Quote:Yes.. I believe that might be it. Now I feel better.
That's what I get for listening to Turg.. He told me his 75 month badge was still awarded early, so I was only looking for announcements within the last 3 months. I was pretty sure it was longer than that. I also only searched the News and Announcement section. It didn't occur to me to search the Tech forum for some reason. Maybe I figured I'd only get the 1000 other threads with people that were having the Veteran Issues to begin with. lol
Thanks for finding it. Curse you Turg! lol j.k -
Yeah.. I remember there being an announcement about it a while back, but when Turg asked me about it earlier, I couldn't find the documentation. I couldn't find it in the News forums anyway. I wonder if it was just something that was quickly thrown into the /GMOTD for a couple days. I dunno. I seem to be the only one that remembers it. lol

In that particular mission, I think you have to retrieve some supplies first before it allows you to activate the bombs. Have you found those already?
If so, then the "Interact" you saw should have done the trick as long as you stand still and are not being attacked when you click it. -
Update again:
Well, I decided to give it another shot just to see how my luck goes... and when I got into the area, I see a ghost fluttering toward the sky, so I follow it for a few minutes... and sure enough it eventually catches up to Caleb. He was circling a little higher this time around Primeva. No sooner that I see him and the message "Caleb has been spotted" shows up.
I call out in broadcast for people and there is not a soul anywhere. I don't know who defeated the ghosts to spawn him, or how I would have arrived just in time. I didn't defeat any ghosts at all. Eventually people did show up and I took him down for my third time today.
I don't get it.. maybe it really is broken or on some kind of random timer now. I don't know. It just seems a bit fishy to me at this point. lol
Well, if anybody on Freedom still needs to kill him, just give me a shout. I'd be happy to check it out again... I seem to be on a streak. haha -

Update:
I had a hunt for CoT, so I decided to hang out and try to spawn Cale while solo, just to see if I could. It was nighttime already, so I spent the time searching the sky with [Focused Accuracy] on so I'd be able to spot him easier... but I didn't see anything at all.
Once morning came, I reset Herostats and began killing the Nerva Spectral Daemons, ignoring the Lord versions. By the time night came, HeroStats showed I had just over 200 kills. There was no announcement that Caleb had spawned... but I looked around anyway., and there he was! He was not even very high at all.. barely higher than the hillside itself. He was circling Thorn Isle over and over again. I kept following him for about 15 minutes or so until I could finally round up enough people to take him down, and then we did.
It was possibly the quickest and easiest Caleb kill I ever had. It's quite possible Caleb was actually already out the whole time, but since he was so easy to spot, I find it difficult to believe I missed him the first time. He was following a very specific route around the island that I had already checked before I started killing him. He even kept turning around and following the route back around again, so even if you keep making circles around the island, he'd run into you eventually.
In short:
Keep trying. He's still out there... somewhere.
Edit:
Even stranger.. now that nobody is around and Caleb is already dead, the message just popped up saying that he spawned again, and I just found him flying around the same exact path. -
As Dark_Respite says, the contacts are actually new versions of the old ones. When they copied and replaced info for the new ones, they apparently overlooked the contact identifier. I /bugged it on day 1 of GR.

