No, it's not time for CoH2. The sky is not falling.

I thought FW was pretty awful because of the horrendous walls o text and the rage-inducing ambushes.
I was going to run it again on my lvl 42 tanker to see if he fares better, but if he's outlevelled it then I won't bother.
I don't do Ouro.

"In the 1-50 game, the rewards from enemies in your level range drop as you become more powerful - on the Trials, that doesn't happen - so far, we've gained 2-3 levels on the Trials, but the content we were doing before we got those levels is still giving the same rewards even when we've gained those levels."
Or, the trials become less difficult content the more you run them, and yet their reward rates don't reduce.
Which contradicts your 'easier incarnate progress requires fewer rewards' stance.
Eco -
Why, when they give the same rewards now that they did when they were new and hen e harder because not everyone knew exactly what to do in them?
You're trying to tell me you exclusively MoM and UG?
Eco
Edit: new. And if you want reward to drop with decreased difficulty, then all trial rewards should be nerfed for players after they've done them X number of times. Familiarity reduces the difficulty, after all.

Quote:This is all just GG Blah Blah and it's wrong. I can't remember the last time I was on a BAF, sLAM or Keyes that even looked like it was going to fail. The trials are easymode steamroller automatic by-rotes now. If you still find those 3 challenging then you're doing them wrong.Because it takes longer to form leagues, and they have tougher challenges on them - the DA enemies are 50-54, and the Trial enemies are 54+ - solo content also doesn't requie the amount of co-ordination and teamwork that group content does, and because it's less complex and difficult, there's less chance of solo challenges being failable.
Leagues take longer to set up, require teamwork and co-ordination, fight the toughest enemies in the game, have the most complex mechanics - that's why they give the best and fastest rewards in the game.

Quote:As long asach server has 24 Golden Girls, raiding won't die if solo progress gave rhe same rate of reward per toon as trialing. The reasoning goes that nobody would want to do large trials if you can get the same rewards without forming a huge league.
Which then leads to the question "why do we keep getting these trials if nobody actually wants to do them", but people usually just laugh or get mad when I ask that.
Eco -
I don't see why small team/solo Incarnate progress should have to have less rewards than trials.

When I was much younger I lived for a while in a foreign (to me) country and I used to babysit a woman's young baby while she was out at work. Twice a week, every week, for 22 weeks. She had a betamax video machine and only two movies; Midnight Express and Grease 2. For reasons I don't need to elaborate, there was no way for me to get any other films, so on those nights I would watch Grease 2 twice. Apart from 4 separate occasions of watching Midnight Express, that's what I did. I've seen Grease 2 80 times.
I still like that movie lol, but i think you'd call that an outlier in comparison to most people's experience. If you read a book and then the next day start it over again, and you do that as many times as people grind BAFs, then there's something unusual going on.

Quote:3 pawn points too many for me.Then youre not looking very hard
The phasing tech in Atlas only removes 3 spawn points, and replaces them with PPD and arrested gang members - and the Arachnos invasion phases in and out over normal mobs who are unaffected by it.
Eco -
Quote:None of it. I don't actually like the phasing tech that leaves the city crime-free. It breaks my sense of immersion, ironically. I fly across Atlas with my lvl 50 and see no mobs, and it makes me think 'hm, nothing here for my lvl 1s to do then'.You can clean up a few areas of Atlas and get rid of the criminals
How much of Paragon would you like to clean up? It gives a feeling of accomplishment, but then you cannot hunt in those areas. Might make defeat badges hard to get, or just make the game seem dull.
Personally I would like to clean up basically all of it. I would like to do a Striga arc that defeated the council base there, that sort of thing.
I like to think that all my toons exist in the same city at the same time, so I'm quite happy with not being able to actually ever completely stop crime. Spidey never runs out of muggers to hang from streetlights, does he?

Quote:I suspect there'll be a fair few toons just stood around in whatever bit of DA becomes the de facto 'Atlas Statue' bit spamming heals and making their damn demons dance and superspeeding around in circles like children just like they do in Pocket D.The biggest problem with DA being the Trial staging zone is that the street mobs mightn't respawn fast enough to keep up with the frenzied packs of Incanrates thowing out Judgements in the downtime between Trials

Is there any way to choose NA when we create a second free account now? I don't want the Europe account, even though I live in Europe.
Eco -
Quote:Yeah, a tell is fine, even if it's not fantastically put. I try to always respond.Yea, I know. You wont ever catch me spamming people, or being obnoxious if they decline (or even don't respond at all.) But I was reacting to the comments from some who apparently find any form of unsolicited tells intrusive.
Sending people polite tells has been a perfectly valid and accepted form or recruiting/getting on a team, for as long as I've been playing. It's only recently, it seems, that people are getting their knickers in a bunch about it.
I do get really wound up when the servers at fast food joints ask me "wpuld you like to go large/a drink/fries/a desert with that?", though. I want to respond with "Are you insinuating that I'm a cretin? Because surely only a moron would come into your esrablishment wanting fries/a drink/a desert/to go large and then FORGET TO ACTUALLY ASK FOR IT?"
But I don't. No point. Sometimes I say something like "I'd like a Bigmac, and only a Bigmac, and I don't want you to offer me anything else at all, ok?" though.

