To me its all swings and roundabouts. Ultimately it depends on what ATs you are fighting. For example if it was 2 non energy brute (secondary power) then I reckon 2 thermal corruptors would be able to tear them apart. You also have to remember that most of the toons taking part have not been completly designed for PvP so are missing out on being fully optimised. I know my corruptor could do with another respec to rejig and change a couple of powers.
When my corruptor took part in the practise I dont think it painted a clear picture. Unfortunatly his inspiration tray is stocked full of big inspirations of which I didnt really want to get rid of. Thus spent most of the fight mez'd (but easily countered with break frees). This added with the fact that most builds are not optimised surely makes making generalisations about the effectiveness of powers and combinations quite misleading/biased. -

My personal total is just over 420,000 prestige as I created the group and thought it was hypocritical for me to ask people to be in supergroup mode if I hadn't earnt the most prestige
[/ QUOTE ]
I thought that too but one other person in my sg has managed to get just abit more than me - damn them, must try harder.
Mains got about 320 k worth although in total with other alts have amassed around 1 million in prestige. -
Well those that can't make the photo shoot, could you make sure you take some good photos of yourselves (can be actions shots, whatever). Then all you need to do is upload the pictures to our website or email the pictures to Blackbone (blackbone@city-of-evil.com).
Was thinking those of us that have got the test server, we could get some great shots of us taking down (or more accurately being taken down) the freedom phalanx (statesmen, back alley brawler etc). -

If your soloing in a PvP zone, stay in the water you can see a stalker in the water.
Isnt this just a myth? I've been trailed by a stalker before, tried baiting them into striking me whilst we were in the water (I had my PFF up), and I heard them splashing, they kept nudging me... and evidently they must have been bored because they started jumping up and down right next to me, sound-spamming the splash after a while, but I didnt even see the remotest shimmer, even a non-targettable one. The sound helps you figure out if a ground-bound stalker is following you, but thats about all that water is good for. Outside of that, the water is more likely to hinder your ability to combat a stalker due to the targetting bugs that a load of people get.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nah there is a definite ripple effect. That targetting bug will affect you but is more than likely to affect the stalker to - if you are a ranged AT then you can sometimes get a good advantage over your opponent. I hate fighting in the water - also it means you cant see traps such as trip mines, caltraps and the like. -
Discussing it at the moment Kitty Hellfire.
This Sunday we are trying to have a photoshoot of the sg so make sure you have you sg costume ready. We be meeting up in our base at around 7.30 ish. We take a few pictures - some with our sg cossie and some without (as not everyone can have the sg cossie). Hope to see you all there
Note the pictures will be going up on our website and will no doubt make an appearance on the introduction to our site. -
Group Name:
E.V.I.L.
Description:
E.V.I.L. stands for Every Villain is Lovable and can be found on the Union server.
The supergroup essentially has two purposes one of which is to serve its master (Max Khaos....Mwh ha ha). Its other purpose is to make the game more enjoyable for both its members and to the CoV community as a whole. Leading by example and sharing what we learn, we hope to become a force to be reckoned with (and respected) within City of Villains.
There is a lot of diversity amongst this Super Villain Group due to its open endedness. You will find those who enjoy PvP (player vs player) as well as those who don't. Those who are just on now and again to those who seem to be on at all hours.
Web Page:
www.city-of-evil.net
In Game Contacts:
@Max Powerz, @Hishy, @Thermatron, @Artanix
Favoured Activities:
PvE Teaming, PvP (PvP such as base raids is encouraged).
Other Activities
I think this is the same as most other Sg's but I feel dying seems to be one alot of us do alot
Admission Requirements:
Whilst many supergroups place limits on who and who cannot join, E.V.I.L.'s only real rule is that you stay active and contribute to its further development (as well as following the rules set out by NCsoft Europe). New players to the world of City of Villains are welcomed just as much as those that are experienced. To join you need to contact a member of E.V.I.L. This can be done by leaving a message in the recruitment section of our website (highly recommended) or through in game chat.
Being one of top supergroups on union, space does get pretty tight and as of yet we have not formed a 2nd Super Group. We are currently deciding what is the best course of action (probably a maximum of 1 other active alt in the supergroup). -
Yeah I have spent a stupid amount of time on a couple of stalks. I suppose the longest is about 30 mins - the bugger just would not sit still. They met there maker when they decided to see how high they could get. Impale followed by a nice long drop rounded off with a devasting brawl.
Also if on my blacklist or just really [censored] me off I will also spend alot of time on them. Ive waited outside of a persons missions entrance in order to get them. -
Grats!!!
I know how ya feeling cherry, only 1 lv 50 for my troubles to. -

