I realize leveling a /Stone anything will be a long process and a work in progress until I am done...but...this is what my final build will look like, and I was hoping to get a set of eyes on it for any tips/tricks I may have missed/overlooked. I have never actually bothered to make a /Stone toon before, but with Ageless and so many other things available today I thought I might try it...

First and foremost, Super Strength has A LOT of knock back... This is not usually a good combination.

Secondly, you have a lot of PVP, Purples and AT enhancements on this build. Those are quite expensive. Do you already have these? Do you have the money to make this happen?

I spent 9.5 bil inf on my last brute build....I will not be having issues with a high end cost on the build as long as it does what I want.

Secondly I have played Super Strength on several other toons, and I am comfortable with how it will play...the KB is not excessive, in fact it is mostly knock-up/down...

Um what. Most of SupSt is knockdown. I think the only kb power is Hurl..and its pretty crappy. Oh and HandClap..also crappy.
Rage is also great to balance that damage debuff.

I agree about the pvp and purple IOs.

My advice would be..make an SS/Anything but stone. If you can deal with it, great. It isnt a fun set.

I understand, but this is one of those times where I had a concept in my head, never rolled a /stone toon, and I thought...what the heck...why not?

Another good thing with the SS/Stone combo..rage will mean you can slot less acc in attacks..focusing on end red and rech..to deal with those debuffs.

That was my thinking in pairing the 2 together...plus if I can stack rage, then I should easily overcome the damage debuff and then some.

Just looking it over, there's really only 2 things I would want to change about it.

1st; I'd 3 slot Toughness with Aegis and use the slot freed up there for the FF proc in Footstomp. That should proc enough to give you perma hasten and help to further counteract the -rech in granite at the cost of just a bit of S/L/E/N while still being over the non-Incarnate softcap (you as I'm sure you know still weren't at it anyways).

2nd; I pefer this slotting for Granite, though without building for any further movement boni, it is kind of like peeing in the ocean of -speed that is /Stone:

Also, I can see you built for +HP too to fully leverage the regen from Rooted, but maybe look at removing one of the Erads from Mud Pots for a FotG to get you the -KB. That's a personal preference though because I like to run into a mob without having Granite or Rooted on sometimes to first engage and oftentimes (especially vs Malta) I'll get bounced out of the mob before Rooted or Granite finishes animating. But overall looks like a good plan.

Well I was going to post my build I found but it seems I accidentally overwrote that file with a PB build. Whoops :/.

But as Sir Hextor said, it's not a bad idea to use aegis in your build. for every two you slot you get 5% run speed which comes in handy. Currently my SS/Stone brute is at 39 so I'm not quite done with my build.

Usually once my run speed is high I'll do the trash missions using only granite since rooted can be overkill as far as mez protection, as well as the fact that resistances are generally very high so you're not going to get hurt much, making the run speed bonuses actually work. Mine cruises around 22+mph with just granite and when all said and done hopefully 30+ meaning I don't need a kin around.

Damage with granite is actually very surprising in that you will kill stuff. Stone is one of the few sets I think is 100 times better on a brute than a tanker for this reason.

Also be prepared to bang your head on your desk, as leveling will be painful till you hit granite. Not that the rest of the powers are bad, they just need a special build all of their own to really work properly.
