Which does NOTHING to 'fix' blasters. I know, you didn't mean it that way. But claiming these changes are ok, because of something we can ALREADY do (hover blasting) does not make sense. Nevermind to those blasters who dont want to do this.

Oh good point Laz..didnt even think of Dom snipes. Or the fact its way better for corrs and fenders..with the higher to hit in tactics. Blaster changes..that work better on different ATs! Excellent.

Good to hear there was something for Dual Pistols.
  3. Ah well..there we go. I think that is pretty wrong, if you can get there alone with one power (that isnt aim/bu).

Also..the changes, the snipe ones I mean...far and away favour some sets. Dp gets nothing at all from it..nor does ice and elec. AR does..but its still lollethal. Then we have fire and beam, apparently two of the best damage sets..WITH snipes.

I can also totally get the point Light is making..about that part of the changes needong 'extras' to work best. It would be like if the stalker AS required to hit..to use unhidden.

Is the idea here to make blasters as an AT more desirable? Or just throw in a few buffs that make some sets even better, and do jack to others? (not talking about teh secondary changes there, since we dont know)

Because people don't find the differing ranges in blast sets fun, and the changes are to make Blasters more desirable to play.

Ummm. Ok. Does THAT mean all the other powers in blast sets are being tweaked? Such as AR having cones with different ranges..for no reason? Might make the set..you know..more desirable to play.

Thought..What is the base +to hit on Farsight? That + tactics..or just power booster FS would easily be 22% A fire time corr spamming blazing bolt..that doesn't sound a lil powerful.
  5. I really like the Snipe power change, It was one of the best suggestions from all the blaster improvement threads. Not sure if it will tempt me to try Snipes, but it makes sense. Are they capable of one shotting a minion now? I would think that should be a minimum damage aim..if you cant snipe someone in one hit..it isnt really a snipe.

Hopefully the secondaries get some interesting stuff.

Short range attacks becoming 80ft? Um...why? I thought the idea of short range blasts was that you got the damage, losing range. Sure..a bit more dangerous to get close, but since every secondary also has powers that are melee based..

I also wonder it the to hit req for snipes will include Kismet +acc. Thats 6%..slotted tactics for a blaster..12ish? Can almost get there alone..
  6. I find it has taken the power from being 99% useless, to very good. At what it does.

In fact, it was the entire reason I made a new grav troller, just cause I saw someone else use it..and it looks soooooooo cool.

One slot, and it is flat out the BEST ambush control you can ever get. Got a mob really close to the one your team is struggling to kill? Notice them getting aggro? Sure, you could immob/hold/stun them..which can all miss, get you so much aggro you die, overwhelm the team.

Or you can just slap down DS, which never misses, whild immob everything there, and more importantly..renders them unable to attack you. And now with teh changes, other team mates can lay debuff patches over the shifted mob, turning them into kittens for when you WANT to end the shift. Not to mention crazy scrappers being able to enter and attack, if then wish.

Great argument..and totally wrong. My blasters were fine..before IOs. I level them without any (but a few procs) and they are fine. I don't know where you pull your magical PAR from, but since all you seem to do is moan about how blasters suck..maybe you should just..you know..play something ELSE?

Nevermind the fact that blaster performance has nothing to do with doms, especially ONE power in a dom set.

Also..your argument that no one played doms why..because plant thorns had a cone and pbaoe? OMG, wow, how could anyone cope with that stress. Managing two powers. Crazy. I am amazed people who tried didnt end up rocking in corners and gibbering. Because again..using ONE example, that requires two power sets...is such a great argument, as to how the whole AT was someone wrong.

I know people who played doms pre IOs. And were flat out amazing, doing things I'd never seen (granted I was pretty new). As for holding up the recentish dom 'buff' (no +dam with dom) that some people call a nerf...it actually made the AT better, with less need for perma dom for some decent damage.

    Jocas = Joking??

Just because YOU got the jocas reference, not everyone did. The bit of history is very minor, for such a HUGE outcome.
  9. Your opinion is that they need fixing (and I am sure its all nice and backed up by data, good for you). And then you say..'not to convince the world they NEEDED fixing'. Which is it, they are or are not in need, you cant have it both ways. If you are trying to convince the Devs to fix them, clearly you think they DO need it, regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I don't think they need anything..a conclusion I came to after the crazy notion of playing blasters.
  10. MisterD

    Jocas = Joking??