I actually just wanted to get in before you Max....everytime theres a "Looking for VG" post you always seem to be the first response. But seriously we are always on the look so feel free to ask any questions.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's because Max isn't a real person but is actually a brain in a jar jacked directly into the internet.
the only time a post slips by him is when he's redirecting Nuclear warheads and hacking into the NASA computer system!
[/ QUOTE ]
Damn people are onto me. I actually did spot this post with no replies and was very tempted to make a post however I couldnt remember the other EVILS website off the top of my head. They mentioned roleplaying which meant was perhaps more suited for a different sg which could accomodate this need much better than us.
Dont worry guys and gals, if someone posts they are looking for a supergroup I poach them first like normal. Infact I make sure I copy Kinslayers great post about his sg (he made a massive post a week or two ago) but change afew key words -
[ QUOTE ]
But look at the plus side. You'll appreciate I7 even more when everyone returns and you have two or three 8 man VG teams running every night as everyone exhausts the new content
[/ QUOTE ]
I also see this as a negative thing to be honest. Yes be great teaming with the sg but will seem elitist to some degree. I have always enjoyed the random teams that have formed - normally its a nice mixture of sgs. However we all know alot of us are waiting for I7 and have many lv 40's in our sgs. THus there wont really be any team shortages in the sg so the need for teaming outside of the sg will be small. -
Shame you guys tend to stick amongst yourselves - I have rarely ever teamed with any of you guys and gals
-
Well it seems more like the forums are quiet (which I suppose is better than the sg). The Sg seems to be getting busier again (hopefully not famous last words), we just need to encourage those that seem abit quiet to speak up abit.
I noticed the Demons & Vengeful Spirits are back into the apamming routine and I expect my members to sure that they aint the only spammers around -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah fine. Is it just me or has this thread gone quiet?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think all villain threads have gone quiet
Its a shame but CoV also reflects that, its all quiet and it makes the game much more less enjoyable. I am finding myself playing heros again. Im sure its just down to everyone waiting for I7. This thread will once again be busy with sg's recruiting and our members spamming, i mean contributing.
What is perhaps even more saddening (well is for me) is just how quiet coalition chats are now. -
[ QUOTE ]
This isn't meant as a flame, but complaining that one hero archetype with one particular secondary in one PvP zone will be able to see Hide+Stealth Stalkers all on their lonesome is going to meet with little sympathy from heroes who were told, repeatedly, "Sorry, not our problem... Keep moving... CoH is a team game!" when they noted that one villain archetype could kill without a team.
SR Scrapper with perception++ is going to be the scissors to a Stalker's wrapping paper of invisibility. I'm looking forward to killing heroes anyway and the surprised look on their face when I do.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree with everything you said but would just like to add you will find alot more than just one type of scrapper (infact there be several ATs) that can see you.
I certainly enjoy these battles with the very few that can see you *cough* Devidose. The battles that take place are far more exciting and enjoyable. Some of these battles I can win, others I will lose.
I feel stalkers rely on there invisbility to much. Just because you can be seen does not mean you cannot be uneffective. As great as it is having grant invisbility, I think I would much prefer other buffs such as forge which you are far more likely to get than GI or just using cunning tactics to gain the upper hand. -
Im glad the feeling of stalkers having the short straw is being ignored/laughed at.
You wanted a serious discussion but you failed when you stated that you are being forced to team. If you want to solo you can - however you shouldnt be able to beat every other AT in the game. The reasons why heros tend to win is due to them teaming. They use there strengths, work together and attempt to minimise there weakenesses. Now in I7 on the test server heros also have the benefit of having an extra 10 levels on most villains making them have a fantastic advantage so judgements cannot really be made as things are not balanced currently.
Stalkers in I7 are getting a fairer game. There are several buffs coming stalkers way such as debuffs not interupting AS etc. The real problem seems to be your unwillingness to try and adapt and come up with another answer (the other pvp zones never really helped the situation by allowing stalkers to almost get away with murder). I dont see how going around completely invisble to everyone and ASing them makes it a fun game. If you want to survive you should be forced to team - its not villain vs hero but villains vs heroes where those that work together are far more likier to get further.
[ QUOTE ]
Yes i know all that but do you think its right that a lone scrapper can force a stalker so he HAS to team to be on a even level ?
I'm sorry but i do not like to be forced to do anything.
[/ QUOTE ]
Im sorry to say but your judgement on what stalkers can do is very much misguided. You state you dont want to be forced to team but if you do want to take down certain AT's that is what you are going to have to do - you are simply going to have to live with that or find another game. You may have worked out you cant take down a scrapper solo, wait till you see tanks (you will cry as your AS tickles them)
Finally you may lose the ability to AS willy nilly now but embrace the stalkers next best friend - snipe -
You are both after the same thing
The hero sg is after arcane salvage but because they are heros you wont be able to trade. -

And lets face it, how often do you go after a tank or scrapper in a pentad match?
[/ QUOTE ]
I do alot.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe, but you dont kill em alot. The only reason you would is if you had no other option due to their taunts. Why waste time trying to take down a good PvP tank when theres easier kills to be got.
[/ QUOTE ]
Because its a great way to say your not going to taunt me with impunity.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly.
Nice while it lasted, eh.

Only cause you cant hit anyone else. Taunt for teh win -
Well you say what ya need and we come to some arrangement

Woohoo, welcome back. Now more importantly you can finally honour the deal we had with our S4 match
I still get asked whether I got it. My diary has an opening slot on saturdays -
[ QUOTE ]
There wont be any defiant pentad team next monday. All our blasters are on strike due to nerfs.
[/ QUOTE ]
I be gutted if that was the case. Surely this is the perfect time to actually try stuff out and see how it all works out. On paper it sounds harsh but all this doom is rubbish - not even trying to give it ago (and maybe trying to adapt to a new style/ideas) feels me with great disappointment. I honestly thought people were better than that. If people feel that strongly you should be trying to make a case for it which can only be done by actually playing it. Throwing your rattles out of the pram is not going to do anything!
Finally just like to add I be quite happy to help anyone do some tests etc against my tank. -
Hmmm may have to create a supergroup on defiant then
