Costume advice: getting the Mesmer look

I've been trying to create a costume inspired by the Mesmer from Guild Wars for my DB scrapper. Any ideas? I've tried trench coat, long martial arts robes - nothing seems quite right.

nice choice, i think the third costume is pretty doable, tierce in green would be similar to the first mesmer, i'd go play with the CC for you but i'm spose to be doing homework...

For Mesmer 2, have you tried sleeveless versions of the trench and martial jackets? That way you can get a different look for the sleeves by mixing and matching sleeves and gloves. I recall there are poofy shoulders for Chest and flared sleeves for Gloves, so those might work.

Problem being that even a sleeveless trenchcoat blocks you from using the Puffy sleeves (or even the regular Sleeves option for gloves because it's not it's own category of top,and Trenchcoats as a whole block a lot of those options.

They really need to get that split into With and Without sleeves categories. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to use the sleeveless trench and the lil flared sleeve gloves.




I'll go see what i can come up with for the OP and post anything that looks decent.

Yeah the poofy sleeves *need* to be ported over to jackets, sleeveless jackets (I know.. contraditiction but.. yeah) and trenchcoats. I'm sure this has been suggested to Jay but I don't recall seeing it posted there. I've not kept track in a long time tho.

That occurred to me after I posted.

Here's my attempt.

Face > Face 10 > Make-Up
Hair > Fancy Braid

Sleeveless Robes > Martial Arts 4
Chest > Tights > Dagger
Shoulders > Swept Point > Smooth
Gloves > Sleeves > Sleeves > Lock

Skirts/Shorts > Shorts 2
Boots > Thigh Highs > Lock

OK... nUb question, but now do i take a screenie in the costume creator?

Also... I was going to say that JLove mentioned that in teh magic booster (soonish) we'll be getting a "cloak" type item (which was what he added instead of full length skirts/robes.. cause he couldn't get them to look right) but now try my damnedest I can't find that post...

So either I'm crazy, or It got modded/deleted because we're not supposed to know about it yet.

Was going to say that we can hope this new item would work...

Oathbound - While in the creator- hit your printscreen button. Immediately go to your art program and paste it in as a new image.

When I play I always have my art program open and at the ready for printscreens

Ok here's what I came up with.

Mesmer
Swords

Only thing that might be problematic is The Valkyrie belt, I used it because I really like it, and it's about the only piece I could add to give a little flare.

If you don't have the Valkyrie set (Mac Special Edition $19.99 and comes with a free month of play time so the costume items only really cost you about 5 bucks) You could use either the Peak or V belts instead.

I'm not really a fan of what I just made, I can't get all the bits together that I wanted (puffy sleeves with jackets, etc) but maybe something from this will help. I have the file saved if interested. This uses some of the wedding pack pieces and went after elements in the black and white outfit and the puffy sleeve one (Mesmer 2 and 3).

My Print Screen button is a little screwy, so I can't get screenshots from the costume creator menu (pasting after using the Print Screen button just pastes a black screen).
