I have to admit the more I have had it (OG) the more I love it.
But..... I am just a sucker for the CoF visuals

I cannot remember......
but I thought I read it somewhere that they were gonna let the costume/color creator let players customize the power pool effects in the future?? (prays they do)

I have 3 Tanks that I got to 50 of different builds;

1) Willpower/War Mace (modeled after Thor)
Tough as nails, does nice damage and endurance is NEVER a problem.
I used to farm lev 53 Maltas (x8) with Sappers, Bosses and the whole 9 and had a LOT of fun while doin that back in the day

2) Fire/Fire/Pyre Mastery and it was just a DAMAGE MACHINE
Would be even better if I ever bothered getting some IO sets in it... but oh well

3) Willpower/Super-Strength/Energy Mastery
I made it basically for the look and feel of it.
Pretty tough and did some nice damage.
One of these days I need to treat it nicer with some sets also.

All of them fun.....
all of them are awesome solo....
on teams of 3 or 8.
Didn't matter to me

Reminds me why I deleted a Kinetic Melee Brute I did til lev 14 in Praetoria once.
Got annoyed like a **** that it seemed like I was knockin adversaries AWAY instead of down... oh well.

Recently I just started solo-farmin a little bit with my Elec/Elec/Mu Brute on the Banished Pantheon Glowie Map in Dark Astoria and I was wondering the same thing too
I started doing it at -1 x8 and rarely got anything dropped of significance.
Then at +0 x8 I started seeing a little better results with drops. (Heck..... can't remember the last time I got a purple or something like that in a long time)
But yeah... I was wondering if there were "optimal" settings for the best drops possible myself

I have to admit...
I use both OG and CoF on a lev 50 Katana/DA Scrapper and it took some getting used to for both of the powers.... but I love them both
Especially since I have my stamina triple slotted with 3 End Modifiers and Physical Perfection done the same way (ALL IOs that help)
So the end is not so big a problem.... and most of the time I do not have all my toggles running at all times depending on who my adversaries are

Sorry about the delay in repsonding lately. (Been workin like a dog at my hotel lately) LOL
I am going to take a LOT of those opinions to heart in the upcoming days (especially with the comments on how to add the extra defenses)
Asside from that aspect (and a doing a little less damage with this build) I am overall pretty happy with it.

I have a 50 Ninjas/Storms/Electric Mastery and it is quite fun and VERTY survivable
With the Ninjas I did not take any of the Arrow Attacks.....
just everything else in the primary.
With the storms I took everything and it makes a HUGE difference in slowing down the enemy, protection and just stopping them in their tracks.
Oh.... and did I mention that it is a LOT of fun? LOL

45+ months vet here too.
Basically for me it is my only "vice".

In the first year or so my wife used to actually get a little jealous OF the game.... and I gave her this little bit of info to ponder and it helped.
Which was;
A) I could be drinking
B) I could be doing drugs and such
C) I could be violent towards her
D) I exercise my God-given freedom to have something else in my daily life (CoX) to "escape the reality" that is the world that which we see each day.
As long as I do not neglect what is expected of me in my daily duties and responsibilities.....
once she understood that it made my decision(s) concerning the game so much easier.

That being said I truly enjoy the escapism is the whole environment/game.
The lore of the charachters, the powers, the people that I play with and or meet.... the whole thing.
Plus... and this is just an observation because I have never played another MMO.....
I respect the fact that THIS GAME is truly loved by the developing staff AND the players alike.
It shows in the product..... which in turn shows daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly with the Forums and Player-base.

I think from time to time about the future stuff in the game and for me personally I have gotten more and more excited about it every year in the 4 years on it now.

I would love to see the Bo/Staff options in the future as a cool power option
Something like a Moonbase would rock of course.
I have to admit like I saw in some of the interviews with the Devs online and such..... "..... competition is a healthy thing"
The coolest thing of all is in agreeing with the original poster of the thread is that CoX has the competition beat hands down

Seeing more Praetoria stuff in the future is always a good thing.
Heck.... my lev 50 Willpower/Mace Tank is itching to stick his War Mace up Tyrant's pooper sooo badly!

Also early flying options are gonna always be nice, LOL

I just ran a regular ol' radio mish on PI with the new build and settings set to even level & x8 vs CARNIES of all things.

Damn that was fun!

I noticed a HUGE upswing in my recharge time for my 3 favorite attacks (Crowd Control, Shatter & Jawbreaker) plus the other attacks too obviously...... and I LOVED that aspect of it.

I noticed a BIG difference in my accuracy also which was sweet

I noticed that the damage output was a little lower...
but I looked at it this way.....
if I am hitting them more often and attacking them more often (with my endurance bar still hanging high too by the way like in my original build)
I will be ok with it

It seemed to me that the defenses were a little lower....
but I could be off a tad.
Once I realized that I needed to nail the Dark Ring Mistresses and then the Master Illusionists faster it went well

I also noticed that I had to da "God Power" (Strength of Will) a lot more often.... but I could live with that too

Now to try to up the level difficulty a notch and perhaps against a different villian group and such..... and see how I feel.

Interesting stuff... especially since I have never been that big of a "numbers guy" (statistics, percentages, etc, etc) when it came to my powers and effects.

I usually play by what "feels" right.....
how well I survive and or how well I can help team-mates.

I have to admit on the very first toon I created about 4 years back I created a Defender just because the name sounded cool
I was soOOooOooo new to MMO-stuff that I just learned a LOT thru trial and error back then.
Once I realized that the toon didn't pack all that much punch for my tastes, I started tinkering with other ATs.

That being said..... I created an Empathy/Dark Blasts/Dark Mastery Defender a few months later and got it to 50.
I have solo'd your average mission from time to time, realizing that the main purpose of the toon is buffage, healage and keepin others alive at all times.
But with the dark blasts and mastery it has I am proud of the offensive punch it has.
Between the Tenacious Testacles as I like to call them (Tenebrous Tentacles) to the debuffs it sends out.... it is one of the more versatile toons I have ever had.
Plus with allignment switching I am gonna make it a villian for a short time so I can delve into the Ghost Widow Patron Powers to have those options to tinker with too

I just ran a dark/dark brute to 22 in just a few days and the end issues were there like usual..... but with the heal involved I was quite pleased.
Plus the damage is nice

Well.....
I just got home from work and I went ahead to Ms. Liberty and did my 2nd build the way that I drew out on paper.
The correct amount of slots for the powers that I chose the sets for and such.
I did the research for the sets based on affordability, what the bonus factor was and the amount of slots needed.
The first part of getting the correct slots is finished.
Now off to WW.
Be back in a few hours with the results

I was gonna say the Presence Pool would be kinda cool to go with the Illusion Powers
Give that extra "touch of scary punch" to the toon..... and if memory serves the end drag is not all that bad either
