Hmmm...but the massive taxes on tobacco go to fund health care programs...so by smoking, you are actually healing people...so Paragon is going to have to donate quite a bit of their phat evil profits to charity in order to be as philanthropic as smokers...

No, you earn a token for every 1200 paragon points you purchase with cash. You cannot buy tokens with paragon points.
  3. My feedback is that while the new system appears to be an improvement over the old, there is a major problem.

For me, the costume creator is fundamental to the game and having as many options available as possible is very important to my enjoyment. Creating new costume sets and gating them behind long-term play or a large dollar expenditure is maddening.

I hope that there will be some way to purchase these costume sets from the market, rather than having to wait for months or expend a huge amount of money on paragon points to inflate one's veteran level. Even a change in policy that would allow reward tokens to be delivered up front after a long-term subscription purchase would solve the problem.

    Thanks for considering this.

If that is the case, I'll be happy and all of my comments here will be void. I'd happily buy a 2 year subscription if the points were paid up front.

Edit: I mean if the monthly reward tokens are given in bulk when a new long-term sub is purchased.

Sorry I can't help asking this...is it really necessary to point out that my opinion is in fact my opinion? Of course the opinions I express here are my...opinion...

Agreed. My final comment for this line of discussion:

Devs, please don't let this system create a divide between "haves" and "have nots." The old system did not have this problem because beyond a certain point, almost no one cares about it. I understand that you want the new system to be meaningful in terms of rewarding long-term veterans, however there are core features of the game that all VIP players are going to want access to, including costume sets, and gating them in this way is going to cause tension, as it already is with me.

No point in discussing with folks who are already fully vested, at least. However posting feedback for the devs is rarely a waste of time.

While I appreciate what you've done to explain the mathematics of the system, I have to disregard the preaching of anyone who is grandfathered in so completely that they will have everything in the new system handed to them immediately and for free.

In other words: Easy for you to say.

    Whatever.

The two vet reward systems cannot be compared because the current one consists of relatively useless (my opinion) and repetitive rewards. Now that I have the Samurai armor, there is nothing else of interest to me. The new reward system however, is actually showcasing (and time-gating) some very interesting core content in the form of new costume sets consisting of many pieces.

Contrary to your trite assumption, I don't feel entitled to anything for free--what I'm hoping for is that the swag will be available for direct purchase through the market for those like me who want it nao, and through the vet rewards program for those who are willing to wait or who have subscribed for so long that they will have immediate access to everything anyway. Seems that the people in the latter category are really excited by this system, strangely enough...

Or you can wait the two years and with the free 400 month of Points you get, buy the extra goodies.
I understand the mechanics of it, but both of those options are completely unsatisfying. Two years or somewhere between $300 and $350. There is nothing good that can be said about that, really. I'll just continue to hope that the costume pieces will make it into the market and re-evaluate the situation after I've had to a chance to actually see it.

I'm not flying off half-cocked or anything... I get it, I understand, it's just my personal opinion... and I am disappointed.
I feel exactly the same about this. I'm waiting for more info, but as of right now I'm disappointed that my favorite aspect of the game--the costume creator--is receiving more time-gated content. My hope is that the costume sets available through the rewards program for free will also be available for direct purchase from the market.

Like you, I am also a bit disappointed that my nearly 2 years of continuous subscription is going to put me many months or several hundred dollars from being able to access the content I really want.

We'll just have to see how it works out.
  12. Regarding Tier 9 VIP costume pieces.

Will these be available in the market for direct purchase either immediately or after they have had a 3-4 month exclusivity period as Paragon Rewards? For that matter, will the other costume pieces currently gated behind the vet system or tied to badges be available for direct purchase?

Whether or not the thing I most like about the game--character customization via costumes--becomes more heavily gated will have a significant impact on my desire to keep playing. I do not mind buying costume pieces directly from the market--in fact I prefer it. I do have a problem with having to wait months or years (as in the current system) or spend hundred of dollars on Paragon Points to get access to them.
  13. I will be a VIP player when this goes live, probably with the 24-month badge. That will give me 10 points to spend immediately. If I go ahead and purchase a 1-year sub, will I get the 13 points immediately or will I have to wait for them to come in 1 per month?

I don't care what tier I am in and most of the rewards are not must-haves for me. However, the costume pieces are, and I would hate to be unable to gain access to the Celestial Armor unless I drop over $300 on Paragon Points up front. This is all the more important as the Tier 9 VIP rewards will apparantly be retired and replaced occasionally.

EDIT: This is all moot of couse if the costume pieces will be available for direct purchase from the market. I'm not asking for freebies--I'm willing to pay.
  14. Great news! I'd been wondering when the next one would be.

Its ingrained in the community unfortunately. In almost two years of playing I've never seen the mythical team wipe due to KB, even when KB powers were being aggressively used. Go figure.

It's a pose that serves no purpose other than to emphasise her, well, breasts and butt for the sake of emphasising it. It's certainly not an expression of Sister Psyche's sexuality, even ignoring how uncomfortable the position is, because it's pretty safe to assume that when you're terrified half-to-death by an apocalyptic meteor shower expressing your sexual autonomy is not someone's first concern.
I'll concede that the pose is...unusual. However it seems to have served its artistic purpose of drawing attention to what is going to happen in issue 21.

I'm hearing some interpretations that I strongly disagree with though. When I look at the picture, it appears to me that she was moving quicky, perhaps flying or running responding in typical heroic fashion to the sudden, firey disturbance in Galaxy City, and was suddenly dumbstruck by some scene of unimaginable horror. Hence the chest-forward, leg-up pose and expression of raw shock. I think the composition of the picture was intended to be sort of a collage, and that Sister Psyche and BAB are not literally in the same scene.

Looking at her pose and appearnce in context I truly cannot find fault with it.
  19. I only read a little of this thread begause, frnakly, a lot of the things I read disgust me.

I don't need an ancient 1970s feminist notion of what a strong woman is supposed to look like informing the design of characters in my game. In the post-feminist 21st century women can display intelligence, strength and sexuality to any degree they choose to.

  23. I play fairly casually and after totalling up my merits acorss my three level 50s I have enough to buy most of the stuff I want. Very happy about that!

I do wish that another set of Ascension boots would be added. The current ones are a little too "heavy" for my taste but I'm sure I'll figure out a way to make use of them. Something more appropriate for a fast, nimble character would be much appreciated, though.

Looking forward to trying out the new trial tonight with the great crew on Champion.

400 for $5 would make it $25 for 2000 (plus whatever amount of bonus points). Maybe there is a psychological price point in there that they are trying to hit?