I'm willing to come along for the whole set on Sunday. I'll be bringing my Inv/Ave Tanker.
It looks like it should be a fun afternoon. See you then -
We finished at 54 or 55 minutes. Luna's team appeared to be exiting the portal the same time we did and she announced she was logging off very shortly after that time as well.
It was a fun run. Like Turg said, we did have some deaths, but I forgot to set my signature "phail award" setting, so we don't know how many exactly. It was a fun time and we ripped through the enemies, not letting the casualties of war get us down. lol
I can't wait to run some more. See you all for the next one! -
To be complete, I have to ask.. Were they being confused? That can cause their [Shout of Command] to be cast onto you or your team instead of on the other Cimerorans. You can even confuse the Surgeons to have them heal you instead of them.
Note: I have not been to Cimerora recently, so I have not seen their recent behavior. It's very possible that they are bugged. I am simply providing more information about how they should work. Next time I go, I'll be paying close attention to it though and submit a report of my own if I find any oddities. -
Quote:I wish I had the same kind of luck with my GM. When I sent in a report for our mis-spawn, they didn't even have the courtesy to meet with my team in-game. Instead, I got the following message through personal e-mail:We recently spawned Caleb, got the message, and couldn't find him. Someone on the team sent a /petition, and a GM showed up, and went looking for him.
The GM found him on Primeva, on the beach south of Arbiter Leary.
Quote:Monsters such as Babbage, the Kraken, Ghost of the Scrapyard, and Deathsurge will spawn at random intervals. The sudden and unpredictable appearances of these monsters are integral parts of the designed challenges in locating and combating them.
Due to badge rewards offered for defeating them, these Monsters are in high demand. It is possible that other players have been frequently defeating the Monster you seek, thus decreasing the odds of your finding it.
I was then given notice that my petition was being escalated to a Senior Customer Support Representative to further assist.
Over an hour later, I got this response:
Quote:Caleb will spawn if enough Nerva Spectral Daemons are defeated in Nerva while the sun is up. If this is done successfully he will spawn very high above Thorn Isle as the sun sets. The Nerva Spectral Daemons will flock to Caleb. If you want to find Caleb, leave some Spectral Daemons alive and follow them to Caleb. He's hard to spot against the gray skies in Nerva, but he'll be up there somewhere.
I wish they just came and checked it out before assuming we didn't know what we were talking about because by the time we went back in forth in the e-mails, the team had given up and left anyway.
Well, there is always next time. I have been able to spawn him a total of 4 times in the past without much of an issue.. except one of those times it took us an hour to find him after he spawned... but at least he was there. -
I agree it would be nice to be able to search specifically for team leaders or "free agents" to make the list a little smaller to sort through, but you can still tell who they are from the new color codes:
Violet: They're the leader of a team with less than 8 people on it
Pale blue: They're not on a team and you can invite them
As for the list truncating to 50.. if you hit the search button again, it'll show the next 50, then next 50, then next 50, until you get to the end of the list and see less than 50, then it restarts again. That's certainly better than only seeing a random 50 from the list like it did before. -
Quote:Yeah it does seem weird then. Unless his other toon wasn't logged in within 15 days, or wasn't the next highest rank like the other toon, then it's hard to say what's happening. Last time it came up, I quoted some patch notes about it, but then somebody else quoted patch notes that explain something different entirely, so I guess it's a bit of crossed wires there. What I wrote earlier is my own personal recent experience with it.And that's why I don't claim to know exactly how it decides who to promote. Generally, when someone explains how it works, I can contradict it from personal experience. Either no one knows (aside from the devs) or it's bugged all to hell. I never leave it to chance.
Well, either way, I agree with not leaving it to chance. If possible, assign it yourself before switching... then there is no mystery. -
Quote:You don't really have to stop using it.. Try this instead:OMG!
Z was what I hitting to holster my guns. I wasn't aware "Z" was what it was. Now that I know I'll quit using it. My other characters don't need to re-holster their weapons so I didn't know why this guy was having that problem.
Thanks both you guys. I couldn't find that answer anywhere (^_^)
/bind Z unselect
That should still holster your weapon, but wont cancel your auto-power.
Or, you can just use Escape to holster instead. That's already set up for it...
..but if you are already in the habit of using Z, then use the bind above to fix it. -
Quote:Take note of this post. This is the way it is supposed to work now. If you are targeting a Store contact (for example), the auto power shouldn't be activating.I don't know about the 4 times thing, but I DO know that if you are targeting an NPC anything set to auto-fire won't go off. I also think the same applies to targetable objects as well, but I'm not a 100% sure
So, if you do a lot or trading at WW's or the BM, then it won't be going off if you keep the NPC there targeted.
Quote:Well in my case its Hasten that I have it around so that I can activate my powers as quickly as possible. But it keeps turning off.
I would like to think that it was turning off because of NPC's, but I take my time in a mission and take out "everyone" for maximum xp, but it turns off in the middle of missions.
/bind Z "nop"
I hope that helps. -
Quote:You apparently can't kick or invite. It says "You do not have high enough rank", despite having all the permissions set.I haven't tested to see if a purple name Leader can invite, promote, demote or kick other members.
Promote and Demote are also unavailable.
On a side note, I do know that you can send or accept coalition invites though... unless they fixed it. -
Quote:That's not necessarily true. Leadership doesn't always go to the most recently logged in. That was just part of how it worked during the launch of the Super Leader position. It should go to the toon that joined the SG the earliest, while still within the Inactive Period. To make your "leader" the actual leader again, just take whoever got promoted, make THEM a villain, and make sure that your prefered leader was the last character to have been logged in. They'll be auto-promoted and you'll be all set.
For example, if you set it for 15 days on purpose because you only have 3 characters that all logged in within 15 days, then make your new leader go to Villainside, the game has 2 other choices for the SuperLeader position. Your old leader will only get it if it's been in the SG longer than the other one. You can verify this by checking the Join Date on the SG roster. Worse comes to worse, if it goes to the wrong toon, you can just keep them offline for 15 days until it transfers to the right one anyway.
Personally, I use a second account to do the self-promoting within my groups. That's the easiest way. The next option could be to get a trusted friend to help. If you promote him to Super Leader, you can then relog onto the toon you want to have leadership, then have him promote you. Then he leaves your group. It's simple, but can be risky if you use the wrong person. haha -
Quote:No. You are still in the SG the entire time. You just wont be able to enter SG bases or use SG-mode while you are Villain or Rogue. Then when he becomes a hero again I would guess he would need a SG invite? LOLOL
Becoming Hero again will be back to normal, except he wont be the Super-leader. As long as you have your preferences set to allow full access to regular Leaders, you should be all set though. -

Welcome to the game! It's always good to see new faces.
For server-specific requests, we do have a separate forum for each one. An SG request might get a better response there. Here is the link to Virtue. There is even a specific forum for Supergroup Recruitment that you might want to check out as well.
Any other questions, certainly feel free to ask. I hope you find what you are looking for.
Good Luck! -

I can agree the Emp may be partly to blame. Re-reading the original post, I see that he mentioned stacking the CM. LR doesn't have any holds, so that is unnecessary and just delaying their reaction for fast heals when needed... and I hope the Kin found time to SB them both for better results as well.