Quote:I used 'toss' as a verb there.Oh no..not the fire toss!! No other power sets in the game have fire slinging powers!
Well..besides..fire blast, fire melee, fire manip, fire assault, fire control, technically blazing arrow, bot attacks, oni attacks, thugs attacks..the list goes on.
Heaven forbid you turn your sound down cause an SG mate wants to play with demons.
No Demons allowed in our SG. I don't see what's so bad about that rule. I have friends who don't let their friends take their dogs to their house. Same thing.

Shouldn't we be getting a new episode of Who Will Die sometime soon?

Quote:Didn't it use to be possible to die from falling damage, though? I remember hearing about how it was possible tom grief someone by inviting them to a team, then Recall Friending them up to the zone ceiling and letting them plummet to their deaths. I thought that was why they introduced the 'no falling death' mechanic. You can't die from falling dmg in CoH though. Something must have hit you.
I had a similar thing happen ages ago with a toon who had that heal power that also saps a bit of your own health? I can't remember whether it was my emp defender or not, but i was in Founders Falls and I'd just had a bit of a fight and was low on health, saw a toon having a fight a little way away, forgot i was low, ran over, healed him and dropped dead.

Didn't they already try to give us some awful story-based reason why powers exist with the Origin of Power rubbish?
Eco -
I've bougjt BR, TW and StJ but haven't done anything with them yet. I also boight some extra character slots and the Present costume chsnge emote. I would have bought the entire Holiday Pack but I can't easily find out which bits I've already got because
All together now...
The paragon market interface is a horrible piece of bumhole product.

Now I feel an urge to use my T4 Ion Judgement on the civvies, just to see it.
I won't, ecause that would be a jerk move for the rest of the League, but if I ever find myself alone there thru a league disband mess up with the option, I'll take it lol.
I found myself alone in the BAF once when something went weird. Waited around for ten minutes but nobody came in. I spent a while trying to take out the Warworks in my own and then gave up lol.
Eco -
Quote:I do too, but i don't come over like one of those people paid to post gushing praise for a product in blogs and forums as though i'm just a satisfied customer lol.The only connection that I have to the developers is that I enjoy playing the game that they make
You're like the Praetorian version of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Every time you say 'This will be great!', people are like 'hm. no negative reports to compare to, hence veracity of review questionable, wait and see for myself.'
You're still entertaining, though. I don't think you're related to a dev, myself. I like to think you're a particularly advanced Turing Test AI set free to wander the forum code, myself

EDIT: That last paragraph was meant as a compliment, btw. -
Quote:If the rate of Incarnate advancement through the solo path is as bad as you say it will be, maybe the hardcore trialers won't bother with it after they've done it for the storyline or to check it out once.It might - just as long as they add Incarnate mobs to streep sweep and repeatable Incarnate contacts to it - otherwise, there's going to be a stampede to DA by everyone interested in Incarnates
There's zero reason to gather in PD or the RWZ when DA offers Incarnate rewards in the downtime between Trials - DA's going to be the Trial staging ground that quite a few people were asking for when the Trials first came out.

You could always all quit the SG except for the troll and start again, and this time be careful about who you're inviting.
Bad luck on the deletion etc, but look at it as a learning experience.

On a tangentally connected point, my SG-mates and I were trioing synapses TF the other week, so I asked in one of my globals 'can we get some padders for Synapse please? My friends and I want to trio it. You don't need to stay for the while thing, just long enough for us to start, then you can quit'.
After a short while we got enough (it may have only been 1, I cant remember if synapse minimum is just 4?). The thing is, one of the padders, after he'd joined, said 'mmind if I stay for a bit? I'm bored".
Now it would have been an ungrateful wretch indeed who'd have replied 'no sorry, we'd rather you didn't' after he'd been kind enough to pad for us, so I said 'sure' but felt obliged to warn him we were going to be taking it slowly, we'd be chatting on skype so he might think us a bit quiet lol. He stayed for the first mission and then logged out, but he didn't quit. We were a bit confused at that, but when we had to log out after a few more missions one of us parked her toon somewgere safe and left her pc on all night until the next day in case he logged back in and continued without us when we were offline.
I'm nit suggesting ge would have done, but it illustrates an issue with needing padders. I have been on a duo TF attempt where one of the padders did stay and did do a large portion of the TF when we were offline, 'robbing' us of the fun of doing it ourselves.
The minimums need to be removed.
