmers... do what I did... Become one. Then you won't need -anyone- to carry you.
It took playing several archetypes, mastering their abilities and playstyles before I grasped a solid concept of a "legendary farmer" it didn't happen over night and it wasn't handed to me either. I worked hard for it and so should you.
That's the best advice I can give. Take it. -
Sorry to hear that. hope a solution is found sooner than later.

I remember that hot dog stand, ah fond memories.
Lightning rod got me in, and out. -
Quote:I tend to make it easier on the players when I see white and yellow salvage on the market going for +50KBecause the Devs are incapable of stopping them, and players are incapable of resisting them (by, you know, not buying what they're selling)?
"I couldn't help myself, I had to buy farmed/stolen gold!"
Come to think of it, I heard the same sort of excuse from players who insisted that they were compelled to exploit any holes and oversights that the Devs put/left in AE. It must be terrible to not have any free will or self-control. How do these people get through the day without the ability to say "no" or make moral judgments?
All mine goes for 1 inf.
I farm for the players' benefit.
Please observe that's where I stand. -
Quote:They were given a very early heads up on the beta about these so called "exploits" no, no, wait, I can't call them exploits, because exploits would be from something like a third party program, like a hex editor, no, that's not whats going on here, no. This is something built into the game, something the players don't have any responsibility of putting in there themselves, no. This one is all on the devs.First, I'll ignore the snide comment about common sense, as I'm sure you weren't directing it specifically at me or suggesting that I don't have any.
Second, while your assumption of the reasoning may be the most logical, that does not make it so. After all, there was a whole lot of common sense that said the world was flat at one time. But again, the issue is that they don't have the guts to step out and say so, one way or the other. Instead, they depend on the "common sense police" to answer for them.
Lastly, taking AE out altogether was one of my options as well. However, if they were to do so simply because a small percentage of people aren't using the system the way they intended, then they might as well discontinue the game altogether because there have always been and will always be people who don't use the game mechanics as intended.
And quite frankly, saying the devs were using common sense when they designed AE AND that they didn't anticipate some small portion of the playerbase to misuse it is an oxymoron of epic proportions...with the emphasis on the moron part. ANYONE with a lick of common sense knew it was going to happen, and I'm sure you'd give the devs at least that much credit!
Let's just call it a "programming error" ...to save face, shall we?
Not only did they know about these "programming errors" they allowed it to happen. -
Quote:Fix't."Don't open that! It's an alien planet! Is there air? You don't know!"
The trouble with common sense is that it's not common enough.
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to guess that when the Devs handed out flutes, they hoped and expected that we would try to make music with them. ("Try" being the operative word - some have creative talent and others, um, don't.) I can imagine their surprise, dismay and disappointment when they found out that so many players would rather hit each other over the head or stick them up their... noses.
Frankly, part of me wishes that they'd just take AE out of the game entirely and publicly state it's because of faulty coding, lack of foresight and lack of resources to fix it properly that allowed more than intended rewards to be taken advantage of. "This is why we can't have nice things." Maybe avoid a bunch of players going back and forth at each other, because that's not good for the longevity of the game and it makes things "not fun"
Lay off of the farmers.
We are the only thing standing in the way of the RMT's taking over. -
If AE is Positron's baby I'm calling child protection services.
That baby has been dropped on its head far too many times!

Double XP is -not- applying to AE
Adding to this it looks as if my non-exploitative-rule-following mission has had its rewards reduced.
I am one disenchanted item.
Maybe efforts should have been focused on a new base editing system instead of AE.
What a waste of time. -
I'm just being cautious, well, ok paranoid.
When my friend got his account unlocked he check things...his powertrays were "messed up" so.. that's what set me off. Maybe someone is just testing to see if they can get away with it, hence the messed up power trays. Dunno.
yeah I'm paranoid.
Sorry if I worry too much. -
Change all of your passwords, check all of your alts, make sure everything is secure.
A RL friend of mine who is known for religiously following the rules, being polite, and going out of his way to be friendly with people in game was hacked recently.
This was totally random as he doesn't surf porn sites<no keyloggers or viruses detected> doesn't deal with RMT's or pl'ers and remains a bit isolated due to his lack of socializing.
I fear this will be on the rise. -
I can't wait to get one of those!
I always wanted white chocolate construction equipment. -
Hero: Primus
Villain: Unicron
Reason for both: Fate. -
Why do I get the unsettling vibe that account hacking will soon be on the rise?
-
Bases won't have relevance till Supergroups have relevance.
-which is what We are after: relevance.
I've put hours into my base and I don't want to rebuild.
-Iv'e put months if not years into mine.
This is the same as having to lose all my costumes in order to have a new costume creator.
I actually find this pretty scary that a subgroup of this games community are talking about nuking and erasing the work of other players because they are unhappy with the base systems as it is.
-yeah. change is scary. Also, by Positrons own words: Things change.
What happened to asking for low hanging fruit?
-crickets chirping...that's what happened.
Are you so sick of the Devs doing nothing for you that you want to burn the rest of the player base?
-With backwards compatibility? I don't see anyone getting burned, Unless your name happens to be Hassenpheffer...
My base is the reason I won't make a character on any other server. My base is the reason I play redside. I value my base and I'm in it everyday. Any plan by the self designated leaders of the base community to just erase it from the servers is gonna get a /jranger from me.
-do what yer gonna do.
Let me put it into a metaphor for you. You want to take everyone's eggs and make a big new delicious base omelet for everybody. Years ago I hatched my egg and raised a supercool Rooster that's my best friend. My rooster says /jranger to your idea of the base omelet.
- heh, maybe its time we actually heard from devs about these ideas and see what they come up with. they are the ones with the ninja skills after all. -
-
I'm sure that there would be some work around that would allow for transferring, I.E: keep the old stuff right where it is, place a new slavage rack or Enh table and just spend about 5 mins transferring from the old to the new.
I want to say our devs are cool like that.
I want to say they won't leave us hanging. -
-
Add my voice to the number.
We need new base editing tools and base functions/features to make bases relevant again. -
I counted.
Salvage racks used to hold 2500 items, showed as 999.
Back when WW first hit I remember seeing alot of the base salvage on the market, salvage racks still held 2500. I did see price flipping going on, but at the same time, I didn't depend on the market for base salvage. I had plenty of active sg members dumping off junk that rapidly filled those racks. crafting, storing salvage for the empowerment buffs worked quite well.
Hording wasn't a problem, or, at least... salvage dropped so often it didn't seem like one.
It would be nice to go to that number again, or just a number that is NOT 30.
It would also be nice to tie all storage into all crafting tables and empowerment buff stations or be able to chose which ones to assign for sheer convenience. -
Think of it this way,
The base building community wants to make this huge breakfast to feed everyone in the game, in order to do so, it's going to take all of our eggs to make this huge omelet.
Its going to take all of us to make this sacrifice in order for it to happen.
We will have to re-build our farms, re-hatch our chicks and its going to take some getting used to.
If I know anything about our dev team- The end result will breathe new life into bases, they will become so much more than they were before and people will be scratching their heads and saying things like "why didn't we do this sooner?"
I'm letting go of something -huge-
I'm in this all the way... well...IF it has to happen that way and IF it happens at all.
I invite you to come by Infinity <blueside> for a tour, as I would love to see your base as well.
