Dang but I wish we had a way of finding this out for sure....Golden Girl you sound very sure of yourself that the soloists are a "tiny" minority....clarify, how do you know to say tiny????

AAAGGGGHHHHHH...you are right. I need to team. Don't faint y'all, but I joined in on the Victory Warwalker fun.

I yelled out LFT in Broadcast, some unsuspecting person invited me, and I had a real good time. The team leader was a sweetheart and did not mind that I put her on follow so I would not get lost

I played my Spines/Elec scrapper, and actually got to beat up on some of the AVs

If teaming were like this, I would be a teaming fiend

Lisa-Wishes I were not so shy or I would go looking for more people like me..and...pales at the thought..team.

But, this does say you need to team at least once to solo.... maybe all us solo types on Victory can meet up and do this

    Hello Ultrawatt

So sorry about leaving some stuff out, I don't do well posting from my phone. I have Crushing Impacts in all my attacks, Eradications and Sirocco Dervishes frankenslotted into the PBAOEs, Efficiency Adaptors in Consume, and both shields as well as tough are three slotted with Titanium Coating.

I also have Combat Jump, and the Flight Pool which is why at level 42 I am just now thinking about the Patron Powers..took Fly at level 41

Am I correct in thinking that the increases to max health are increases to hitpoints?

As far as Defense goes, I am resistance based toon who is recharge thirsty..and acc thirsty..and endurance thirsty. I could not quench all the thirsts

    Black Assassin, Good morning.

KO Blow is a hold? I need to investigate further! I know I enjoy using it, and it has saved me against Longbow nullifiers more than once.

    And Hello Syntax42

I love consume. My blue bar can go from the toggles dropping to full in the blink of an eye. All I need is enough bad guys about me...and it does not take many.\

    Ok, everyone,

I have an update about Sappers and I.

After work I took off my shoes, donned a ratty Tshirt, opened a bottle of Mountain Dew Pitch Black, logged into my SS/Fire and went to Grandville where I ran back and forth between the Patrons trying to decide which would best fit into the build I have, and my playstyle. I must have looked like a crazy person

I was truly bumfuzzled as I saw great elements in all of them.

    Then it hit me.

My toon's name is Steampunked Rose. About the name, When I heard about the Steampunk Booster and played with it on test, I moved her from Protector to Victory. I did this because I am actively playing her, my Victory Base, Hero side, is better than the one on Protector, and I was able to change her name in the transfer. All her costume slots will have elements of this wonderful Booster in them

Are you guys getting a hint as to which Patron I went with????

I went for the Mace... Closest I could come to a gun

And the knockback could be very very handy. I took Blackwand instead of Nemesis Staff.

I had a blast with the two enemy groups I have fought so far in this Patron arc.

    I went in at 2/2

Crey just melted. I herded all the Crey I could together, and destroyed them all..with very little fury used??? This confused me a bit. Rage, Embrace Of Fire, Fiery Embrace, drat, not sure what it is called, Burn and Footstomp, were all I needed to make a rather large group... melt into a puddle

Despite my fears, Malta was the same as Crey. I did die a couple times, mostly because I was tired, but RoTP made it fun.

Once the game is back up, I am going in and finish it.

Thanks for all the help guys

    I appreciate it much

  4. Hello. I am writing this on my Phone, so forgive me if it looks odd.

I have a level 42 SS/Fire brute, and I am unsure of what mastery/patron would be best.

I am solo, and am built for recharge and health.

Sappers scare me, so I would like a single target hold...but I can make do without if need be.

I was also thinking about instead of a mastery/patron, taking the stealth pool and filling it with Lotg recharge. This idea would allow me to
add slots to the powers I already have.

Or I could take lightning clap, or whatever it is called,
and knock that Sapper off his feets.

    Thanks so much
    Lisa

You can always go plus 1, 2 , 3 or 4 if you want. My thought is by raising the health slightly it balances the game play no matter what level you play at.

