Don't go by freedom being grey. Trying to select the others leads to a lockup and time out - for me, at least.

Only one I see down is Freedom right now.
Edit: But it certainly doesn't like trying to let you in to anything else, either. -

Quote:And I thought the rednames would be going "oh, god, HE's back...."I hope your friends here in the CoH Community can provide you some comfort in a stressful time.
(For the record, I still think there should be lower level DA content building up to what's in I22, even if it's through Ouro... but that's neither here nor there.)
I'll say this, though - the COH community is without compare. It's one thing that's... disappointing in almost any other MMO - hopping onto the forums and finding, oh, 1-2 people that are civil and helpful, while the rest... let's just leave it as "aren't."
Here... well, good folks, in general. There are some things I think would have been much harder to get through without some of the people I've met through COH. -
Quote:Thanks.I said... I JUST SAID to myself yesterday, as I was reading a post (don't even remember what or where): "Man, I miss Bill. He'd have something good to say regarding this."
Good to have you back, even if it may be only temporarily. My condolences as well.
And are you saying I need to make more copypastas for when I'm not around? -

Doing a QR here...
Having just come from there, and having played a few other games, I think Arcana (unsurprisingly) hits a lot of things right on the head.
There are things that my friends (from here) and I seem to find ourselves referring back to COH on fairly frequently:
- Travel. Just getting people together - even on the same planet - can take ridiculous amounts of time. If they're on different planets... yeah, take a break while you wait.
- Communication. You can make custom channels. And hope you, and everyone else, remember to join them. On each character. One of the biggest repeat comments I recall hearing is "God, I miss Globals."
- Teaming - is awkward. And really, a four person team still feels too small to me. It doesn't "feel" like things scale properly, either (well, properly in COH terms.)
That's aside from a few other complaints, which I carry across from other games. I mentioned in my "I'm back" that I was just looking forward to getting a bunch of guys around my tank to smack down. Most other games... if you have two (and I don't mean via crowd control, 1-2 locked down, concentrating on one, I mean having two things beating on you,) you may well be in trouble. A certain other winged NCSoft game, at least in the early levels... well, my Spiritmaster (think that's the type) let me finally do taht somewhat safely. Unless we got anything even slightly stronger than usual.
- And the one thing that just ticks me off to no end... insta-healing enemies. Yes, you defeated me. My corpse is here. Why are you now at full health? Regen, fine. If there's a medic, great, I can live with that... but otherwise, it's just frustrating.
However, I do also think/agree that too many others in the MMO world - both players and developers - are stuck in those standards, and not enough would look at how COH approaches things. Which is a pity. -
The launch of City of Heroes (or, in some cases, City of Villains.)
I'm too much of an altaholic to have "a" favourite. -

