Yes you can be that fast. Stalker counter measures on my defender relies purely on quick reactions. You can also bind "target_enemy_near" and be even quicker.

You are having a laugh?? hide gives stalker a def bonus aswell m8 and it is integral to a stalkers tactics of being "sneaky" which is the whole point of being a stalker. tell you what while we are at it let MM's fight with no pets and brutes use no sheilds hey

What i meant is that humour can defuse nasty situtations.

eg.

Just looking at the powers in the invulnerability set and notice that unyielding has res and -defence. The -def seems really odd for a tank set.

First point. I hope not. I rolled a blaster exclusivley for PVP, could do with more damage but then, I havent slotted him out properly yet.

Second point, I dont think its a fun way to die, You could try a different strategy though. My defender used to get 2 shotted all the time till I took a long hard look at his powers and build a strategy to handle stalkers.

I like this strategy, havent used it cos it's percieved as a bad thing. Always used the mobs to take down cocky big players on MUDs, there wasnt any extra penalties there though.

Only just skimmed through this so it may have been mentioned before. With focused senses + tactics, you should have enough perception to see stalkers. Also, which defender sets do you play?

If that doesn't work either you can always bribe me to go into one of the pvp zones with ya. That usually results in a horde of heroes screaming "It's Gany lets beat him to a bloody pulp!" Within seconds you'll see 8 or so heroes around my corpse, then just take your pick and go to town

Thankfully my router crashed last night and the 20 minutes or so it took to get things going again, things improved. Still the 1 or 2 people shouting "1 v 1?" sometimes accompanied by "cowards" etc, and a break in the action for the odd duel. I mostly play on union but might try defiant, pain in the backside after spending the last few weeks levelling a toon exclusivly for pvp.

Oh, btw, I sometimes try bloody bay, mostly for the temp power, I feel like a bully there with so many pre lvl 20's.

I didnt know i'd gotten anymore abuse than usual, but I dont see how politely using the zone as intended would warrant abuse from anyone. Oh well, looks like i have macros to work on

I've played a few MUDs too and they tend to be run by jerks anyway, or at least, 1 main jerk and some cool guys who do the hard work, least thats my mudding experience.

Anywho, I dusted off a lvl 16 stalker i made when COV came out and thought I'd try getting the meteors in bloody bay. While there I see in broadcast "[censored] off, I'm not here to PVP, i'm meeting someone". I broadcast that a PVP zone probably isnt the best place to do that and he agrees. The stalker who attacked him invites me to team (and he turns out to be Krunch from the forum ) and we hunt the hero in question. I find him getting ready to duel, on and off there are about 2 heroes and 2 villains there. We leap in, kill one, leap out, they get annoyed, I go over the issue with duelling and point out I may have been more gracious if he hadnt swore over broadcast. These players actually arranged to meet in bloody bay instead of the arena so I wasnt feeling bad at all about killing them. The most interesting thing is when krunch has to leave and I continue killing. I TP in get a resting blaster at 1/3 health, TP out and the others laugh about it. In the end we actually parted on good terms, although i'm not sure how that came about.

Yes, at one point the heroes began to camp the villain base, and this really, really annoys me. So... I kindly asked a villain friend in the zone to grab his Dominator and confuse me so i could go beat on some heroes to get them to back off. Now that's fun

By the time i got there villains were already penned in there base so I had a little less fun than the players who had been around a bit longer. Hopefully tonight will be better

Its not just 2 people duelling for a few minutes then getting stuck in again. Its a whole load of people in a clique, maybe half the zone+, all lined up ready to duel each other for the duration of there time in the zone. When this happens I find it a bit of a waste being there "oh, my bounty is duelling/spectating" . Sure, they would prolly let me duel if I asked, but duelling to me gets boring fast and theres already a place to do it.

I dont mind leaving duellers alone for the few minutes it takes then to fight. What annoys me is when a large group of players are all lined up to fight 1 after the other. Looks like i'l have to start being a little more evil

Can we have something for people who want to goof around? Last night I coem into sirens hoping to pick up a few SO's and find people dancing. The devs go to the trouble of making pocket D and some bozo's choose to dance in an open pvp zone. Today I come in and anytime i attack someone i get told "oh no we're duelling" or "we're just messing around with our powers" accompanied with abuse. It got to the point where I felt I had to send a tell to my target asking if its ok to attack them (didnt do that though). This kinda thing is really putting me off the pvp zones or onto the idea of creating a build specially for assasinating these people.

How is the protection from powers like health, acrobatics etc? Is it worth having or should I take my chances and get something else?

Try PvPing with your build just now, that should reveal a few areas you will want to pay attention to. Also try and fit TD + tactics in there to see stalkers, they can still AS you, but they have to be faster.
