Quote:Some strategy notes for you that I wrote up in another thread..
* Well-Stocked (acquire 10 grenades AND 10 acids but don't use them)
* Antacid (acquire 10 acids but don't use them)
* Lambda Looter (acquire 10 grenades but don't use them)
On a side note, the Support Article lists slightly different requirements as well:Quote:* Get 10 Molecular Acids and no Pacification Grenades, but don't use them, and get Antacid.
* Get no Molecular Acids and 10 Pacification Grenades, but don't use them, and get Lambda Looter.
* Get 10 Molecular Acids and 10 Pacification Grenades, but don't use them, and get Well-Stocked.
Either way, I can still join with either:
Master-Blade, Teal Tabby, or Robin Rogue (all 51)

Quote:I don't recall anybody saying this badge was bugged. I think you wrote this on the wrong post. Additionally, even though Lamda's are possibly bugged, we never said they were impossible either.I'm hoping to gather a full team to get this coveted badge that many have said was bugged
That aside, I can join with either:
Master-Blade, Teal Tabby, or Robin Rogue (all 51)

I wasn't saying that they are never awarded at all, only that there have been many people who fulfilled the requirements and were not awarded the badge.
Like you said, there may be a few other variables at work here, which is why it might be smarter to know for sure what those are and that they are working correctly first.
Again, I'm not trying to discourage anybody. Like I said before, I'll even join one if it was hosted. -
It seems funny that the badges would be extra, when the point of a "Mo"-Lambda would be specifically to get the badges. lol
You can certainly host anything you want, and I might still join anyway. I was just curious why somebody would purposely host it when there's a known issue that the badges are not being awarded. For all we know, the requirements are wrong to begin with. There is a whole thread about it in the Player Questions forum. Personally, I've done "Mo"-Lambda three times with reliable people and we didn't get anything, despite doing what we think the requirements are. -

The only lucky part about that was when we had a Rikti Invasion in FF, which is what we have to hunt there anyway. lol

Quote:I use EditPad Pro. Not only can it keep track of nesting, but it color-codes common programming syntax to make it easy to read overall as well. The feature I used a lot was being able to have multiple files open at once and using the Find/Replace option to change commands or links on web-pages much faster than doing it all manually. I don't remember where I got mine for free. Maybe an older version was free or at least much cheaper. I can't recall. I just know I didn't pay $50 for it. hahahopefully i can get a hint on what texteditor you use to keep track of the nesting easily.
Regardless, there is still a free version called EditPad Lite anyway. Supposedly they have the same features, but I can't say for sure what the differences are. -
Quote:I hear what you are saying there. For example, I removed the default binds for T, M, C, etc. for toggling the Target, Map, Chat windows for the very same reason, but I replaced them with Alt+T, Alt+M, Alt+C, etc. just so I could still toggle them easily if I ever felt the need. Alt+C comes in handy if I'm in the SG Base Editor for example.I thought about using a keybind, but I have so many of them bound that I sometimes end up triggering powers and tray movement when I think I'm typing!
I'm not sure why I didn't follow the same reasoning when I added the Incarnate window. I suppose I'll change it to Alt+I at some point to be consistent. lol -
Quote:FixedActually, you don't need to tweak an .ini file to do what you're after.
Try typing one of these in your chat bar:
/bind shift+Lbutton +mouselook
/bind ctrl+Lbutton +mouselook
/bind alt+Lbutton +mouselook
(You need the + to make it rotate only while the button is pressed, otherwise it needs a 1 or 0 to toggle it on or off. It will give you an error the way you had it.)
Alternately, you could open the Keymapping tab in the Options menu.
Under View, just change the "On Demand Mouse Look" to Left button instead of Right button.
Or if your overall goal is simply to change the buttons because you are left handed, you could even more simply open the Controls tab in the Options menu.
Under Mouse, change "Reverse Mouse Buttons" from Normal to "Reversed". -
Along these same lines, I simply did this:
/bind I "toggle Incarnate"
Then I just have to press the I key to open and close it any time I want. -
Quote:There are ways to make that work, but i suspect a couple conditions that require it might not be possible. I'll talk to you about it in-game tonight. If rogues can go, can Myred be an alt? Haven't made her a hero, yet, and won't until the villain runs finish in (what, June?)
Edit: nevermind, meeting in Oro. Strike me :-)
That said, I could try to make it this night and bring somebody to help the team, depending on the rest of the sign ups. I don't need the AVs, so I could go down as an alt. -
Quote:"/g <what you want to say>" is to talk in Group (Team chat)I'll try just g next, but isn't that already used for something?
but you would use "/chanset t" to make Team your default.
"/lc <what you want to say>" is to talk in League Chat
but you would use "/chanset g" to make League your default. -
Quote:I have not had any issues either.I've not had any issues. I also originally selected the 'new' UI (found it way too big), and switched back to "Classic". Not been prompted except on first login.
As for which one I picked... I am still deciding. In the meantime I bound the option to a key:
/bind KEY "optiontoggle UseOldTeamUI"
I can switch back and forth quickly whenever I feel the need, and I'll settle on something eventually. I like the Classic one better overall as well, but because I keep the Team window to the right of the chat window, the new larger Chat window covers it a little, so the new smaller Team window is kinda nice for now too. -
Quote:Right, but I was just saying that's why some people count 18 instead of 21.Since those certain specific circumstances are now not required, those three badges are now considered "normal" badges for anyone to get. That's why they're included with the Issue 20 list.
I agree they should be included on the i20 list like they are. -
Quote:The 3 "extra" respec badges are not new. They were possible before, if you met certain specific circumstances.

