Quote:I enjoy fighting the Carnies. I play with bosses downgraded to lieutenants, so their bosses aren't as nasty. The only problems I have with them are when I have to take down a bunch of Illusionist lieutenants spread throughout the mission with a squishy character. They're awfully quick with their hold attacks, and I only have a few break frees on hand. That's a rare problem though. My squishy characters are much better off against Carnies than Malta.I'm truly interested in knowing who likes to fight them, and why? In my opinion, there are so many other better and less annoying mobs to fight, so why fight these guys? I'm not trying to be sarcastic or anything like that, I'm just genuinely interested is all.
My Magic Claws/Regen scrapper loves to fight Carnies. -
Quote:The same thing happened to me today. I thought he'd be near the Malta minions, but I didn't expect him to be invisible. In a couple of my missions I've had similar problems. There was one I did earlier today that required me to interact with Maelstrom. Only problem was he was completely invisible. It took several searches over the map before I found him. And even then, it was only because my mouse happened to go over him and I saw the blue rectangle around him.

Which contact gives that mission?
Edit: From the info I found, that appears to be Mother Mayhem, who gives you a choice to bring Vanessa in or not. -
Aggh. I made the mistake of trying the hero version of the "Malta Gunslinger Action Hero" tip mission (level 40). Wave after wave of Malta, each popping up before you have a chance to beat the previous wave, and each containing a sapper, and there were at least five waves before I went down.
I went to the hospital and auto-completed the mission. I'll just do the Vigilante version of that from now on, or auto-complete the Hero version without entering.
I like the new variety of stuff to do, but some of those ambushes are just sadistic. -
I was amazed to see two servers besides Freedom and Virtue being queued.
(Still not servers that I play on, thankfully. I didn't see any of mine reach red.) -
I installed GR this morning, and made a Tech Demon/Pain MM named Demonitronic. She's up to level 7 now, and heading down the Loyalist/Responsibility path. I didn't have any problems with the first two story arcs.
I started some tip missions last night, and I'll probably continue with that for a while now. -
You can travel to the other side, collect badges there, and join teams there. You won't be able to do the other side's missions solo for the most part, but you can do the Newspaper/Radio/Safeguard/Mayhem stuff.

Quote:I do that kind of thing for a number of my characters. They have a flight costume, and stick to flying in that costume. Most of the rest of my characters just fly without worrying about having a visible means of propulsion.2. My sword/shield scrapper only uses the powers in her Flight pool when she's in her first costume, her winged powersuit.
My character Birdy is an unusual case. Only one of her costume has wings, but she doesn't need wings to fly. The wings are just for show. Roleplaying-wise, she's more comfortable with the wings when flying long distances. -
I wonder if people who don't have Going Rogue can change alignment. You can get tips and earn alignment points without owning Going Rogue. I might have missed something, but I haven't seen anything that says you can't change alignment with I18 alone.

Freedom is full? Server queue?
This must be the best time to transfer to Freedom! It will be easy to find teams! Join the lemming surge! -
Many of my characters have preferred enemies. They'll go after story arcs and missions featuring those enemies first.
Riffle (level 40 widow) does missions randomly. I select a random contact, and select a random mission from the contact if more than one is offered. (I'm not sure how to fit in tip/alignment missions yet.) Riffle also must attempt to defeat every enemy in a mission, which includes activating all known ambushes.
When doing Radio missions, Birdy (level 50 tanker) always selects a hostage rescue mission if available. My other characters typically avoid those missions, but Birdy is dedicated to saving innocent people. -
Bleah. It's too bad they're giving us the freespecs with the release instead of waiting a week or so. I'll probably find a number of different things I want to change after launch.

It's a boost to the base speed of all flight powers.
-
I moved my only Freedom character to Pinnacle when server transfers first became available. I have no intention of playing on Freedom or Virtue. They're too crowded as far as I'm concerned.

Edit: The following information on Fly in this post is apparently due to a bug that will be probably be changed before long. There will still be a buff, but not as big of one as I first thought.
We'll soon be getting a new free respec, so many players like me may want to use existing freespecs before we lose them. (You can only have one freespec at a time on any given character.) Keep in mind that Fly has received a boost on the Going Rogue beta test server. I'm not sure if that's a general I18 buff or a specific Going Rogue buff, but it's a significant buff.
The current base flight speed is 14.32. That will be increased to 21.48. However, the maximum flight speed remains 58.63. That means a level 50 character will be at the flight cap without using any flight speed enhancements at all. (Meanwhile, I currently have level 50 characters on the live servers who are not quite at the flight cap even with three flight speed IOs.)
So with this change, there is really no reason to add enhancements in Fly to boost flight speed, unless you want an IO set like Soaring. Hover can still benefit from flight enhancements though, and also gets the boost to the base flight speed.
Nearly all of my characters use Fly, and I've added slots for flight speed, so I'll be using a lot of respecs this weekend. (I might simply convert the flight enhancements to endurance reduction on some characters though.) -
I nominate the the Eye Creatures.
Apparently they hope to invade by scaring humans to death. In the dark. Because bright light kills them.
(And yes, I meant to use "the" twice.) -
Quote:And I transferred my only Freedom character to Pinnacle shortly after server transfers became available.I moved all my significant characters off Pinnacle, to either Virtue or Freedom, and I ended up only losing one name of significance, Donnybrook, my MA/SR Scrapper, whom I consider my second main character, behind my forum namesake. Most characters I moved, I was able to maintain their name.