Just don't nerf anything after people have put so much time or effort in one direction.
Lisa puts her lemonade down and stares at the screen. If you increase NPC health, you will be nerfing not only my builds, but the builds of everyone who is not incarnated out.

So, what you are saying is you don't want the devs to nerf your builds, but nerfing the builds of those of us not incarnated out is a totally fine thing to do?

Tell me I misunderstood your meaning due to being tired and frazzled due to my kitten stealing my chicken dinner....while I was pouring my lemonade, she struck with such stealth a Stalker would be impressed.

    Lisa
  6. Hmm..

    (1) you can lock your powers into your tray. My powers went all over the place until I discovered this.

    (2) /cleartray is a real timesaver when it comes to doing respecs

    (3) You can try out new power choices/respecs on the Test server before going live with it.

    (4) Do not fight with Sprint on unless you have the endurance to do so.

That's all I can think of right now.

Hee, hee. Dollars to donuts this explains why I have not experienced the problem with scatter I keep hearing about with my Spines/Elec.

I did indeed slot one or two low/medium damage powers for slow..not sure which as the game is down and I don't remember which.

The varmits do scatter, but they scatter soooo slow it is piece of cake to catch and destroy them.

Mind you, my build is just for fun..no serious 4/8 farming..but she is a monster just the same. Riktis and Carnies and Sappers run the other way when the see her coming

Sorry I brought up an old post. I am using the downtime doing some research on what IOs people use in "Proper" builds, and when I saw this, I just had to respond.

    Lisa.
  8. When I first started I was told by a player that if you do the tutorial in Outbreak, you level a lot faster than you would if you skip it.

I believed that for a long time.

  9. I just saw that video and my gosh I want it now more than I did when I saw the first pictures. Fun, fun, fun.

Now I have to go read up on the Freakshow, because (1) I just realized I know nothing about their origins and (2) it seems to me that this Steampunkery might be a good origin for our lovable Freakshow that we all love fighting...and Nemesis as well...

And while my imagination is on overdrive, let me ponder as to how these people in their Steampunkery finery found their way to modern day Paragon city and Praetoria because oh yes, I will have a Steampunked Praetorian

Hmm...3:47 in the morning is a tad too early for creative brainstorming...I guess the Circle Of Thorns had something to do with it...they always do.

And, and, oh my, I will have to make a gun totin' toon...but what to choose Blaster, Defender or Corr..I truly wish Doms had guns

And, I loved the music and felt it was perfect for the video

    Lisa-squealing happily.

Back to this answer....I was indeed thinking of using the AOE immob to keep them on the ground. Granted I will be the target of all their wrath this way, but since I am solo I would be the target anyway.

So what you are saying is the Plant immob won't drop fliers out of the sky while the Earth Immob will?

I got the AOE Immob on my Plant Dom rather late and never tried to bring any flying critter down.

    Hmmmm....

The Witches though I can't recall having any particularly strong resistance to anything.
Oathbound, thanks so much for this info. Ooooh, ghosts are weak to Psi/Energy???? They must absolutely hate the Mind/Energy,and Mind/Psi Doms then....and this explains why my Broadsword and Katana kids had more difficulty with them then my other scrappers did.

Thanks so very much....I am going to write this down in my notebook of "Things nice to know"

Hmm. I have read here that Earth/Fire is a good solid combo, and I do not have a Earth/ dom...does it solo well?

Thank you so much for the food for thought.

No, you are not misremembering. It was a surprise.

    Lisa.
  15. Then why are they making it so hard for soloers and small teams to do the end game?

Looking at this info, You would think they would want to keep all their subscribers, yet I know a few soloers like myself who have quit the game because there is nothing for us in the endgame as it stands currently.

Devs, Marketing, whoever this concerns, I beg of you, I love this game....keep it afloat...please.

    Lisa.
  16. Hello all.
I am not sure how to best phrase this question....I know I want to play a Dom, but I am not sure I will be able to get it past 32..I am a scrapper/brute melee type of player.

    I solo.

    I do, and will, frankenslot.

Happily, Croatoa opens up in the middle 20s and extends into the very early 30s, a place I love.

