Meh, don't let 'em get you down. You certainly wouldn't be the first person who PL'd to 50 solely to unlock VEATs - which is kindof sad IMO because a lot of the arcs picked as "best arcs" are 40+ content in Grandville ...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /this.

Yes, you're in a rush - but seriously, if you do decide to PL, stop at the 40s, play Kur'Rekt, play Phipps, make sure you play the Television and von Grunn, and don't forget to unlock your Patron.

Oh, and once you do get a VEAT, don't bother with their arcs. Unfortunately, they suck so badly that starting one vacuums every house in a 500 mile radius. (Well, do them through lvl 10, since you get a costume slot.) You know they're sad if I, a content hound, say "skip them." >.<

  4. ... such as what?

About the time City of Hero launched in Korea, we had some "oriental" pieces added (the various MA robes, etc.) as well as hairstyles and such, as I recall.

While it'd probably be a booster, versus an expansion, what sort of things are you looking at for it?

(And I'd guess they'd mostly go in Jay's Costume Request Thread.)

    So, my question is basically, how do you deal with this crash, what tactics do you employ to a) detect when LF is about to crash;

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Watch for the flashing icon

    [/ QUOTE ]
    b) protect yourself after LF crashed while you wait to regenerate and recover?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If the fight's not nearly over, have a blue and Qfly ready. You can combine/heal/retreat/whatever else you need to do with the extra time.

Of course, I tend to save lightform if I know there's a boss or some such coming up. Don't think I've had to worry about a mid-pivotal-battle LF crash.

    PvP farming

    [ QUOTE ]
It is not a bug or a glitch. It is an exploit plain and simple. The ones rezzing as soon as they are killed are doing so without wakies. They are using an outside program to cause them to keep getting up without using a wakie.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, a group I know of (and have argued about this with) plants themselves right by the contact in BB because they most certainly *are* using awakens. A 50 can hold quite a few - and buy them quickly.

Yes, I watched them for a while - die, rez, die, rez several times - then a several second pause before the next round of rezzes. That, repeated, was enough for me to believe that they're just burning awakens left and right.
  7. I'm not sure how Crey would pull that off - they've got a few PR folks out, true, but others (as I recall) are harassing passersby for ID and such.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rewrite with Crey, though. The "Oh, I guess that must be a rogue scientist embezzling funds for unauthorized research, we'll look into it, thanks for telling us" gets old fast blueside.

Of course, the end of the Revenant Hero arc - just that last room - is one of my favourites.

    Ill/Sonic pve

    [ QUOTE ]
Is this for teaming or soloing?

If it is mainly for teaming I would recommend the following powers from Sonic...

All three shields, Clarity, Liquefy, Sonic Disruption, and (if you feel you would use it on AVs) Sonic Cage.

If it is mainly for Soloing, I would skip Clarity and instead take Sonic Repulsion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    We have dual builds.

Use them. One for teaming, one for soloing. Dropping the ally shields (but not the debuff!) can ease a build for days when you're soloing.

(Ill/Sonic I've been slowly working on for quite some time. Not posting the builds because I'm not particularly happy with them right at the moment -t hey need to mature more.)

Now, don't get me wrong, dave. I'm not dismissing what fire can do damage wise, but I believe control should be a priority.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Run a Fire/Storm. Great control while you have the End.

That said, after all this time I did finally roll up a Fire/Kin. Mid-teens at the moment, I don't feel any *lack* of control - but I am looking at damage here, as well, since my other controllers were... er... lacking in it with secondaries that didn't give a great boost. (Earth/FF, Ice/Emp to 50, others all through the levels - we're talking lower end of the damage scale.)

Then again, I roll up controllers *to* control. (Part of why Ill just irritates me despite so many people loving it.)
  10. Interesting bit of debate on Salt Crystals

I'd say its problem, for me, is not (just) it being a sleep, but PBAOE. But, part of the decision on its usefulness (or not) is likely also going to come from what secondary you choose.

