Quote:No, really, you should let them determine who gets which one. Though a shift bid is kind of silly with two mods.I dig compromise.
Hear that, Mod 12? Your new schedule is Tue-Sat. Ocho, you got Sun-Thu.
Enjoy!
Maybe they can settle it with a mod-wrestling match. -
Yeah, the big question is "How to fit it into the rest of the world."
I could see it as part of an arc or two ("we have to send you back to deal with XYZ") but as an entire zone... eh... less so. We know they'll spend time creating "limited use" art assets (see: the Eden trial) so it's really a matter of giving a case of "why" and "it's worth it." -
What, the badges aren't enough for you? Sheesh, greedy...

/signed. -

Yeah... that mission.
First time I ran it, Frosty died in seconds, followed by me - seeing something like this come in almost all at once:

Since then, I've made sure to drop my difficulty down to x1 for it. >.< -
Can you hold off 'til after I19? Inherent fitness working in forms will be quite useful.
Also, how "only" do you want to be - do you want to use Human form's mire/stygian? -
With the right software, you could probably do it yourself if you owned the game. (I snagged them from a few just using Bink to view them. Including some from the original Diablo that aren't used in game - like the Butcher's chamber.)

Quote:Heh, not a problem. I'm going from experience, as I've seen certain threads in the past (after posters get suspended or banned - specifically talking about them and why they should/shouldn't have been) get locked down.I'm sorry if I'm coming off as argumentative at you, M_B, since I respect you as a poster and you are so ften right about things.

Maybe I should have just stuck with "/signed".
This is more suggesting NCSoft staffing changes, to me. -
Quote:Sounds different from what he's talking about, at least from what I got on that first readthrough.I dunno, MB. If the company that produced the trailers for SWTOR were to create a feature length movie of those trailers and add in content to bridge them all together... I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
And even at SWTOR quality, I wouldn't drop $20-$30 on it. I rarely drop $20 on a normal movie. (Admittedly, no Blu-Ray here, which tends to be more expensive, but still.) -
... $20-$30?
For a movie made of in-game cutscenes?
He's an idiot. -
Quote:Actually, it wouldn't.Ironicly, I'm pretty sure that this very thread actually meets the criteria for something that would get locked/deleted if posted on a weekday. Reason: "discussion of moderator actions". (I'll check to make sure and edit this post if needed)
We're not discussing a moderator action ("Why did this thread get locked?" "So-and-so got banned, about time/so unfair!") and the like, but the state of the forums over the weekend due to a lack of available moderation. -
Quote:I agree, in general - but I have to point something out here. Namely that the number of badges for AE was *reduced* some time ago specifically because of what it was doing to AE. Make badges for plays, you'll see arcs set up, run, removed, re-entered, run, removed, etc. so the obsessed badge collectors get their "bigger numbers." I don't think those would help AE in general.
There needs to be rewards for playing AE that goes beyond farming tickets. Badges, badges, badges. One of the easiest things that could be added to motivate people. Maybe a You played 100 player created mission badge or the like. Costume pieces, ANYTHING, it doesn't have to be monetary.
And,

That said, I'm going to play Devil's Advocate for a moment. A farm arc that was written on a particularly good day could feasibly meet your criteria and get HoF before a dev does anything about it - IF a dev does anything about it. Heck, going at it with the knowledge that all it takes is 100 5 star runs, a person can write a mediocre to bad arc and make the grade using some well-timed advertising among friends and SG mates.
The rating system, in general, needs revamped. The arcs that are there need trimming to get rid of old farm arcs, invalid arcs, etc. The way the system and arcs are presented needs to be revamped. And this *is* one spot we need continual developer (or at least community rep) work on - Dr. Aeon had, on occcasion, arc "challenges," but I can think of two, maybe three that were done. This should be weekly to bi-weekly "spotlighting" to let people see what's being done (and rekindle some interest in creating something of your own.) -
Quote:Now that I can get behind. (At least with my controllers, 32 and up, I can toss a bubble on the pet first - is that flashing? Then everyone else is going to need a re-buff. Either that or use Herostats ingame display.)I would just like if there was a setting in the options, where we decide what buffs are shown, to "show only buffs provided by me." That way, if there's another bubbler on the team, or even just a bunch of folks with leadership, it's a bit simpler for me to see which of my teammates I still need to buff, or which buffs are wearing off, without confusing my buffs for the other guys, or having to deal with a huge string of icons covering half my screen.