So, what kind of Dom will thrive happily in Croatoa? My favorite thing to do there is hunt the witches and ghosts for the badges..and sometimes I just hunt them for the fun of it

    I do have some Doms.

Redside I have a Plant/Energy at level 32 (So I know I can make it that far), a Fire/Fire at level 28 and a Mind/Fire at level 27. They have not gone to the Blueside so I don't know how they would fare.

Blueside, I have a level 27 elec/ice whom I am not fond of as her damage is a joke...but I do understand that I have not gotten to her real damaging powers yet.

I also have a blueside bound level 19 Mind/Thorns who is almost out of Praetoria and has been a joy to play with.

Is the Mind/Thorns a good candidate for gleefully Witch/Ghost chasing in Croatoa, or is there another Dom combo which would be better?

    Thanks in advance.

    Lisa.

Aribiter Oates...@Nova Tigress, Victory Player here. I hope you have had your morning coffee sir because I plan on playing in Praetoria today...and...with my luck, I will probably come across every bugged door there is. For example, yesterday morning I came across a glowing and pulsing red door when it was supposed to be an enterable blue, and, early this morning I came across a mission where the official mission exit was not the exit door, I had to click along the wall, next to the door, until I got the mission complete button

I have the /whereami and /loc commands copied down in a notebook for when I need it, so maybe things will be ok today.

    Taking a Break

Is your NA Global twin active? If so you could try sending an email or a tell to him/her explaining the problem. In such a case I know I would change my Global in a heartbeat if an active EU player with more time in the game than I wanted it back.

Yes, do take some time to relax your mind so you can come back to the game rested, energized and ready to kick butt and take names

    Lisa.
  19. My morning started bright and early. I went to Denny's and had breakfast...they have bacon sundaes on their menu..vanilla ice cream drenched with maple syrup and sprinkled with bacon...I was not brave enough to try it. I went to Best Buy and got a new charger for my Iphone as my kitten had chewed mine to death..must have tasted like a kitty treat, Barnes and Noble for a few books, then came home and settled down to listen to the Ustream. I really enjoyed seeing the red names in the flesh

Only sad panda moment I had was when I got too sleepy to play when the servers finally came up.

    Lisa-Glad everything worked out.

    SUDDENLY, BADGERS EVERYWHERE

    Edited to actually contribute:

Hand out some free server transfer tokens (One to get in, one to get home) and reward participants with, say, Notice of the Well or Favor of the Well or something like that, and see what kind of reaction you get.

    1) Quadruple XP, influence, prestige and normal drop chances during the event.

    2) 50th level characters will have incarnate salvage drop about the same rate as uncommon salvage for lower level characters.

People just might call in sick to work for this kind of incentive.
Ohhhh...not to mention the number of people buying server transfers would double or triple for something like this

Lisa reads the above thoughtfully...I love the wordage used...currently

Anyways, I did buy a server transfer when they were on sale, and speaking as a player who bought at half off, if they were offered for free when NA and EU become one, I would be happy about it.

Yes, we can make new toons, but, with a few free transfers, EU players can bring a few of their 50s to Freedom and Virtue, and the other servers and play the incarnate taskforces with their NA friends that they have made here on the forums, and visa versa.

    Just my two cents.

Lisa-Who is hoping for half price respecs next
  24. Blacier...just run some AE arcs and run some salvage rolls. What you can't use, you can sell at WW, and use the profits from doing that to get what you can use.

You can also do what my crafter does..she puts in some low ball bids on salvage she needs for her recipes way before she needs to craft them. Every few days I will check and they do indeed fill

And, of course you know that the high selling price of salvage can be used for your advantage. For a few days pay attention to salvage prices to get a feeling for the flow, then jump feets first into the bidding wars

Tip Missions will result in Hero/Villain merits which can get you the the recipes you need, and playing the tip missions will get you white and yellow salvage drops. Doing
AE missions will help you get the necessary orange salvage cheaply.

    Hope I helped a bit.
