Last night while on a Master of the Baracude SF, my Storm/Sonic Defender dinged level 50! Storm Rider went on to join the ranks of the Incarnates soon after! Thank you all who have teamed with him and all those who helped form his build on the forums. So next time you see storm clouds rolling in dont fear. Its Storm Rider riding in to save the day!

I am leveling a Dual Pistols/Mental Blaster atm. Her name is River Song.(OH YEA!) I was toying around in MIDS and noticed the sheer amount of Cones and AoEs this toon is going to have. To take them all would surely be unnecessary. From a damage standpoint and from a IO Set building standpoint. I am planning to softcap S/L defense while bumping up recharge to perma Drain Psyche. This is not meant to be a farming toon as I have seen several do. I have no problem with redraw. I actually kinda enjoy it as I like the style and feel it gives my toon. (call me crazy)
Question:
Which of the Cones/AoEs/PBAoEs are skippable in a leveling build and Final Build? -
Ok so after much internal debate and actually creating several different toons(all of which are scheduled for deletion), I have actually gone against my previous decision to create a toon for the sole purpose of purple pimping.(say that 64 times fast)
I had a toon sitting on the back burner and on a whim decided to start playing it though some content again. Storm/Sonic Defender named Storm Rider. MAN! I fell in love with this toon! Over the last 2 weeks I have gotten him to level 36 through various TFs. So much fun!
Anyways, the point. I had forgotten the joy of falling in love with a toon again. I have been running my 50s so much. Things had grown stagnant. So to heck with PLing a toon to purple. I am gonna enjoy this wonderful game through fresh eyes(Eagle eyes to be exact). I will see you all out there! -
OK so if I dropped FA from the level 49 slot what could I replace it with?
If I dropped the KB IO from Tough where could I put the slot for the most benefit?
I also replaced the chance for build up in tornado with the Soulbound Allegiance: Acc/Dam/Rech. -
OK so here is my new build. I think its got most if not all the things I desire. The toon just hit level 32 and picked up LS so my desires may change as I level. lol

I am dusting off my Fire/Elec blaster to start running his incarnate stuff. I played him through a few mishes last night and realized he needs some serious work. The goal with this build was to provide capped S\L defense and as much ranged as I could get in without taking unnecessary(From my pov) powers or gimping the ones I did take. Help me tweak to perfection folks!

Excellent News! Thank you guys very much. A new Super was born last night. The Praetorian Strangler(Plant/Thorn Dom) showed up on the docks of Praetoria ready to make something of himself. Time will tell if he shines with the light of Justice or falls into the depths of darkness that envelope the world of villainy.

Its not that I have a bunch of random purples. I have several sets completed that can be slotted and a few random peices that can be sold for INF. In fact thats the plan. The reason I would like to create a new toon is that all my current toons are finished. All my 50s are slotted out. I have been collecting purples for the purpose of having a destination for my next leveling project. Its time for that project.

Over the last few months I have ran a very fortunate streak of receiving purple drops through various TFs. At one point I had a purple drop every day for just over a week. So I find myself sitting on a rather nice collection of crafted Purples. This is a situation I have never found myself in. I would like to take advantage of this. The sets I seem to have completed are Holds, Immobs, and stuns, with some random peices from some damage sets. This leads me to believe a Controller or dominator would be my best choice for my first ever Purpled out toon.
My question to you all is what power combos from these two ATs would be the best to Purple out? By that I mean which would I get the most returns from in terms of damage/support/survivability(in that order)?
I have a Fire/Kin and an Ill/Rad already at 50 and IOed out. So try not to repeat these power sets unless they can be paired with something different for a different game experience. -

Thanks Dragynn. I still cant figure out what happened with the formatting. I appreciate the help with that. Yea I meant to put the chance for hold in there. (I actually made the build at 3:00 am when I awoke from a dead sleep cuz I had a dream about the build lol)

Storm Rider is currently in her low levels but I want to work up a build to work towards so I can start funding it as I level. My goal here is to get a level 50 defender and Purple out a toon. I have never done either.
The Build Summary:
This build has enough recharge to perma Hasten and Freezing Rain(actually off by about 1 second of running 2 patches argh! lol) As well as running 2 Lightning Storms/Tornados. Defense actually leaves something to be desired but I figure Hurricane will cover this problem solo and teaming will make it less an issue. Oddly enough I was able to cap my S/L resistance lol. Wierd. anyways thats cool.
The Request:
Help me to optimize this build. There are a few power choices I threw in cuz I didnt know what else to take (ie. Maneuvers, force of nature). Same with a bit of slotting. The core seems to be solid but help me shore up some of the fringe decisions.

Ok I created this build and decided to not use cost as a factor. The question that plagues me is this build a case of "yea he threw a lot of purples in alright.....so what?" Did I just pack em in for not a huge benefit? Is the build solid? This will be primarily a sniper style toon taking advantage of range to rain down pain and make sure everything is dead before it even gets into firing range. Could I do this for cheaper?

My Shield/SS tank dinged level 30 last night. (Manticore TF here I come!) I decided to try something I don't normally do which is create a build at level 30 to help me get through the next set of levels. What are your thoughts on this build? I have been thinking about this for a while now. One of the things I love about this game is the great diversity in Costumes. The devs have done a great job in making sure my hero doesn't look like your hero or the guy's over there. We have such an abundant array of costume peices that one of the events that naturally arose were Costume Contests. I love these player run events. To see so many individuals show up and show off is exciting for many. However, there are logistical issues with hosting large CCs. When in a zone such as Atlas Park or Galaxy City, small things like lighting and Zone Population can hinder the organization of one. Hosting in a base is nice but the issue comes from having to make sure that you have enough Supergroup members to host the teams if the CC gets to large.
So my suggestion:
Create a dedicated Map for Costume Contests.
1. This can allow for optimal lighting at all times.
2. We can have a catwalk of some sort for players to strut their stuff.
3. The judges can have a spot to sit and render their judgements.