Quote:Yeah, but it would look like this:Would "/bind z targetcustomnextfriend$$powexecname_Speed Boost" possibly work?
I know there's a way to set up a bind that will tab through allies like you can enemies, and if my bind here actually works you wouldn't be limited to only teammates (so you could speed boost nearby people in raid events without having to be on their team)
/bind z "targetfriendnext$$powexecname Speed Boost"
Then again, that might still encounter the targeting issue mentioned above, so you could always implement it as fool-proof files as well just like this:
Quote:C:\binds\SB\Na.txt
z "targetfriendnext$$bindloadfilesilent C:\binds\SB\Nb.txt"
C:\binds\SB\Nb.txt
z "+$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bindloadfilesilent C:\binds\SB\Na.txt" -
I'd like to bring Robin Rogue for this. It's the only TF badge she still needs (besides new i20). I know I don't usually join the Wednesday night stuff, but that's because I work early Thursday morning, but I'm hoping I can make an exception this time.
See you there! -
I'm officially back from my mini-vacation. Glad you guys had fun. Thanks again Gold for stepping in for me. See you in the game!

Friday at 9pm?
I'm there with one of the following:
Master-Blade (Kat/lolRegen Scrapper)
Teal Tabby (Invul/Axe Tanker)
Roin Rogue (Dark/Kin Corr) -
It really depends on how you use your builds and what type of activities you do in the game.
In my opinion, the 3rd build was designed for this purpose, for example:
If you are using the alpha slot for EndReduction, some people may choose not to slot EndReduction in their powers anymore, and use the slots to increase damage, hold, range, or some other aspect of the power, or simply move the slot to a different power. That could get the most numbers from the alpha enhancement as well as the existing slots.
The problem with that is when you EX down, and you do not have your EndReduction Alpha slotted anymore, you might have more Endurance issues. That's where having an extra build slotted for the purpose of EX'ing down can be useful.
If you don't EX down that much, and/or you are not a min/max type of player, then it's probably not important. -
Quote:Even though I mentioned in that post that it works for me every time, some people still have issues with it working reliably. Here's a previous post regarding SB binds.
To truly get the targeting to work, you can use a setup involving rotating bind files.
For example:
Quote:C:\binds\SB\1a.txt
numpad1 "teamselect 1$$bindloadfilesilent C:\binds\SB\1b.txt"
C:\binds\SB\1b.txt
numpad1 "+$$powexec_name Speed Boost$$bindloadfilesilent C:\binds\SB\1a.txt"
That will reliably target the player on keypress, then cast/queue the power when you release the button. -
Quote:I always forget to mention that for some reason. lolIf you hit escape, then try to use an attack, it'll automatically select the closest foe.
On a side note, that doesn't really help if your intention isn't necessarily to attack the nearest foe, but to simply start your cycle back to nearest, and cycle forward again until you hit the boss for debuffing or whatever else you might have wanted to do.
Quote:I used to use tilde (technically the grave accent key) for toggling my travel powers... but since I switched laptops a few years back CoX completely ignores that key for binds
I still call it tilde, because my targeting binds for that key all say "/bind TILDE ". Then again, since the game always treats it as the ~ instead of `, that could be why it doesn't work on some system or keyboard layouts. Either way it kinda stinks. -
I've never noticed TAB acting any differently than designed, despite all the complaints about it I've seen over the years.
What I think creates the problem for example:
You defeat a group of foes, and still have one of them targeted.
You move down the hallway to the next group od foes, and hit TAB.
The previous target was 80ft away now, so it cycles to the "next" foe, at 85 ft.
But wait, the foes are right in front of me! This isn't working! ARRRGH!
That's what makes having a target_near bound to a key a good idea, like Aggelakis mentioned.
You can also hit escape to clear the target first, then hit TAB to get the closest foe.
Personally, I use tilde for targeting as well, so I don't have to use Control+TAB. -
Quote:I agree with you completely. Most of the things I've seen appear to be written that way on purpose, either as a joke or part of the story somehow.I'm pretty sure I've never actually seen code exposed in NPC text unless it went something like this:
NPCName: P29384272101
(called a P-string)
I'm pretty sure most of the NPC chatter you're talking about is probably deliberately written that way, if not all of it.
The only exception I might make is when I see something like Boss_Name in a mission. That doesn't seem intended at all. Then again, that's not really exposed code, just a generic name that is apparently used when the name list isn't being referenced for some reason.
Here's something else that struck me funny the other day, and the first time I've ever noticed something like this happen. The name that appeared over the foe's head was different than what appeared in the chat and Target window:
It is repeatable too. I got the same mission later on a different character, and had the same results. I haven't noticed it on any other missions since either. Is that intended, or some new "feature" that's meant to confuse us? lol -
Quote:No, because what you are loading is essentially a copy of all the "a" files combined. For the numpad 0 reset.. shouldn't those be 1a, 2a, 3a etc, instead of 1b, 2b, 3b etc?
The next file to load would be "b".
Also note that you shouldn't really have to reset the whole list on a regular basis unless you are particular about which power you are casting first and lose track of what you've done, because each button will reset itself after both powers are used anyway. Then again, lag or various other issues may throw off the mechanics of it, so having a reset button is always a good idea for those cases regardless.
I originally had a longer, more complex bind that actually loaded each of the actual "a" files, but then it was too long (character limit), which resulted in having to put a rotating bind on Numpad0 as well, but then I realized that it could be done so much easier.. so I re-edited my post. lol
Anyway, I'll admit I only tested bits and pieces of my code to ensure the mechanics of it worked correctly, but not the specific code and multiple file set as a whole. Please let me know if it works for you, and feel free to send any other bind questions my way. Even if it sounds impossible, I might be able to come up with something close.
