Just contact support and explain what has happened. They can delete the extra account and give you a new code to apply to your main.
It's been a while since I did it but I believe that you log into your master account. Select a game account. Then click on Upgrade account. Enter your serial code into the appropriate box. Then it should give you the choice of creating a new account or applying the upgrade to your current account.
It's also possible that support can apply the code directly to the account for you.
As another possibility if you don't want to jump through all the support hoops you can just play the new account and abandon whatever characters you created on the trial if you aren't too attached to them. -
Good to hear you are up and running again Jade. I feel a bit less frustrated now even though Zero and Vokem still haven't reported being back in the game.
-
Might as well throw in my two cents here. I agree that there should be an automated message that works the same as the being ignored message. Or anything really to make it clear that the person you are attempting to chat with is on a trial and can not reply.
Now as to buying the games.
You can buy the original City of Heroes
City of villains
Collectors DVD version of CoH
Collectors of CoV
Good vs Evil edition
Mac edition
Architect Edition
And soon the Going Rogue edition.
You can upgrade your account with each of these and each of them will come with a free month. That's over six months of play to be had very inexpensively. Plus every edition except the basic CoH and CoV come with extra goodies. -
Quote:What newer baddies are you talking about?I've been an on and off player since back in '04 I've tried a few other games, but none has won my loyalty like CoX. When I first started playing I was always pleased by the amount of work that was put into writing all of those missions, all of the dialog, all of those bios etc etc. I remember every time I spotted a new enemy I would right click/info and then read the bio on that enemy while I fought it. I couldn't tell you how much debt I've worked off because there was a mission specific boss that was just knocked down and I had to rush over to right click the body before it and his bio was lost to me. To those who wrote those bios and such I wish to honestly say I really enjoyed reading them and still do, bring that extra umpf to the game that I love. Even the story archs I make sure to read. I loved that with each of the baddies there would be different bios for the different ranks (minion, LT, boss etc)
However, I've noticed a lot of the newer baddies info is generalized from minion on up. First I thought maybe it was just me or maybe just a few of the baddies, but I've heard other people mentioning it as well.
I guess from this post I just wanted to get across to the writers that your efforts in the past have been noticed and quite enjoyed, and I hope to see that continue on in the future.
Just my 2inf... anyone else? -
Quote:I couldn't disagree with this more. You seem to be missing the point. It would be a TF, not just a simple battle. Just like any other TF there would be a chained series of missions for each side to complete.Farming. With that reward structure, you don't get a PvP task force, you get two teams running it to farm merits. 50 merits for a win? Five of these and you can buy anything you like! You'd destroy the economy, and I mean destroy it.
There are TFs out there now which reward more then 50 merits. Have they destroyed the economy? Also since it would be a TF/SF you couldn't farm it. It would have the same reward limitation of any other TF/SF.
I will agree that forming teams to do this would be difficult. And of course there would be teams who developed the strategies to get through their missions as fast as possible.
The one real problem I see with this is that one team might be absolutely streaking through their missions while the other team crawled. There is no way that the fast team would want to sit in mission waiting for 90 minutes till the other team got there. A possible solution would be to implement a teleport mechanism like mothership raids where the team lagging behind is given an emergency transport by their contact. This however would have to be modified too. In other words diminished rewards depending on how far the other team had progressed. Otherwise the TFs would always consist of a fast team speeding through their missions while the slow team just sat afk in the first mission. This because there will always be somebody willing to door sit for 25 merits.
Ok, last thought. If possible (and I emphasize IF) the rewards come from a merit pool. Each mission completed by either side adds 5 merits to the pool. Each side gets 7 missions and the final pvp mission adds 5 as well. That would produce the 50/25 reward proposed in the original post. However if any team just door sat in the first mission that would result in a 27/13 split which would be lower then any other 7 mission TFs -
There is a program out there called furmark, that is an opengl stress tester. I don't know if it's any good but it might tell you if it is the opengl that's bad.

My cpu was doing this recently. Then it stabilized and soon after died completely.
The really terrible thing is now I'm going to have to go out and buy myself an i7 to replace it. Oh woe is me to suffer so.
Though I might go with an AMD Phenom instead. Depends on what package processor/mobo deal I can find.
But to get to the point I'm attempting to make. There is a good chance that the processor is about to go belly up. -
If you send something then immediately switch to the character you want to give it to and claim it. There is a problem where any time that global channels crash every email with attachments gets dumped.
-
I'll keep thinking and maybe something will come to me but right now I'm stumped. Hopefully the next patch will solve this whatever it is.