Quote:However, given the dev team's history and general view, not having an "exact formula" doesn't matter. Unless something is underperforming in some way, enhancing a power will result in an extra cost somewhere.Since there is no exact formula for buff length/effectiveness, increasing the length shouldn't require a decrease in effectiveness or an endurance increase.
Example of underperforming:
Electric Armor / Energy Aura - Given a self heal to compensate (mixed in with the end drain.)
Example of "wish list" reply:
Giving actual control to Controller pets means they will be less durable or do less damage.
The buffs are not underperforming. ("I don't like applying them this much" is not underperforming, it's personal opinion.) Therefore, increasing their duration will be "paid for" by an increased END cost or decreased effectiveness (or something else.) -
Hmmmmmmm.... picking some from my collection:
The Manchurian Candidate. The original one. Yes, its portrayal of the Chinese and Russians are admittedly ... let's be generous and say "very stereotyped," but given the time it came out, it's to be expected.
Plan 9 from Outer Space. The "worst movie ever made." But come on, if they're going to review, they HAVE to experience this. (Admission: I haven't sat all the way through.) Alternately, do a double feature of this and "Ed Wood."
The Court Jester. "The pellet with the poison..." Danny Kaye movies just aren't played enough either (White Christmas excepting, and that's more because of Bing Crosby) so it's doubtful they've seen it. And certainly not depressing.
I'd say Dead Again, but it's rated R. Mostly for violence, I suppose.
The Breakfast Club. It's one of *the* 80s movies. See what they think now. -
Personally, I like keeping them by table - specifically for the permissions issue - but if they can be combined (with permissions determining who sees what, or 'greying out' unavailable enhancements,) I'd be fine with that, too.

It's one of those useless little "Why did they not put something else with it" set bonuses - Debt Protection. Admittedly they've done more to the game that makes debt even more of a non-issue since I9, but even when they were introduced, I don't think anyone was jumping for joy at seeing Debt Protection bonuses. (Especially at 1%.)
Still, out of curiosity (and boredom,) has anyone ever tried throwing together a "Debt protection" build - just to see how high you could get on it? (No, I don't think anyone would do this in game, this is more of a "Play with mids" item.) -
Quote:One more job (or three, if you look at shifts,) which are three fewer unemployed folks, which helps the economy! They may need a supervisor, as well, though that could be on-call - four jobs.Honestly, I'd consider adding a weekend mod to be a waste of money.
COH Forum Weekend Moderators - to help the economic recovery! >.> -
So, it was time for me to go and work on the SG enhancement and salvage bins for one of my SGs. Now, salvage isn't too bad - I decided to add another salvage rack and do a bit of organizing, but every type of salvage has just one name, no range, etc.
When I got to the enhancement bins (Standard, Common IOs by range, Set IOs) - it's a mess. Since I generally do a good chunk of the crafting there, level-range wise it's not bad (I have to shuffle some over,) but trying to sort through them? Here's one -
Lvl/IO
30 - Taunt
30 - defense
30 - Acc
30 - Damage
35 - Acc
30 Resist
30 - End Reduction
25 - Jumping
35 - Run
25 - Damage
30 - Slow
25 - End mod
25 - Acc (which I have to make fewer of, apparently.)
And let's not get into the set IOs.
Simply put, I'd like to have these arrange by name/type and level, preferrably automatically - so they resemble NPC stores, really. Set IOs can go by set name, piece, level (so, say, Posi's 35 Acc/Dam, Posi's 37 Acc/Dam, Posi's 35 Dam/Range, etc.) -
And how much less effective are you willing to let those bubbles be?
/unsigned, as always. (And this is coming from someone running Bots/FF, Earth/FF, Sonic/Sonic (x2, one Def, one Corr,) Ill/Sonic and mutliple other affected combos. It's not that big a deal.) -
Can I ask we just give one of those to Techbot Alpha?
-
Buy? No.
Use drops? Small % > nothing, so yeah.
