"FOOLS!" is a classic line, so it fits well with a classic villain!

I am not sure if this and Steelclaw's entry are humor or documentaries.

For crying out loud, why IS the writing so bad? The rationale behind everything seems to be having most everyone who plays just agreeing to ignore it. The sentient, insane, all-powerful Well and its schemes just keep getting weirder and weirder.

It is not as though Troy Hickman is A) not known to the Devs or B) not available to make this a pleasant experience. And it would make his probation officer SO HAPPY for him to have more work!

Can you alternate between them, then?

You can really move along with the GvE JumpPack using Hover. If the timer becomes 30 seconds cooldown for both, then you could alternate between the two and pretty much fly right along.

Naturally, it is highly dubious this will work out like that.

And a vast improvement over the originals, I must say. That Shakespeare was sooooooooooooo depressing. How much more cheerful when Romeo and Juliet live, get married and have kids named Bart, Lisa and Maggie! How affirming and special it is when Lear is named Father of the Year at the big surprise party at the end!

I was a bit taken aback when the French won at Agincourt in Henry V, but hey, All Is Fair In Art, hey?

Oh my. You certainly went Above And Beyond The Call Of Duty there. Fortunately, all the folks I tutored asked, "What's the deal with the blue hand?" (My initial story about the Smurf with a hook who showed up to look for it was scoffed at) and they did not have the same fate befall them.

In light of all of these great stories, we should have one of these to honor our well-intended but callow selves:

My Ice/FF, who was my first Controller, was built to team all the way, and usually I could get on a team as I was very diligent about double-bubbling, etc.

But one day, nada. So I solo a mission and realize that between Block of Ice and Brawl, I have no other offense whatsoever (this being i3, Back In The Day.)

I think Clint Eastwood dug out of Alcatraz faster than I finished that mission. It was agonizingly slow.

The only Good News was that when I hit 32, I could squeeze out 3 Jack Frosts to help me pretty much full time. Then four days later, ED struck and Need I Say More?

Yeah, I later took the Fire Epic Pool so fast folks got whiplash. Thank Heaven, I finally had damage.

PS I will skip the bit about how easy young heroes have it; whenever i3 or earlier is mentioned, that pretty much is a given, right?

  23. I would have difficulty with anything other than "Astoria Goes Dark, Heroes Restore It, 50 Years Later Rikti Invade, Restored Astoria Goes Dark Again."

After one bout of Darkness that the heroes dispel, folks might venture back if they had ties to the area and it had not been dark TOO long. After a decade or two of peace, the Darkness would be viewed as a one-time run of bad luck, like a natural disaster, and there would be no impediment to living there with it gone. Consider that in our present state of affairs in DA, even once the Darkness is dispelled again, very few folks will likely ever venture back to a place that went dark, came out, then went dark again and featured a festive massacre of the inhabitants. I know I wouldn't!

If the zone had gone dark several times in the history of the city, my take is that hardly anyone would have been living there at the time of the Rikti invasion.

The only possibility is if Astoria was completely inhabited in 2002 by graduates of Buffy's high school. (Why on God's Green Earth anyone other than Buffy would ever return to a school that had regular vampire sightings and attacks is beyond me. ) So if the zone is populated solely with Buffy Alumni, then I guess multiple darknesses are possible. Otherwise, it is just too contrary to human nature for me.

A very catchy tune sung by Mr. Sheen. Can Cole "bang 7 gram rocks" like his Primal Earth counterpart??
  25. First off, I am yet another Waiting For The Train Club member. With that out of the way...

CoH is the only MMO I have ever played. I knew folks, however, who played Ultima Online, and heard about how players were pickpocketed and otherwise stolen from. So on my second day or so, I was ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIED when a "Someone wants to trade with you" window popped up. I tried to run, but they ran after me and persisted, hollering at me to agree. I finally figured I should take a chance and agree. I utterly panicked when the trading window opened up. I had no idea what they were trying to do. Alas for the good-hearted hero trying to show this Newbie some kindness! Eventually I got it right. As a result, I explain to Newbies how all that works when I am laying some funds on them.

And about a week into my career, I was standing in Atlas when BING! a lvl 44 Range SO popped into my tray. I looked at it. Man, that did a LOT of enhancement, especially compared to my pitiful Training enhancements. And Lvl 44s had to be REALLY expensive. My unknown benefactor had really given me something that would be very useful!

So I held on to it.

    For 15 levels.

And then I figured out that I was supposed to have SOLD it and used the funds to bankroll my starving hero.

As a result, I always give lowbies pure Inf. (There was no way I could have gotten to an Atlas store alive to sell my treasure back in the day, even if I HAD figured it out.)

There were many other silly things, and my thanks to those that took the time to 'splain things to me Back in the Day.
