To anyone who hasn't submitted a support ticket, I cannot stress this enough:
BEFORE YOU CLICK SUBMIT/CONTINUE, COPY YOUR SUPPORT TICKET INTO A SEPARATE DOCUMENT.
I say this because I had mine all set and ready (after spending a half hour looking through old emails and files), I clicked continue and was greeted with the following:
"Submission failed. Operation timed out. Please use the back button and refresh your page."
Luckily, I had a copy waiting in my word processor of choice with the feeling that this would happen.

But while you're telling me that it sucks, please bear in mind that this is my first time actually using IOs ever (not even Frankenslotting), and building a kheld that looks like I'll enjoy playing after reading Dech's The MFing Warshade*
*I played a Peacebringer to 40, got bored, stripped and deleted it
I'd also like you to bear in mind that I'd like to keep the budget for this down to oranges and hamis, and possibly a few purples here and there.
(And sorry Dechs, but my warshade is at 33 and I haven't respeced it once yet

I played a peacebringer up to around level 40 and got bored.
Then I found this guide.
Even though my warshade is only at 22, your guide makes me giddy with excitement at what it'll be able to accomplish in mere levels.
Or it could just be your awesome writing!

This whole thread is very similar to my experiences with the market. After playing on and off for 4 years, I really didn't have much of a need for inf. However, after being cooped up at home for surgery recovery for about 3 weeks, I needed something to do. Hence, the market came into play. After reading part of this thread and asking around, I formulated my own way of making money.
I got about 2 billion in 2 weeks, and it wasn't consistent playing.

-Sprint (or any of its variations) must be on 6. This either remains sprint as I level, or get swapped out for something else that has faster horizontal movement (siphon speed, super speed, etc)
-A toggle macro must be made in the event of a character with more then 1 toggle. This macro sits in my tray on either 5, 9, or 8.
-Aid self must be on 7
-Hasten is bound to G, V, or H
-Melee tier 9 is always bound to H. (Total focus, headsplitter, etc)
Also, it's been 6 years and I STILL don't use IOs. I think I'm going to have to break that habit with my new addiction to the market, however. -

Good morning!
A few days ago, I bought the Going Rogue sale on Steam for $10, which gave me a month through a retail CD key. However, I noticed that Steam was trying to download the whole game client, when I already have the client itself installed.
Fast forward to today, where I stupidly hit "Delete local game files" in steam. Now, when I run the City of Heroes updater, it tries to reinstall the whole game.
After re-pointing it to the x86 folder where City is really installed, the updater is trying to redownload the game. I closed that.
Now, I'm having Steam do it, even though I already have everything updated. (I was playing until 5am this morning, for posterity's sake)
So, with that relevant background information, I have to ask:
Can I just copy my exsisting X86 folder from the directory into the steam/steamapps/common/cityofheroes and skip the steam download? If so, how do I go about doing that and not screwing up something like vidiotmaps?
OR
Is there a way where I can just get my local build of City to run and not ask me to reinstall it?

Right click on the game, select "Don't keep this game updated" or similar. Alternatively "Delete all local content", which wipes the Steam version of the game and tells Steam to keep it uninstalled until you tell it not to.
Any way to fix this other then just having steam redownload everything? -

Buy the game through steam, then head over to your game's library. Right click Going Rogue, and click on manage account. This should take you straight to the NCSoft manage account page. Enter in your username/password, and it should give you the option to create a new account or upgrade an existing one, like it did for mine.
Now I just have to figure out how to make it so I don't have to redownload the client (already patched to latest version today), and see how it charges me for next month. -