I second what Ven says. Option C is rubbish. Maybe the Jocas isnt 100% left field, but it may as well be. Even the quote Tex gave, tells you NOTHING about it, besides that it IS a blade. Which you know..is pretty obvious since its the dagger of jocas..

I remember doing DD for the first time, and when the Doc pulls the dagger, out of his you know what, I was thinking..um, what? Dagger?? It is just too fortunate that it is around. Hell, why didnt Pappy Smurf, or Doc just stab everyone he could with the dagger if it is just so super awesome?
  11. If you dont think SoC is even a LITTLE OP on doms, you have no idea whatever.

I like how doms are now, with Ios and perma, however..I DID play them back when we only had SOs. By your own admission, you tried doms and didnt like them.

Now, don't take this the wrong way, but to me..that just puts you firmly in the camp with allll the other people who were too bad at the AT, to actually PLAY it without perma dom.

And Permadom itself. If you dont think that is OP, again, you have no idea. No other AT gets something as good as Dom, that is NOT even meant to be perma. The very fact we can do it, to me, is just silly, since ED was to stop similar things with other powers.

Much as I love my permadoms, and I really really do, if Domination got nerfed, I would totally still love them.

    Keep enjoying your crutch.
  12. I am with you WHF. I have 4 or 5 blasters..and none of them have ANY problems..as blasters. They didnt die a lot leveling up, they dont die much now.

Have said the same is all those silly (to me) threads about how blasters NEED help with this and that. I honestly think people are being greedy and expecting to much. Like the ones who want mez prot and shields.

Maybe from the extreme numbers point of view, they dont function as good as then should but Id bet a lot of that is people having no idea what they are doing.
  13. MisterD

    Jocas = Joking??

I asked EXACTLY the same thing in a different thread a few days back Agent. The topic was a lil different, and my question sorta hijacked it..but..

I still think its a cop out, 2 tiny mentions, and I doubt many people have even seen the Midnighter One. Even then, I dont think it says anything more than..Dagger of Jocas. We still dont know who or what it is..other than it had a knife and spikey bits. And considering the thing was basically the ONLY reason that most leagues can even kill Tyrant..a little more depth would have been good.
  14. I dont think so..the shifts dont change our actual HP right? So it wouldnt change regen, damage you can take, etc etc.

Also be sure to slap a Heal IO in rest, helps a lot of a squishy. And if you are doing it over night, be SURE the guide cant kill you as they often seem to cheat. Check he stays in melee too..sometimes they start with the crossbow and wont change back.
  15. I find CoT guides to be the best. Maybe it is not 'best' DPS exactly, but it is fast, and heavy enough to make the counter move. Also, there is no mez type effect (which a lot of brawl types do) to smack you out of rest.

With the lowering of the badge totals, you will get it pretty fast.
  16. The new Posi, and now Penny Yin tfs are some of my favourite content. In fact, I find myself running posi on alts that HAVE it, which there is no way in hell I would ever have done, for old posi.

There are just sooo many big and small differences between new and old, that make for a better playing experience.

New ones (posi and yin) are almost perfect length. You can speed many of the missions, if people are 50 or in a hurry. But you can also go slow, kill everything and come away with decent xp. (unlike numi, that is utter trash xp if speeding)

The missions are all varied, with maps, objectives and baddies all changing, unlike say..citadel and syn, where its almost the same mission again and again.

I think the worst thing about this content is how utterly shoddy it makes many of the older TFs look.

    Hybrid + Alpha

I'm not saying any of them aren't worth it. It just seems a bit unbalanced the some effects in incarnate powers work in tandem and buff each other..and others don't. But it would be nice to know that yes, your alpha would work with your own hybrid, without having to test or find out second hand.
Just feel that either they ALL should work that way, or just in no way buff each other at all.

Hopeling, I think I am misreading your 3rd paragraph (So if a damage buff..) above, or my cold meds are make me dumb. Are you saying that is how things work NOW, currently, or what would happen, is assault was buffable?
  18. MisterD

    Hybrid + Alpha

Oh, the passive bit (as in when the power isnt on, not the 'passive' +res melee gives with no targets) is unbuffable!? I wish I had of known that.

I know people are saying there isnt a buffable damage but..but WHY does there even need to be? Alpha damage works on Judgements..by just boosting the damage right? If that isnt a buff, it just changes/adds damage to the effect or whatever.

