Before this event, I had used the Queue ONCE to join an incarnate trial...and only really got in cause I was semi afk and didnt mind waiting.
With the four player teams Qing for the event..it seems to actually make the Q useful. Faster to reach 4 people that 8, less of a problem if one declines..just go again. -
Thats a good point Tex. When I was taking my dp/mm blaster through the DA arcs, on my own, I actually found myself running standard ammo a LOT..just to keep mobs on their ***.

Trouble is..for the players..kb is already 99>% removed from the game..due to -kb IOs being so easy to get. Remember before them, when you had to get accro? (back when it was good accro..mag 100)
Now thos Io can remove it..to a degree..from our effects. As you said..removing it almost wholesale from the game. -
Is it perma KD in nado? I cant remember if thats constant kb..or is it the stun thats just a % chance?
Am actually struggling to find powers I want to use the proc in on my toons. Aside from the obvious..my fire doms and stormies..
My /em doms..yeah it would work in Power Push..but I wanted that for the huge kb, as more control. Same for my dark blaster and Abysal Torrent.
Also doesnt help the set bonsues are..meh. At best. If it was 100% kd, in a power that didnt have it..hell yeah, Id be slapping in in throw spines etc etc..but just a chance? Better use for slots.
Of course that is another reason why it is so OP in bon and nado..those powers just need and can get away with one slot. -

To look at your second line there...the devs are saying that if they changed DP, it would be a nerf. How much closer can they GET to admitting they think it is OP? lol. I like your idea Leo. In fact..it is a very obvious and clever solution. SO obvious in fact..I cant help but wonder why the hell they didnt make the IO like this in the first place. -

Not to call your comment stupid Code..but it pretty much is. lol. Well..no..the IDEA that just because the devs dont see it as being OP..so it somehow becomes non-OP. If they really can look at how good bonfire is with this proc and say 'Nah nothing wrong there guys!' they have even less idea about their own game than I sometimes think.
(AE anyone?? Who couldnt see how that would turn out, assuming at least a massive 5 minutes of cox experience) -
Agree with Tex's comments. It is WAY too good. I was saying similar in another thread. If BF's kd ticced slower, so they could actually attack between the bouncing..maybe. But as it is..stupidly powerful.

I think I suggested this in another blaster thread..
What about giving Tesla Cage the dark blast treatment, and make it a high damage dot hold, like abyssal gaze? That would give it almost a 3 blast attack chain. -
Another good thing with the SS/Stone combo..rage will mean you can slot less acc in attacks..focusing on end red and rech..to deal with those debuffs.

Got it again just now. Clicked it..did 100% nothing that I could see. And our Grifter failed..so..whats the point??

For the summer event..
I have seen the temp you get as the Hacker..Hacker's Stealth I think?
Most times I go the Hitter or Grifter, and have NEVER seen any temps for them..yet just now, as Hitter, I got the following..
[Hitter's Gambit] with the info.. You pose as an administrator to throw Sylvia Rexson off course in her questioning of your team's activities.
Wtf? How does that work, since you never see her, as the Hitter? As even if the Grifter picked options at pose as an Admin (which Im not sure there is..), it is the WRONG set of options to get Perfect Grifter...
Also, the gambit power did nothing when I clicked it, and had a duration 8 seconds..
Any ideas? -
Yeah exactly Hopeling. The VERY fact it is so rare, makes it even less useful..because +res bonuses are so much hard to accumulate. And under 3%, for the catalysed version? What a load of crap.

I remember a big LAN I went to..The Big Day In, a few years ago. We all get in, set up (300 people I think) and the organisers are welcoming us. They say they can provide tech support..at 500 bucks a minute (a joke obviously) since they were there to just have fun.
Literally 2 minutes after teh event starts..a guy near me got a BSOD. And spent half the 2 days trying to get his machine going

Not just the proc that sucks..the bonus stuff is bad too. For one, no recharge.
Second, it is another awful example of how the IO bonus stuff is so heavily stacked to defence. We hardly have any sets that give +res..and when they do, its just to 1 or two stats..were def is alwats typed + posi. Not to mention on the ATOs, def values go up to 5%, HIGHER than the def uniques (which again, we have 2 of, compared to 1 +res proc) while the +res values start lower and end under 3, less than the proc.
Come on guys, give us some DECENT +res stats. WTF is the problem with +res, when +def is so easy to get and works better. -
Yeah I understand what you mean. No alpha will be a 'game changer' such as say..a totally kick *** but end sucking toon, suddenly getting cardiac and become awesome.
Load up your build in mids and play with the different alphas. Try Agililty, the def may be just enough to get other stats near soft capped or whatever. Try Spiritual..although that is harder to judge, since if will alter your end usage too. If nothing jumps out at you..you can ALWAYS use a bit more resists from cardiac, or more acc from vigor. -
That;s a good idea too. Since we are going to have..TWO sets using absorb and nothing else. Well..the tank and fender ato procs (round 2) have it also.