Quote:To be honest, I was pretty surprised when I saw that it spit out large inspirations. I expected mediums at best. I wouldn't say it was game-breakingly good, but it did seem too good to be true for sure. On the other hand, the nerf isn't game-breaking either. We all did just fine without the power, it still provides a benefit, just not the instant you log in if you logged out right after using it before.
/nod
I'd pretty much file this under "Slightly disappointing," if anything. Honestly, the way most teams seem to go, by the time everything gets organized and you hit that first mission, it's going to be recharged.
Solo's another story, of course... just don't use the mission teleporter. >.> -
Quote:Honestly, giving the market a quick look-see, I'd say it's doing a (fairly) reasonable job of catering to both. I suspect some of it's just not being seen due to VIP status (giving some of the power sets free while you're VIP,) which is giving a bit of a skewed impression.Though I agree some things should be free for all, like finishing power customization, the market should try to cater to those of us that don't care about vanity items.
They seem to be doing a fairly decent job of hitting a wide range of interests, given the IOs, temp powers, costumes and powersets (and given the time taken to develop each.) -
... so, desert zone with creepy hotel in I23? >.>
*sings*
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
full of sand from that passing superspeeder over there
Up ahead in the distance, I saw some shimmering lights
Obviously an incarnate trial, Judgements popped left and right....
And thanks everyone. Kinda nice to be missed! -
Since it's my major stated reason for coming back...
Part of it's going to depend on what my friends (who also are currently not in game, but hopping back in for DXP) run and where. And on my two main servers (Pinnacle and Victory,) I can't seem to throw a rock without hitting one of my 50s.
Really, I can't. They've complained.
That said, I do have a few characters sitting at, oh, 40-41 I'd like to "finish." Keres Mot, my Ice/Dark Corruptor, is probably at the top of my list. I have a lot of fun with her - but she's been stalled at 40-ish even before my break. Cobriza, my Crab, mid-30s. Firing up a Dark/Dark Dom, getting some progress on a 29 Elec/Elec dom (yeah, I do tend to start matched sets at first,) ...
I've got a few to work on. >.< -
Quote:You want a Reese's Peanut Butter Kheld. Not precisely what I wanted to hear ^_^" but an honest answer nevertheless. Well poop. I feel like my PB is my ST DPS king and my Warshade is the mob cruncher. I wish there was a way to meld the two because I hate feeling like I'm doing too low damage on AV's/GM for my League/Team.
... now to come up with just what that would be. Personally, I'd say don't worry about feeling like you're doing "too low" damage in specific situations - as log as you're contributing and not sitting back eating Jello most teams won't care. -
Quote:Eh, perhaps.I think they also changed the name to avoid confusion. IO's can be traded or sold between players, and far too many people would assume without reading the description that they could buy market "IO's" and sell them at the CH.
The name change, market descriptions, and dev statements about them being "Attuned" allows them to demonstrate to the willfully ignorant that they warned people about the critical difference between the two types of enhancements before they purchased them. Now it's a matter of caveat emptor.
Makes more sense to me, at least, to think of them as a subset (I suppose) of IOs. I think it was more the vehemence of the "This is not an IO!" that got me chuckling at it.
Doesn't make a difference either way, of course -
And no, you don't have to be a certain level. (Just to answer the other question.)
Visual aid time - since if you haven't been here a while, the email tab's changed a bit.
... hit "Claim all," and prepare to watch all the "awarded" messages pop up for 2-3 minutes. -
If they don't, check down in Multimedia/Fanart, too.
-
Yeah, not the right area - there's actually a Mac specific area in player help, and those folks will probably know better. A lot of what I find looking for screen capture is just dealing with screenshots, too.
I'm going to guess most solutions are going to be Quicktime based.
If you have a PC handy (I know...) a bit of a workaround if you can't find anything else would be to save whatever you're doing as a demo (/demorecord demoname and /demostop demoname) and copy that demo file over there to record - but some native software would be good, so check the other forum first. -
Quote:Y'know - and I don't mean this to pick at you, don't take it that way - but this is really splitting hairs.Wrong.
THERE ARE NO IOS FOR SALE ON THE PARAGON MARKET. AT ALL. ANYWHERE.
This is an IO:
This is not an IO:
Archetype Enhancements are ALL attuned. Only the Superior version are account-bound. And they have the same icon as Store Bought Enhancements, because, like SBEs, THEY AREN'T IOs.
You are right, they should be more clear. However, there have been redname posts from the first day these went live confirming that these ARE NOT IOs, and DO NOT need an IO License.
Kind of reminds me of Jack's "We're making no more major, sweeping changes to powers." Just before they hit us with ED, which made major, sweeping changes to ... how powers could be enhanced.
Technically correct, but not exactly *honest.*
(Again, not pointing that at you, Roderick - especially with mention of it being mentioned by the devs.)
The most honest thing for them to say is that "IO sets you've purchased with real money (via points) are called 'Attuned' and this special type will be usable even without an IO license." -
Quote:Now wait 30 minutes (or 30 hours or whatever) and then log back in. You'll find that every other power has recharged during the time you were logged out, but not the inner inspiration power. At least, that's what I think you'll see. I actually filed a petition because i thought the power had broken. Now that I see this thread, I'm just annoyed. Not a big deal, but still annoying. Seems like an excessive fix to what seems like a trivial exploit.
OK, then if that's the case, I've misunderstood. It sounded like one use was preventing the use on other characters (or causing a "dead time" to show up on others.) That's what I was testing for.
That said - logged back on to the first character I mentioned (and it's obviously been a few hours) and no, it's not recharged. Grey and looking full size, yes. In which case - I'd have to agree, that's a bad change, IMHO. I don't mind if it's within that 30 minutes, but past that (and it's been nearly 3 hours, going by the time on that last post) it's a bit excessive. -
NP.
Just hopped on liberty - same thing.
Hero: Ate 3 insps to make room. hit inner inspiration. Awarded inspirations. Log to character select.
Hero2: Log in, immediately hit Inner Inspiration, awarded insps.
Total time between: Under a minute.
I'm really not sure what's going on with yours.