The reason I say that, honestly, is Ice control. Specifically, Arctic Air. My Ice controllers, who tend to stay at range - never touch it. They're almost never in melee. (Ice/Emp, Ice/Rad - though that one's a bit low.) On the flip side, though, my Ice/Psy Dom has it, uses it, and loves it - because she's in melee *very* often. It's right where she needs to be.

For my Earth 'trollers - SC has the issue of (a) being an easily broken sleep and (b) being in a range that I'm typically not in, so really, for me, the power may as well not exist. I'm not sure how well it would work in an Earth Dom's chain - hop in, hit that then your PBAOE attack just for the -def, perhaps. Or, controller wise, with /rad or /kin. *shrug* It's just a not-quite-fitting power to me.

But hey, if you can use it with your playstyle, more power to ya

Diablo 2. Diablo just had potions pop out of orifices when enemies died.
  12. I thought that was just Frostfire, not the entire group. I could be remembering it wrong, admittedly.

Still, that would be interesting - given the atmosphere of the Isles, I could see a group getting together for their own protection and turning "heroic."

Hurry up, purchaseable MA slots! *sigh*

Using "Heroic" as a search term, when it's one of the default filters? I'd have shown that in "Morality," and picked something else ("Tsoo," for instance) as a search term.

Related to that, i'm a bit baffled by releasing that particular one *now,* when there are going to be so many other filter options released.

Anyone who doesn't realize that RMT spam drives more people away from the game than it brings RMTers in is an idiot.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Really? Do you think anyone has actually quit over RMT spam?

"OK, but don't use your armors, they clash with my character's look when you're on the same screen. And quit using that big attack, it just doesn't go with my theme. Stick with brawl, please."

Or whatever else is AT appropriate.

The closest I've had to this was someone wanting to duel one of my Stalkers - but telling me not to use Hide. They wouldn't turn off their armor in return. I think they finally got the point. (Or rather, the fist. And kick. And...)

The only time I've had serious complaints about bubbles was with the old Sonic graphics - and that wasn't aesthetics, that was "they make me physically ill."

    [ QUOTE ]
    1. A "holding area."

So you want to rearrange your base. You've got a room full of storage, a pair of teleporter rooms, crafted control items and more.. and you find you *just can't* move things the way you want. Well, you could, but you'd end up deleting some of those items, losing at the *very* least the salvage used to make them. You could, if you have the Prestige, upgrade the plot, move things around, then shrink the plot. Or delete less-used rooms while you shuffle things around.

More useful, to me, would be a "storage area" to the side, either graphically or as a list ("In storage: 3x Teleporter, 4x Salvage Rack (used,) 1x Salvage Rack (empty)") you could pick from when you want to bring items back.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This, of course, would have to be offered in different sizes at the cost of prestige.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The holding area isn't permanent - just a place to shuffle things off to the side while editing. Just in case that wasn't clear It doesn't exist when not editing, or hold things from one editing session to another.
  22. I've mentioned elsewhere having a list of things I'd like to see done, base-wise. This isn't decorative - there is, as I recall, a sticky for that in the base builders section. This is just a general wishlist of suggestions.

    Editor items

    2. Graphic aux-item linking.

I'm thinking primarily of beacons with this, as it's not really an issue with some items (Control items, for instance.) Let me drag-and-drop a line to 'connect' an item such as a beacon with the main item (such as a teleporter) it's to be used with.

    3. No fixed doorways

This has always been one of my biggest irritations when it comes to base editing. I have two rooms with a perfectly valid path between them - but the default door is one 'block' over, so the placement is "invalid."

Just check that there's another room nearby and let me place it, or better yet, check that all paths are valid at the END, and let me have...

    4. Hallways!

If I want to place a room two units/squares/blocks away from another, with a slightly longer hallway, I can't. Three? Sure, with a chokepoint. Let me 'draw' hallways - including right angle turns and the like. And since I'm doing that...