You could try Dell. Their high end systems are really good. It's just that their service department mainly consists of people who think that the ability to pick lint from between their toes qualifies them as technical geniuses.
Their discount department can provide decent savings. There usually a couple high end systems there that somebody had custom built, and then canceled the order. Also cases with minor scratches and dings will be significantly discounted. -
I've done the banner event on Virtue twice in May. Once in Steel and once in Faultline. And neither of those times was I particularly looking for the event. I just saw the notice pop up and headed to the zone to see if anybody was trying. So yes people do still do the event and yes they still succeed.
The biggest problem I've seen is that those who attempt it don't know that you have to attack all four banners until they become vulnerable. A couple teams will focus on one banner and be convinced that because it never became vulnerable that they didn't have enough participants. That's incorrect. You can have a group of 50 people pounding on one banner and it will never become vulnerable. Once they are vulnerable then they can be attacked one at a time. -
Ok Zero. If your desktop can play it in standard mode then try and use that system to change the settings like I suggested. Make sure the resolution matches the current resolution of your laptop. And since sound might be a problem you should probably turn off sound effects and music too.
If we can get you into game with the laptop at all then you can start altering settings till you crash out and then we'll at least have a bit more of a clue what is going on.
If multiple people are having this problem then we should be able to track it down just like all the other problems the forum has managed to solve in the past. -
Ok Zero. Load in safe mode. Once in game open your graphics settings and make the following changes.
Water effects Low
Shadows Stencil
Ambient Occlusion off
And make sure that your resolution is set to match your desktop resolution exactly,
Then try again and report back.
We'll whip this thing yet. -
Quote:Just to derail things a bit. If you are taking 5 minutes to load past the character loading screen then either your system isn't powerful at all or else you also have problems somewhere along the way. I usually take 30 seconds or so.which loading screen is it getting stuck on? the small loading bar or the one with the characters in the background?
I'm asking because whenever I restart my computer it takes roughly 5min to load past the "character loading" screen. Now since my computer is pretty powerful, that 5 min could be more for you.
I haven't figured out why it's doing it, but after a while i get to the username /password screen. -
Even before you post either of those I would say two things.
Make sure your graphics settings are low. The 9500 is no longer up to the higher end graphics on this game. Also 2 gigs of memory isn't that much. It's ok if you have a higher end graphics card but at the lower end it winds up being gobbled up. The most important settings to lower are Shadows (lower to stencil) and FSAA. Water quality is another big hitter. Play around with the settings.
Type /showfps 1 In the upper right corner you will see your frame rate. Play with the graphics settings and see which ones make it jump up the most.
Also make sure you have plenty of disk space free. When the system is using all of your ram then it's going to start using virtual memory. Low available space on a disk means two things. First, there isn't much room to store the extra data. Two, it's likely to be fragmented all over the place so it will take much longer to read and write from the disk.
Finally just before exiting a mission or otherwise zoning type /unloadgfx
That will clear all the buffered graphics out of your memory and only reload the things within perception range.
And the two changes to your system that would help most would be a better video card and more ram. 1 gig on a 32 bit system, more on a 64 bit. -
Ok, the problem is not with the missing files. 64 bit windows runs 32 bit files in a non standard manner so hijackthis sees them as missing.
Try this. Load the game in safe mode then go into graphics options. Under screen resolution choose windowed mode. In the past the game has run on some systems in windowed mode but not fullscreen mode, and the other way around as well. -

The only other thing I can think of right now is to try restoring to a previous point when you know you were able to play. It might be caused by something that was installed between the last time you played and the last patch. If this works then you can try updating the service packs and other things till you find the one that caused the problem.
Ok, just thought of one more thing. If you are at college there is a chance that they just recently decided to block those ports. -
Of course Enrious is immune to the negative rep given. If your rep level is insignificant or negative then you can not negative rep somebody with high rep. Or rather you can try but it does no good.
Rep manipulation is based on the positive rep of the person repping. (wow, I think I even confused myself on that one) Let me try again. My rep is very low, only about 140. If somebody with no rep were to positive rep me it might give me 1 extra point. If they were to negative rep me it might subtract one or might not affect me at all. If on the other hand Enrious or Phillygirl were to plus or negative rep me it would **** my rep by a huge margin.
So it is completely worthless to try and shoot down somebody with much higher rep than you anonymously or not. -
Do you have a graphics tablet installed? Texas is right that Stardock, Delldock, and other reskinning programs can cause this trouble. However this exact problem has also been caused by graphics tablets. In these cases just turning off the program didn't help, the graphics tablet had to actually be uninstalled completely.

Quote:While checking up on the thread you skim over your original post and suddenly realize that you were completely wrong. You actually quite enjoy the mission author telling you what your character is thinking. "Must have been the lack of caffeine." You think to yourself as you mentally shrug your shoulders and continue on to the next thread. You can never* tell him what he thinks. As soon as you do that, you take his character away from him. It's no longer his.

Damn that complete series set looks nice. Not $235 worth of nice but I would love to have it.
-
I certainly hope that there is nothing more. This is a series that really did tie up what it needed to and there is no reason to continue.
Although I do know what they could do.
Claire of course raises Aaron. Kate tells Sun's mother of the couples fate. When mom dies it turns out she has named Kate as the legal guardian of Ji Yeon. Ji Yeon and Aaron grow up together, fall in love, marry, and decide together to find the island. They go there, do some time leaping, and eventually become the replacements for Hurley and Ben.
Don't blame me if ABC decides to do this. I just realized it's one possible way to revisit the island with known characters. -
Quote:Actually they have said that in the complete series box set there will be an additional 30 minutes in the final episode. An interview type thing where they explain the answers that they were planning on revealing but couldn't fit in. And an additional short feature (14 minutes was the time given) showing Hurley and Ben doing their #1 and #2 routine that happened between Jack's death and the reunion in the afterlife. They have said they have no plans for anything else Lost related.
Agree with the confusion here. Since the island stuff was reality and some were shown to live on while some were shown to die. And especially since the flash sideways was revealed to be death/the afterlife.
