I am thinking of coming back to CoH to try the new Architect missions. A friend of mine said that there can be some crazy leveling in them - he went from 28-31 in one mission.
Is this a bug or working as intended?
If it is by design, I'd jump back in to CoH. I've always wanted to get a controller to level 32 but never got past the mid-20s. Having something like the quick Sewer Team leveling in the later game would be awesome.
If, however, this is a bug or exploit, I would not want to be part of it.
Any advice?

I've tried a bunch and it just does not look right. Any ideas for a CoH character inspired by the movie version of Silk Spectre II?

I've always wanted to make a spines scrapper alt, but one of the major reasons I play CoH is the art and look of the characters. I prefer female characters and I just cannot get anything to work with all the freaky spines sticking out.
I made a Huge male character, use the Chitin armor, Chitin helmet, black / gray colors and he looked pretty cool - giant spiney bug man
But it did not look right on a female. Any ideas you creative geniuses you? -
The only reason I use Galactic Glasses instead of Goggles sometimes is they have that great reflection graphic if your PC settings are on high. With the right colors they can kind of shine.

'Borrow' is so much nicer than 'steal'
Tierce is awesome. Thanks! -

Um, yeah. That's freaking awesome. This is what I am in awe of. Taking a staple like red, black and gold and making it look new and original.
TY for the advice. I am actually just learning the basics of the color wheel and you'd be amazed at how much better things look when I stick to some Art Class 101 theory. Just by keeping keeping my primary / secondary colors in the same column of the creator has really helped. By staying in the same column I can play with different mixes but they still have some chemistry.
I'm learning a lot - thanks for the advice. -
When I first started CoH I would frequently win costume contests - now, I never even get into the finals. What you guys are doing with these tools is freaking amazing. I am a little in awe of what you are able to envision and create.
Um, any advice? Any thoughts on using the color wheel to get something different, colors that seem to go well, tricks to getting a 3 or 4 color look, tips on which booster sets or infrequently used items to try, etc?
I am stuck making variation on the same two themes - spandex hero with two colors ala the X-Men or a stereo typical hot girl with a belly shirt.
I look at artists for inspiration (Daggerpoint, DarkJedi, CelticBolt, Lady J, BuckeyeStar, Juggertha etc.) but always drif back into my rut.
Help, oh creative ones. Help! -
Do you have to buy the Mac client or is there a booster for existing accounts?

Dang MikoReimu! You make it look easy. I plan to just flat out steal that. Awesome!
I am not sure on the color scheme I want yet - I'll spin the color wheel until something clicks. I think a Green primary is cool but may have been done a bit (green and martial arts seem to just go together for some reason). Black or white may be out for the same reason - too comon.
Any thoughts on different primary / secondary colors to try out?

I've been struggling with making a female martial arts themed character. Anyone have any inspiration or ideas?
Most of my costumes are either the full spandex or a more jeans and leather jacket look. I am at a loss for an Anime or movie Kung Fu kind of look. I checked out the CoH default 'Ninja' and others but they just did not sit quite right.
In general I think I want her to look natural - face shown, non-spandex clothing. Sort of a kung fu master. I am not a big fan of the CoH robes but maybe I am just not doing it right.
Any links to some art or costume ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is the bell bottom pants option gone in the CoH character creator? I have not played in a year but I could not find the old bellbottom pants option or the tight leather pants option. I did find the motorcycle pants, but not the old one.
And FYI, this is one of the strangest things I have ever typed in my life. No way could I explain this to a non-CoH player without being gently led into a padded cell... -

Most digital artists just draw directly in their graphics software.

Really Frozen? Pardon my ignorance but that is amazingly cool. Have you got any links to digital art 101 type sites that could get an aspiring artist started?

In other words, Poser works if you don't draw particularly well

This describes me
One thing I love about the CoH creator is it lets people with zero talent (like me) be a bit creative. I'll never create anything like you guys or DarkJedi or the others I admire, but I'd love to be able to play on the edge of your world. Manipulating costume parts to create something unique is very rewarding. If I could manipulate other art objects through Poser and then modify them with my own ability that'd be awesome.
It sounds like if I use Poser 7 to create basic figures and then GIMP or Photoshop to do smoothing and such that might work. I am a software geek so the layering systems and such of software are much easier for me to manipulate than a pen and paper.
I have seen people like Doug Schuler reference 3D city backgrounds and models he uses to save time - are these the kinds of things you are talking about costing extra? If I bought Poser 7 would I then want to buy Model Pack 7 and City Pack 4 or something similar?
Thanks again for the great advice and help. -
Awesome! Poser is exactly the kind of thing I was imagining. Thanks!

I am just curious - I am amazed by the artwork some of you guys create. What software do you use?
I have absolutely no talent at all. I imagine artists use applications like Photoshop to augment traditional pen & ink drawings.
However, if there is a sort of package that has stock art that lets you play with it, sort of a CoH character creator on steroids, I'd love to know about it. I was reading up about applications like Manga Studio Debut and did not know if you guys had something similar you could recommend.
Until then, I'll continue to to admire the talent on this forum -
I know Print Screen works to take screenshots in game, but how do I take one in the character creation screen? Sometimes I just make costumes and would like to capture a shot without having to log all the way in.
Can CoH do it or do I need to use FRAPS or a 3rd party ap?

Greetings all. I just returned to COH after an abscence. I used to have a number of art sites bookmarked that I liked to scroll through to get costume ideas. Sadly, I lost the bookmarks.
So far I remember I loved Sorah & Doug Schuler (Dark Jedi).
Any other cool Deviant or other sites that have a significant number of good costume art pieces?
Thanks all. -
TYVM all - and Tural has an awesome look. I may steal the color combo