    5. Items in hallways

Not storage and such, as those should (to me) cost a bit anyway - but let me put lighting, pictures, and decorative items in the hallways, especially if we're getting longer ones from item 4.

    6. No trim option/trim where there is none now.

It breaks when you place things on the floor, on the walls, at hallways. Let me pick "No trim" for ceilings and floors. Also, as I recall... there's none in hallways. If I pick trim, let me have it in the hallways as well. (While I'm at it, why does all the trim seem to be two feet thick instead of a thin, extra bit of detail? Thinner trim, please!)

    7. Consistent, predictable color

I can't, for instance, make a black floor. I can make a greyish floor, or one that looks like dirty wood, or slightly less dirty wood, even though I pick black. Some textures seem to completely ignore color choices, as well. Really, if I want fluorescent green gravel and hot pink sewer walls, let me have them, not "slightly kinda-sorta tinted maybe with this texture yet garishly bright in other textures."

    8. Pipe dream - freeform rooms.

Let me "draw" generic rooms and designate them for specific uses. Might have to be a PVE-only feature to avoid raid 'unfairness' when raids are turned on. They wouldn't have to be square - I could use some of the odd-shaped spaces that currently are just gaps in bases, even if it's a purely decorative room. Pay for the space, then pay additional for functional use as the plot allows.

    Base items

    1. Better power/control progression

Right now, we go from Combo Power/Control and the Oversight room (75k total) to the full fledged generator, generator room, control item and control room. It's a big leap. Let me:
    - Create an "Upgraded Combo Power/Control item" at, say, 75k
    - Place it in either a Power room or a Control room
    - Create a "Minor Generator" and "Minor Control" item.
    - Use the oversight center as a dedicated Power or Control room. Let the Combo and/or Upgraded Combo stay, as well as one *or* the other of a dedicated Power item or Control item.

    2. Smaller Enhancement storage.

Right now, for nearly 100k, you can hold 100 enhancements. Which is great, don't get me wrong, but for a smaller/starter group, being able to hold, say, 33 or 50 at a lower cost would be nice. The same with Inspirations. Salvage, at least, is cheap... though I'd like to see items that hold *more.*

    3. In place upgrades

Related to #2, if I get a, say, 33 piece Salvage storage item for a while and decide "OK, we have the prestige, time to upgrade!" - let me select it in the base editor, pick "Upgrade to..." and pick (and pay for) larger capacity, leaving the items that are already IN there in place.

    4. Upgraded teleporters

... to a point. Let them take up to three beacons, perhaps, maybe four, with a correspondingly higher cost. (And more styles of them, please...)

    5. Upgraded single-teleporter room

Right now, it's barely worth putting in, holding only one beacon. Let me put two in. I may only NEED a little room with two more beacons, as opposed to either a bigger teleporter "space" or two of these, two teleporters, etc. Even if it's, say, a 10k upgrade. (See #3 in this section.)

I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things here that I typically end up wanting, and it's purely a wishlist. But I'd be quite happy to see these changes and additions. (Also, just so PK doesn't think his work goes to waste, blame the coloring on his COHFOE offline editor. )
  23. [ QUOTE ]

Last I heard, they tried and ended up making it WORSE.

    [/ QUOTE ]

They hit some bugs initially (could not place objects on certain walls,) but AFAIK the problems have generally been dealt with. Having a little more freedom to place things can be useful...

That said, the base editor needs a revamp, badly. A storage area so you can temporarily move items without deleting them (in the case of storage and crafted items like teleporters) for one. I've got a bit of a list as far as what I'd like to see for bases.
  24. Dressed up a bit, huh... well, there's:

    Medi, lower right.

    Caduccia, upper right.

Slightly less formal, Violet, lower left. (the outfit Sorah put her in the D in, so there's precedent >.&gt

There's always a classic tux, too. (MB.)

  25. I've had that conversation a few times.
"You know you spelled felony wrong, right?"
"I would if I were spelling felony... look at the character."

... and some people still don't get it. *sigh*
