  1. A whole lotta meh.

The wife not knowing how she was selected and who was responsible, when the process seemed absolutely transparent (via Taylor), struck me as sloppy. She really didn't know who the head of the Science Team was, when they were the person that made the recommendation and is ultimately (or it seems) their boss? It was already stated that it wasn't the lottery but her being a doctor that got them in. I know it's not that huge of a point, but it was one of those that just stuck in my craw.

Well I typically don't have a huge need for +regen on a squishy as opposed to a melee character. Not saying it's bad or anything, but what I really want on my trollers is recovery and in that department miracle takes the edge.

I typically look for recharge, +end and recovery on my controller builds. I find the procs aren't 100% necessary with how I usually build, but I'm an end hoarder and prefer to keep the blue bar filled. Especially on an active build that runs toggles. But I will usually try and fit at least one of the heal procs in a build if I can. On melee ATs I like both, on squishies Miracle takes precedence.

Put them in Health. Don't put them in a click power, put them in an auto. Honestly I'd probably just put a miracle proc in the native slot for health and call it a night.

Why did you put the Numina and Miracle procs in your heal aura, Negate?

(And it doesn't look all that expensive either)

Even if they can, I cant stand the sound effects or appearance of sonic.

As for rad traps corruptors, I figured that would be best, but traps is a bit odd for my concept. But I could work it in I suppose.

  7. Rad/Sonic corruptor? (Ok, so softcapping might be an issue, but you can easily cap s/l resists and probably get good range defense)
  8. Ahhh, now I see. I misread the first time through. Personally, if this were a teamed controller I'd disagree with that philosophy. But that's just one opinion.
  9. I think Local was talking about his personal Ice Shield toggle and Lewis was talking about his ally shield? Or did I miss something.

Do you find it sufficient? Where does the bulk of the damage come from? How is that patron pet? I have never used one myself, because of concept mismatch mainly.

    Anyway, just curious.

    Thanks,

Wasn't directed at me, but from my experience:

Teammates, mainly. (From my experience with my Ele/Rad/Mu) It's not high damage by any stretch, but it's not the lowest either.

Sufficient? Depends on how you define sufficient. Soloable? Yes, but Slow-loable. I team, so damage output isn't a priority on those builds not suited for damage.

I like the Mu pet mainly for concept since my character is a Mu Priestess. And it does help make up for gremlins lack of damage.
  11. Well, it's not a high damage set, but it can play aggressive. It's more aggressive/safe than aggressive/damage though.
  12. Far from necessary. If I have an extra slot I'll take a power like this. I tend to use it more reactionary than preventative, because yeah the need for status protection buffs doesn't seem "mandatory" in the majority of content.

I'll usually set up some kind of bind/macro that reminds the team to push (insert name of) button, usually Help! if they get mezzed.
  13. It's fine if used properly. I'm not typically a fan, but I also don't get bent out of shape if its not disrupting the team or if it's helping keep others alive.

If you could maybe put up the Mid's option that shows the powers and slotting may help. Many people look at these on comps (like work) that don't have Mids.

Think about it: Nathaniel Taylor could easily be revealed as a more hardline Emperor Cole like figure as time goes on. Sure he seems completely dedicated to his happy-happy-joy-joy "vision" of making Terra Nova succeed. But when push comes to shove he may become more dictatorial and unyielding with his people, thus showing a darker side. The Sixers already exist as a de-facto Resistance, and while they seem like the "bad guys" at this point they may well turn out to be the actual "good guys" in the overall story. And do I have to mention the obvious that the Terra Nova setting represents Praetoria while the old 2149 Earth represents "primal" Earth?
That's totally the impression I got as well.
  17. And yes spectral terror is good out of the box with a single recharge IO or maybe even the psi damage from from Malaise in it. If you are tight on slots just go native on ST.

Its not like your having to run tough, weave and other toggles to do this.

    Farsight (2 defense Io's) + Frozen Armor(2 defense Io's) + CJ (1 Defense IO)= 37% s/l

Throw in a Steadfast +3 in Frozen Armor and some better slotting and your about at 41% very easy to make up with either maneuvers, Group Invisibility or some other set IO's.

Still leaves you plenty of room to slot for recharge and have end redux in your powers.
Downside mentioned wanting to go cardiac because they felt the combo was end heavy. Focusing on softcapping is hurting recovery, which I contend is more important that not getting hit because those powers help you from not getting hit in the first place.

It is my contention (and a few others here in the troller forums) that the most important set bonuses for a controller are recharge, +end and recovery.
  19. But if you are constantly running out of end or having end issues, what good is softcapping? You have more of a job to do than not getting hit. I don't even think powerboost is all that important here either. Between your primary/secondary/epic shield you are plenty safe here. You have a -to hit aura, all kinds of slows, distraction from PA, a good click defensive power, add to that a shield (resist or defensive), you'll be fine that's tons of mitigation. Just a simple understanding of aggro management and you'll be standing the whole time.

To the PA next mob question: I turn off T Juncture, turn on SI and run just past the mob. Once PA has aggro I retoggle TJ and hit them with the slow patch.
  20. Ill/Time (at least in my experience so far) is mixed, not just ranged. You can get pretty decent defense numbers with just foresight and something like maneuvers. If end is such an issue for you why not go for recovery and +end in the build that way you can also go spiritual. I agree with Local on softcapping here. You have so many tools to help you with aggro on an Illusion controller, (that's kind of the point of illusion) that you should be fine without sacrificing rech/end/recovery.
  21. Holy thread necro, Batman.

  23. Can we just rename the Suggestions Forum 'jranger'?

    What?
  24. From a practical standpoint I find myself going into melee to take advantage of my aura. Now mind you I'm teamed with a very capable tank that leaves me relatively aggro free. While I'd agree that there are reasons Illusion plays more ranged there are things like the aoe heal and powers like flash that require you to be in melee at least for a time. I find me waiting to ensure the tank has aggro, cast PA, then Distortion Field then run in. It's safer than you'd think on the surface, and this is all before spectral terror, farsight, slowed response which will all make it even safer. YMMV
