just leg for the kills and heal yourself, squishies are way to survivable with aid self, i think it needs a nerf.
[/ QUOTE ]
A squishies survivability with aid self is still way below that of a scrapper or tank. -

I fired off 4-5 holds and even more sleeps and 2-4confuses but nothing worked.
[/ QUOTE ]He was either affected by PvP mez suppression (Kicks in every once in a while, I'm unsure of the mechanics), or heavily boosted with CM/Clarity/somesuch, since AFAIK no solo scrapper can achieve the protection needed to take 2 dominate-boosted confuses and not get affected.

Isnt there some sort of player effect option which is defaulted to off in the pvp zones? I've had a lot of people comment on broadcast that they were confused but I didnt see any purple (aero) bubbles over there head. That might be another explanation :| -
Just seen this on the american boards. Its over a week old so appologies if its been posted elsewhere already.

Debt in PvP: We are going to remove debt completely if you are killed by a Player, and give you porportional debt (no debt for damage done by a player, but debt for damage done by an NPC) if the killing blow is landed by an NPC. This is the "best of both worlds" scenario. It has the 0 debt of the Pre-I7 methodology (getting killed by a Player) and the partial debt of the Post-I7 methodology (when you get killed by an NPC).

Last but defiantly not least! Duelling in a PvP Zone! If you manage to do it then fair enough, in may be like 4am in which case ye why not. Ive had so much abuse just from entering a PvP zone and jumping on 2 players mid-duel, with out knowing...
I no longer stop for duellers, even if I know they are . Theres this thing right and its called the Arena, and apparently you can duel there
[/ QUOTE ]
Arg! there was a few of these formed a fight club in warburg last night. I leave them to in that zone cos I dont like warburg anyway, but other people wanted to pvp. With all the swearing and griefing over broadcast (from the duellers) I suggested they use arena where they wont be interrupted. There response "but here we can pvp and duel". Hmm. ok. so you want it to be a pvp zone or duelling zone when it suits you. I gave up and went missioning in port oakes where a bunch of duellers using the arena were also spamming obscenities. :S -

The Unexpected Attack
Don't know how I forgot this one as it provided me with some chuckles when I found it on my Corruptor. Above the Hero entrance to SC you can actually stand on the War Wall with stealth and not get droned.
In comes an unsuspecting squishy feeling safe in their supposed immortality zone. 2 Corruptors, 2 Build Up/Aims and 2 snipes later they're eating dirt having been shot in the back and the corruptors can step back without them having a clue what hit them, ready to get them on the way back out of the hospital
[/ QUOTE ]
Havent they added drones there now? -
I want to see a new badge in the pvp zones, "badger hunter" you get it for 100 badge hunter kills and the description says "You make David Bellamy cry". Could also do with a "duel stopper" badge.

The Side Switchers
Can be a good or bad thing here. The zone is heavily in one sides favour and numbers are making a huge impact. It's time to switch sides. Only problem, you get the real PvP'ers who are there for fun and skillful battles and will switch to the other side to even the playing field. Then there are the 'glory boys' who do the exact opposite and switch to the side that's winning.
[/ QUOTE ]
One of my biggest pet hates
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been switching quite a lot recently to help out the underdogs. -

What a shame a pleasant thread go hijacked.

Yeah, was fun while it lasted
I reckon any reasonable person will see continuous misuse of tp foe along with gloating about your "strategy" as petitionable. I'm all for using mobs to soften people up, even droning when your heavily outnumbered, but not coming into the winning side and trying to wind the whole zone up. BTW. there was a boycott last night due to this "strategy". -
From the website it looks like a really well organised group with a lot of fun events going on, maybe you could post the events here as well and get even more people involved. I've met up with the cap in pocket D a few times
-
None of my old ones really leap out at me, but i found it funny today when I was accused of playing FOTM dominator.
-
Likewise I havent tried fire so I can only really talk about mind, with the proper playstyle it should be possible to solo either set most of the time. I'd second the opinion of trying both out for a few levels.
-
pfft! forget inspirations, some people dont even want you to use your powers!
-
I've played mind/energy and mind/psi up to levels 27 and 30. I've solo'd with both of them when I've had to but I've had much more fun on any half decent team. I think I prefer psi simply because the 1st power in the set can be used to build domination very fast. Powerboost is a great power from energy and I miss that (even flight speed gets boosted!). Solo I normally use the ST confuse to get a "pet" then I may sleep the lot of them, wake the "pet" and start locking as many down as I can before they wake up. Later on its much the same for me except I may use terrify then mass sleep, or keep mass sleep in reserve in case I have to leg it. Once domination is going things move at a much faster pace
In very large groups of mobs I use psi dart to pull, it has a great range right out the box so its good for this.
BTW. I had to solo a downgraded AV a few days back (barracuda) and resorted to confusing a freakshow tank to do about 98% of the damage. I reset the mission and got a team though as it was a bit of a boring way to do it. -
I think the challenge of playing a dom in PVP may be a bit too much for some. Its more difficult than other AT's I've tryed (pvp wise) and I can see why a lot of people might give up before they get the really good powers. I havent been in the zones as often as I would like simply because I wanted those really good powers, plus I was enjoying the story arcs. Now I've hit 30 with Fineous O'Malley I will likely be around a bit more often.
-
Should be ok if you tone the accent down, for some reason people get really annoyed about that sort of thing. Some of the insults you recieved sound like petition material though.
-
You've never seen father ted?
Well worth watching if you like a good comedy. Your costume sounds a lot like mine:

Not much you can do with a leprechaun, although the santa hat could come in handy if I had it :|
Havent really had any problems with him and I certainly wont be changing his outfit anytime soon. -
It would be a shame if you couldnt play your character, from an another post you made he seems a lot of fun. Its not even as if this is a steriotype Irishman, its a mythical character from Irish mythology. BTW. how do you play him? If your acting like Father Jack I can see how it might raise a few eyebrows
-
Its really up to you, I find sleep useful for stacking holds on bosses (dominate/mez/dominate) although levitate can be used for that too. Its also useful for sleeping mobs at the edge of the battle, mobs in the centre will likely get woken up, but i guess you already know THAT
Drain psyche I'm not sure as I'm only lvl 27, I'm planning on trying to go without stamina and use 6 slotted DP instead. -

hey there, i realise this is probably a bit off topic for this but i thought this post would be the best way to contact the CT community
I want to ask very seriously who is insulted by Leprechaun, i was very dissapointed and disturbed when i found someone was, i just want to know your general opinion before doing anything, until then i am not r/ping with Leprechaun as i do not wish to insult anyone further...
[/ QUOTE ]
I play a Leprechaun character as well (Fineous O'Malley) and had someone ask me if I was taking the [censored] out the Irish. Other than that I've had no problems, I even had people stop me and take screenies during St Patricks night. I've teamed with one other Leprechaun character who plays IC pretty much all the time but I dont remember him putting on any accent. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think Debt should be removed completely from PvP zones, personally, Marquand.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, what were they thinking anyway? Its seems like a really counter productive change. -
Tonight someone said they didnt finish me off as they wanted a mob to kill me instead. I wasnt really bothered, debt happens, and most people seemed to agree the guy was a bit of a plonker anyway, so he was getting his "reward" that way. One thing, one person encouraged me to petition him for his comment over broadcast, something like "i wanted a mob to finish you". I thought this was a bit soft for a petition anyway, plus I had the only aggressive mob nearby confused so I would be assisted (and, sadly, he would be given some debt had the fight resulted in death). I'm just interested in other peoples opinion on this, should I have petitioned? TBH, I'd prefer to just leave it.

Thanks for the tips, on ghostblade my strategy is to hide behind things or hover above the battlefield. When a target looks hot i hit build up, TP beside them, and queue AS/placate and my follow up. Its that strategy that has me thinking I could possibly chuck stealth (even high perception targets wont see me till i'm up close, and I've run into ppl using the same strategy on frosty). On ghostblade i've attacked duellers where there were sympathetic villains to give a "ninja alert" to my targets. I'm going dark/ninja, for the fear and higher survivability. Probably fly and TP. I havent found an effective way of useing tpfoe, i guess tpfoe and queued fear, something i didnt have on ghostblade. Anywho, if its rubbish i guess thats what respecs are for

[ QUOTE ]
Back on topic, I've never wanted, needed or used stealth in PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thats interesting.
The reason i think i MAY be able to get away with it is because i hide behind buildings about 90% of the time anyway. How did you get on without stealth? My only concern is with people who go out there way to hunt me, like that [censored] frosty mcneil -
By chance I've run into a lot of RPers on COV recently. I dont believe they are forum regulars so I've been helping the folks on my friends list by sending messages about any COV RP posted on the forum, or anything random i happen to run into. Anywho, long story short I got invited to pocket D, accepted and had more fun than I expected
Erm, not exactly a bowel shattering post, just something i wanted to share

I hope you and Mr Frosty will let us (me) know how you get on, sans stealth. I'm always interested in alternate builds.

Nooo, its a big ol' secret!
Nah, I play as "Master kano" lvl 5 just now. I'll give you a shout when he starts his pvp career.