Well it would also help if you said what power sets you are..a bit.
As to why those..to repeat similar reasons I put in another thread..
Cardiac. Dark is an end sucker, cardiac has the best end red going, letting you also proc out some attacks (cause they wont need end red) and max your toggles. The +res is also a great help on a da with tough..since its a resistance set. The range..well...cant win em all. Also, if your end is great (im assuming pp and supcon since you have foc acc?) you could always try a different epic? Sub in leadership with tactics for foc acc (also getting confuse prot, which dark hasnt got) and something like soul mastery.
Vigor. Similar reasons. End red again. +heal, the biggest going. Yes you have dark regen..but this will just make it more awesome, freeing up slots (since dr is mostly heal/end slot hungry) for the +end proc etc. Accuracy allowing more damage procs, or again..a different epic.
Spirtual. Also could work. +heal and rech and good for DA. rech for attacks. But the extra might then throw your recovery out of whack. +stuns also is nice.
The others..
I heard Musc was not so good on a brute, with lowish damage modifiers.
Agility..end mod is a waste. The +def..usless unless your building for def, even then its minimal
Res...its just +res and taunt. WHo needs more taunt? Worthless set of stats there. -
Yeah I agree..these ones are nice. I cant actually recall WHICH ones, but there are quite a few that have utterly awful camera angles, with text boxes off the screen and stuff. They really ruin it..but these ones are excellent.

I agree that 7 toggles in a set, and needing them all, is not totally a bad thing. Ok, maybe not 7..cause most other sets have 3-5? More if the case or dark armour..but you can argue those 2 'offensive' ones can be alternated.
Stone would have..Rock armour, Brimstone, Crystal, Minerals..and Granite. Added to mudpots and rooted. Actually..changed my mind..that is a LOT.
But again..tweak the powers. The first 4 could stand to have much lower end costs, since atm, their cost seems based on a 'normal' set, and the idea if you dont have granite, you run all 4 (or 3..i forget if Minerals is exclusive). Lower the cost assuming the building together idea suggested, with granite coming last and capping off the set.
I mean capping as in, finishing. Not capping res or anything. The values before granite should NOT be as high as someone said..70% res, 20% def. Thats an insane amount without a tier 9. Only Invul could get near it, all while only hitting 70% on s/l.
Maybe 50-60% res to most? Some defence.
Then you would have a set with 7 toggles, a passive, and a heal click. Which is pretty similar to others. SR is a very pick hungry set..you basically want all 9. Invul also (i guess tanks could skip a passive and Unstop)..likewise Regen..you want nearly everything.
As long as the powers are actually worth taking..
I also love the idea of an inbuilt teleport, movement. Thinking something like teh Glacius guy in Killer Instinct, who melds into the ground and moves. Could be a bit much work though. -

I see CoX being in a very similar situation, but it was never popular enough to see the kind of rage or publicity SW:G ever got.
I hardly see anyone doing anything that isn't a trial anymore, the game certainly feels as dead as NGO SW:G did. With just the hardcore fans still clinging on and saying everything is better than ever. Very similar. -
But..it isnt that slow and weak with IOs. A brute wont really notice the -dam. A tank gets bruising and should not really be expecting amazing damage anyway. The - rech can be taken care of with hasten, ios, ageless. Speed well..with just granite going, it is just bearable. TPing works. Again, not a playstyle, not bad for everyone, but could stand to be a lot more friendly.
And why would keeping the same level of toughness be that bad? It IS so tough already, better that just about anything else in all situations. Regardless of people play it or not..it still is the toughest. You are saying..that making people want to play it is..bad?
By the same token, you say /Fire is clearly the most popular on Brutes. Oh, its being played a lot! It cant be played a lot AND good, right?
Something is always going to be the best/most played. Is wanting to take a set thats almost extinct, and have people want to play it, such an awful idea?
Also, read what we were saying. Keep teh overall toughness similar (hell, or lower it into 'normal' territory), but make it so the other toggles are worth and needed to be picked. That would serve to make the set LESS flexible than now, by far. Cause now, your just need granite, earth em, and stone skin! Damage aura if you want, mez prot isnt that needed. Meaning more set powers needed, less choice, less slot, less options. Just like a more balanced set. -
Quite a few interesting ideas.
I agree with the idea..stone is far and away the least used and liked armour..in SPITE, as you say, of being the toughest. I think, if anything, that fact really shows just how much people want fun and interesting and cool looking over the unkillable lump of...rock.
I played a stone brute ages ago, before IOs. And while it was stupidly tough, the drawbacks got to me in the end. Not being able to pick it up and play solo without a kin etc. Yes I know..people can and do play with no kin..I still think they need help. (the people that is)
Really like the idea on Granite being LESS of a 'pop one power and gain more than the rest of the crap set' power. Having it work together with the other toggles seems to fit more with earth to me..growing and helping.
Agree with less of a penalty..no other set gets almost crippled..just for wanting to use your darn mez toggle. Give it -jump if you have to. Or keep the regen as only when touching the ground..like the kb in Elec
Fix that look too. Granite..I can actually stand..but it is a total costume killer. The other toggles though..look mostly awful..and dont seem to go together in any way.
Regarding the -speed, rech, damage etc..I still dont see why any set needs a penalty. If the drawbacks, less good things arent inherent in the powers (aka, fire having no psi res), slapping on a debuff just cause the designers were too lazy to think properly, seems like a cop out.
I do sorta like the idea of Stone being the only set that can run a tier 9 all the time..assuming it HAS to be run with the other toggles, layering benefits..instead of the one awesome power, skip the rest, mishmash we have now.
Thought..THING..he would be stone armour for sure right? Is he really that slow?