Likewise, why couldn't an alpha simple change the Passive +damage in assault? Why can't it just add/alter/magical stuff to the stacks (which are a power effect, they have a set name for each) and increase them to?

Other than the obvious..'devs dont want it to happen.'
  19. MisterD

    Hybrid + Alpha

Testing a damage boosting alpha now. Equipping the Hybrid THEN Alpha is giving 7.5%/11% per stack.
Equipping alpha then hybrid giving..7.5%/11% again. So the order you equip the boosts makes no difference. Nor do damage alphas seem to work at all. Not sure if this was done because the doublehit isnt +damage...but it seems a bit unfair to have NO effect on the passive bit.

    Testing +res. (cardiac/melee)With alpha: 8.40passive/1.20 stacks.
    Without: 7% passive/1% stacks.
Clearly +res helps a lot, especially at the T4, with the +3% res.

Testing +heal. (spirtual/melee)With alpha: passive 1.72hp/stacks 11.99 (i think, the info was jumping a lot)
    Without: passive 1.72/stacks 9.02
So..a tiny tiny difference with the alpha..seems very odd, considering the HUGE +heal that vigor and spir give to Rebirth.
  20. GSFC is pretty crappy in tactics. Actually, replace pretty with VERY. It used to be ok when you could but 2, one in aim, and build up...but in tactics. Be serious, in a normal mission it goes off about...5 times or less, and unless you are assuming said mission is a farm (ie, constantly swamped) it is very likely the boost will appear when you are not attacking.

I get this is 'your' top 10 list, but that does not mean others arent useful. Not including Kismet is awful..almost the same +to hit from base tactics, all the time, for free, and one slot? Yes please. And unlike the BU proc, you never have to worry about missing it.

Also, for EVERY single AT that isnt melee (and some melee sets to) you simple can not go past KB IOs. Look at your top 10, and think 'If you could only have ONE of those as a new player which would you take.' I say new player cause they wouldnt be sure what they actually need, and would be looking to get the most value out of a 'big' purchase.
Personally, I would take a KB io over that whole list in this case, as it would have the most benefit to play style and experience.

Naturally that changes when your 50 and have the cash to spend on anything.

Shouldn't the steadfast +def be higher than the gald? 5 mil vs 500? (or whatever it is)
  21. MisterD

    Hybrid + Alpha

In case anyone did not realise..alpha slot is working on Hybrid.

At least, the +res in cardiac is. Saw it go up form 16 to 19%..not to shabby. Was wondering, do the other stats work? Such as +heal, def, damage?
  22. I know what it was used for in DA..I did those arcs. And I didnt recall in from the MC before you guys mentioned it. Still seems a very obscure reference for such a huge impact.
  23. Ok, right..I feel a bit better that it WAS mentioned before. But..a single line in a book in the Midnight Club..that most people dont realise you can click? That is IT? The sum total of back story and lore? Let's just take a random line that could be turned into ANYTHING and make it the total center plot device of the whole thing!
..they did pull it out the hat.

Fair enough. What bothers me, and maybe someone who really studies the Lore can comment, but WHEN did Jocas (dagger of and quills of) actually appear? Because, until you hear about the dagger in DD trial, and the dream doc mentions it in his arc, I had NO idea who or what it is. I still actually don't..aside from those two objects.

Not that I can blame the story for giving things a weakness..but it all seemed to happen a bit to suddenly for me. The whole 'Oh Diabolique and Mot are hot and heavy, but wait! I have this magic dagger I prepared earlier that can kill them! What, you never heard of it?? Shame!' Well I feel I never heard of it because it actually is not mentioned prior..

I sort of can compare this to Darrin Wade's arc in shark. At the end, he hints at a really big task for you, involving Rulurru. Even if you were a brand new player, you COULD go find out more about this rulurru, from existing lore and arcs, so when the SSA rolled around you can say Ah HA, I see where it all meshes.

But this Jocas business? Did they pull it out of their...hats?

(Can't you just picture the Dream Doc sitting on a pile of rubble doing his best david attenborough impersonation, saying 'Luckily, I found this little beauty earlier!")

(While I am semi ranting..does Tyrant seriously have the least amount of attacks, of any AV? Handstomp, eyebeam, do we even count his lightning and self buff? Dripping power of the well..get 2 attacks! I can not WAIT to be level 60 myself.)
  25. I think thats what I meant Uber. Maybe. I remember when Interface was broken as hell in rain powers etc, then tweaked?
