That's a great idea that I would totally be up for, no having to grind away at Tanks/Scrappers/Brutes or chasing after Stalkers. Squishies vs Squishies in an all out debuffing/holding/blapping fight!

I was thinking more of a squishy VG for taking out whatever happens to be in the zone. With buffs pouring out your ears, all them holds and MM pets hitting. Would be enough firepower for us softies to get a bit of vengance
Theres no reason this couldnt be done on both sides though for an epic zonal battle.

Prolly coulnt give up pvp for good if i wanted to anyway. At the very least I'll be back once I hit 50 or the I8 buff comes out. Or I might be back sooner due to morbid curiosity and stubborness. I'll also be around for any special teams, such as if a few from the all dom team were to try a pvp excursion, so its more a holiday than anything else. Actually I was thinking an all squishy zonal pvp VG would be good, so once I start a shiney new dom I might try that.

Interesting, I find damage more an issue in pve than pvp, maybe because a hoard of villains leap on a target as soon as its held
PvP wise I have more of an issue with survivability than assault secondary. Doms seem closest to blasters as far as survivability goes, no heals/debuffs, no armor, low hp. For blasters the balancing factor is there massive kill power. For doms I suppose the balancing factor is supposed to be control primary to stop incoming damage + domination. Mostly works fine for me in PvE (cant solo +4's or anything), but in PvP where so many things have mezz protection you could get killed many times over by the time you would have stacked enough holds on something. A controller is less likely to have that problem as they will have things like heals, debuffs, even force fields depending on there build. An overall hp increase and a dull pain effect on domination might help in pvp but I wont be holding my breath. As it is, I plan on avoiding PvP on my dom for a few days at least (with the exception of shivan's and warburg missions) as it's simply way too tough and depressing.

I'm not sure it would be too powerfull, I was under the impression dom melee attacks did corruptor level damage anyway.

I have an Ice/Nrg Blaster who is soon to be respecced into a Blaptroller build. This combo is or at least was FoTM, and it's a wonderful combination to PvP with.

I enjoy PvP and will happily join friends in Warburg, Siren's and RV to bust some heads; but I'd be highly offended should anyone refer to me as a n00b or an egotistical PvPer. I'm in it for the fun of it (besides, my Scrapper can take down more foes, and has a higher PvP rep), not to show off how awesome and uber I am, and gloat over dead bodies.

Thats the thing, some people will naturally gravitate towards builds which just happen to be good in pvp.

That's a very good point that I hadn't thought of.

If you've got a FoTM scrapper/stalker that will get you high PvP rep with ease, why roll anything that would require a challenge or change in gameplay? What's the incentive?

I think it comes down to why you're playing the game - are you trying to "beat" it, or other players, and show that you're "the best" in some way, or are you looking to have fun and challenge yourself?

You have to win hotspots to move the bar and win the zone. 1st time time you win it, the powers are a bit naff, if you win in 2 times in a row you get access to additional powers which are a bit more juicy. It can take a long time to win enough hotspots to move the bar much though

Yes. I was grinding warburg missions last night and had a short poke around the zone with my dom. I found a large collection of scrappers, brutes, tanks, probably stalkers, and maybe 2 blasters and a defender. Mostly ignoring each other, a few duels and quick gankage of any squishy that came near. I thought it reaked of school yard bully tactics with one player encouraging players to "gank the ones without armor". I made a point that they were simply chasing players away, then went back to grinding missions.
PS. not accusing you wam as a lot of people were just messing with the emotes, plus I didnt stick around long anyway. Had I known enough people to help I would have made a quick SOS and given them a taste of there own medicine.

I think this maybe comes from people who threaten to petition but never do it. The offender never recieves anything about the incident and so thinks the devs dont object to there behaviour.

You must have left before I turned up. Was a bit of a hero gankfest when I got there but no serious insults. I was too tired to play properly though (which wouldnt have made too much of a difference anyway) and too stubborn to give up and go to bed :P

I usually AFK in the middle of the zone so I'm not unfairly stopping people from getting there bounty. Plus the pizza delivery guy might not wait long enough for me to get to my base.

The "hero" and i used the term very loosely had set up traps just by the side of the hospital door and had tp foe, fortunately i had an insp that allowed me to enough time to leave the zone or i'd have been stuck there all day

im not complaining about getting killed but why create the safe areas if you arent "safe"

Sounds like that corner just at the side of the villain hospital door, fair game but doing this all the time is just likely to make people leave. Worse is that unless something has been changed recently, heroes can get right inside the villain hospital. Wonder if confusing someone on mines makes there own mines blow em up *cackles* :P

There was a lot of fear going around what with me being mind and the corruptor being dark. Plus there was a dark scrapper. There was also a poison MM which I believe has some pretty awesome debuffs. Amy was a pain though and realy helped you out, I kept trying to confuse her but eventually gave up. (think she may have high end drain on those leccy attacks).
Dunno bout fear being too good, some toons really need that soft control to make up for the lack of damage & survivability. A little annoying that the dark scrapper could get it, but his damage seemed way lower than something like spines. Certainly an essential power for mind doms, I dont think I would have a chance without it.

I've said it before, but its really hit a new low. I kill a blaster and attack a scrapper twice in bb with 2 villains looking on going "oh noes, the violence". 1 Villian says we may as well team and invites me, then he belts half way across the map and trys to teleport me. I was a little suspicious so I follow him and find him standing in a load of freakshow. Never sent a petition before, and I almost didnt do it, but I dont feel like I can let that pass.
