  1. Reading over the Positron Interview done by Ten Ton Hammer, a portion began talking about how you can create your costume using all the costume pieces in the game, but cant move on til you purchase those pieces you dont currently own or revamp your look. While I think its a Great way to get people into the robustness of our character creator, I think it can also be seen as a bit of a bait and switch for new players new to the game, causing a negative vibe from the get go.

    Here's what I suggest as a possible solution/option:

When you get to the Costume Creator, you will see two new buttons in the UI for the screen:

Actual: This button will allow you to make your costume using only the pieces you currently own.

"Window Shop": This button would allow you to create your costume using all the options currently available in the game, as currently intended by the Freedom launch.

The way i envision this working is: when you get to the costume creator portion, you are defaulted into the 'Actual' mode, with a screen pop up saying that this mode allows you to create your character with all the pieces that you currently own, and you would like to see ALL the costume choices available currently ingame, to click the 'Window Shop' button. During your very first character creation (and ONLY during the first character creation), a chat bubble will hover consistantly over the 'Window Shop' button, stating that to click here is to see all the costumes pieces in the game, but that to unlock them will require a purchase.

Takes the 'bait and switch' feel away and instead gives you the 'shiny carrot' feel, one that seems to go over better, at least in IMO. That way, new players that just created their best costume at that point dont suddenly feel gypped they suddenly (seemingly) HAVE to shell out money to get the look they want.

All my opinion, of course, but I think that it could work and (hopefully) wouldnt be too work/code intensive a change to make that it would make this unfeasible to pull off on their current schedule.

    What do you think?
  2. Playing around with the Ascension Radiance pieces on the Beta server now, and I LOVE them! one thing I want to put out there though for a future release: the inclusion of a 'combat aura' version of the Ascension glowing pieces, one that activates once you go into your combat stance, and disappears when you come out of it. Like how the Alpha aura, for instance, now has an 'always on' option and a 'combat' option. I think that would really seal the Deal on these parts for a lot of people. Dont know how feasible it is but I think it would be perfect!
  3. .....Well, every game deserves its Squirrel Girl.......
    XD

I actually love this idea :P
  4. Just to chime in on the subject:

I recently purchased a Razor Naga Mouse. and I must admit, I love it. I agree, out the box its functionality for CoX is very limited, to say the least. but I found that the keypad on the side of mouse is good for, in my case, a very specific usage set: key binds.

KK, heres what I do: the Naga in basic 123 mode corresponds to the same keys as your keyboard numbers. What it also responds to is keybinds made with those numbers.

What I do is make all my powers that I want as keybinds as lshift+# versions. I then open up a new powers tray, vertical it, make space for it on the far right of my lower right UI, and put all keybound powers in that tray corresponding to their number. Anything over in that tray ive trained myself to know is accessed by pressing lshift + the corresponding number on my Naga. Since its essentially the same buttons used on your keyboard, the keybinds work, from the mouse, without having to click them physically.

It works pretty well for me that way, and makes me love the Naga for it.
    Hope that helps!

  7. Not doubting anyones point of view, but I would like to present to you a great example of a heroic undead mastermind: Harry Keogh, the Necroscope!

The Necroscope!'s ability is to talk to the dead. The dead love him for this. So much so that they are willing to reanimate their corpses at times to protect him. All of this without any supernatural spells or portents of any kind on his part. He simply asks, and they rise to help. Heck, IIRC, the first time he didnt even ask as he didnt know they would do that for him. they just DID.

Not trying to prove/disprove anything, just throwing out another point of view.

(The title of the book is the Necroscope! series by Briam Lumley. Great horror read)
  8. 60 Months as of May 26th (which is tomorrow! WOOT!)

Gonna finally get around to making my Superspeed character, as it didnt make sense (to me) anyway to have a superspeeder wait til lvl 14 to actually superspeed! (Not a knock on the game at all, but just a concept I'd set by the wayside for good, i thought at the time! ^_^)

  10. Never had the pleasure of actually interacting with you, but Ive read a LOT of your messages here (closet Lurker here ) and I feel like we lost out with this one. I know Cricket will do a great job as the new Community Servant.....er......Relations person, but it just won't be YOU!! I wish you best of luck on the TR boards and in all the roads of life you take. Adieu......

  11. As I look around, I only see 5 people who picked the powerset of my 'nightmares' , so I'll be number six with my lvl 29 SS/DA Brute, Nexus Star. I swear I created her one day, and a day later she was talking to the Facemaker! I sometimes don't think I even remember everything she did! I came up with a concept based around her powers (Her being a star traveller using void energies for protection, and channeling it into raw strength for her attacks) and have been having a blast ever since!
