Hmmm, this is kind of a prettied up version of a thread that got modsmacked last night. While it's a more reasonable suggestion than just esentially a 1-50 instabutton, I just don't see them allowing a player to bypass all of the grindtime required to get all of their badges, accolades and temp powers. It essentially shortens the characters road which could lead to a players shorter life in the game. (As opposed to just making a new character and leveling them to 50 and getting all the shineys)
It would be nice if there some naming tweaks where characters can be rerolled (without deletion of the prior toon) and still have their unique name without cute letter/number tricks. No it's not the same, but a way to make rerolls a little more palatable. -

The way it works is by applying mez protection to your character of exactly the magnitude of mez currently affecting you, plus one. It does give you mez resistance (which reduces duration of future mez) and mez strength (increases the duration of any mez you have), as well as a small to moderate heal. On beta "soon". Anything else was "you'll be hearing real soon" type things. Confirmation there will be new content in i24 (no details) and other new "stuff". All will be revealed "soon". An issue write up is coming "soon".

If Epic archetypes are make it or break it for you, I'm not so sure CoH is for you anyway. Such a small portion of the game and epic doesn't refer to them being "epic" or somehow "better" than other ATs it refers to them having their own specific storyline/contacts.
Plus- you get what you pay for. Wait... No actually you can get quite a lot here for free. Just not everything. The games not dead. The servers aren't dead. The playerbase isn't dead. -
You need go to the (beta)store and buy them. Then log out and back in and you should have your set.

While I enjoy the deep analysis, I can sum it up concisely (at least my perspective). Make a good Superman movie and people will flock to it. Give us the same dated, corny, uninspired drivel and people will continue to love [insert other comic hero] instead because they've had better movies. He doesn't have to be the outsider and all emo. He can be all powerful, that's ok too. Just make it well.
BUT! Give him an actual threat that doesn't involve some scrawny billionaire with the deus ex machina of kryptonite. Make him get into a good fight with a superpowered enemy that will actually challenge him (they don't have to win). It really doesn't have to involve an invasion of (easily CGI'd) alien hoards like almost every action movie uses now days. One really powerful baddie will do. You can make a good superhero movie, that is compelling and smart that doesn't involve overanalyzing the hero's state of mental health and does involve good action as well.
The reason we haven't seen a good Superman movie, is because nobody has made one. (Nostagia of the Reeve's first two aside of course. I say they are dated, but I do realize some people still love them so I'll give you that) -

I don't mind when a pack comes along that I'm not interested in. It just means I can save my points for a new powerset or the next costume pack (or shiny) that comes along that I really want.
There was a time when it would be forever before we'd see new costume items let alone entire sets and themes. With Freedom our options are overflowing. Personally I'm thankful for the sets I really want and for those I have no interest in. We could be getting the alternative: nothing. -

I just hope that it is the first "good" Superman movie without ridiculous plot holes. While Christopher Reeve did a great performance, the rest of the original movies, even the first two, had absolutely horrible writing with deus ex machina plot devices needed to win the day.
Superman 1: "you can't go back and change the past" . . . so he does just that to save the girl -- with no consequences at all. And an evil genius opponent who is actually a campy buffoon.
Superman 2: "You will lose your powers forever" so you can boink your girl. . . unless he needs those powers back again. And then he can magically re-wire the power-taking-away machine to work on the outside of the chamber instead of the inside. And "Thowing the S," one of the greatest stupid moments in film. And the Amnesia Kiss and several other stupid plot points . . . (And this is considered to be the best Superman movie to date?)
Do I really need to go into the stupidity of Superman Returns? or Superman 3 or 4?
We know that Zack Snyder can do great, gritty action that looks great. But will there be a plot that actually makes sense for once? I can only hope that with Nolan helping out, there will be a decent story -- but Nolan has his own plot holes in the Batman films, too.
My only issue is we're getting another Supes origina story. I only hope they get it right so we don't have to see another one anytime soon. We all know the story by now, even people who aren't into comics and comic culture. Please can we move on. And please no more billionaire real estate plots. Give him a credible super powered enemy and lets see Superman actually doing something beyond picking up big things.
As for Snyder, he seems to do fine with someone elses story/IP than his own. (I'm looking at you SuckerPunch) With Nolan and hiss track record adapting things, here's hoping we aren't getting another reboot in 5 years.
