  1. What I'm most concerned about in those pictures might strike you as odd but...

What on Earth is that amazing looking tribal design on your cape? For that matter, what cape is that?? Can't recall ever seeing those in game.
  2. How long was the initial development cycle for COH? Something like 8 years wasn't it? From initial thought to actual launch day I mean.

Personally, i think they've been working on COH2 for quite some time now.
They would never divulge this info though until the current game has run it's course. Why would they? All it would serve to do is make everyone playing start to question if they should bother or just wait for the sequel.
That's not even bringing up the desire to have new players subscribe to this game. If a sequel is known to be in the works, we'd lose out on potential players in the interim.

The 'City of' franchise has been far to lucrative for NCSoft to just abandon after this game starts to decline. So while it might be years away I can't see them not doing it.

How closely COH2 resembles COH though, that's very up in the air currently.
  3. How many level 50's are you attempting to 'become an incarnate'?

    None.

Do you feel that doing more than say one hero and one villain is doing 'too much at once'?
    N/A

Do you feel a shift has occured to more time devoted soley to level 50's leaving far less time to level an alt?

Less time, no: fewer players playing low levels to team with, yes.

Do you feel this is a good thing?

    Um...

Do you seem to not have enough time to devote to alt characters because you feel you need to be collecting shards and such?

    I've been playing since 2005 and I have 2 50's so no.

Do you think changing the Weekly Task Force to a Bi-montly Task Force would be 'better'? Perhaps offering a more relaxed atmosphere for the playerbase?

If it meant more players avail. for my level 12 controller to team with, yes.

    Am I just nuts?

If your having fun, it's all good.
  4. The more and more I learn about Issue 20, the less interested I get.
I've already decided the incarnate system just isn't for me. I already have a hard enough time keeping up with all the various forms of currency already in game as is and I really, really dislike large scale raiding and grinding...

    HOWEVER.

I was here for the forum meltdown over ED. I got all worked up in a frenzy with everyone else over it. Hindsight and all, I was wrong. Very wrong. ED stands to me as one of the best improvements to the game to date and we couldn't see it as more than a nerf at the time...

I've spent more money on this game over the past 7 years than I have on any other gaming platform. Ever. There's a reason for that.
    Faith.
I've always had faith in our Dev team. Though I may not be excited about everything they give us, in the end they always end up delivering the goods. Though for the 1st time, I question the direction the game is heading and start to wonder if COH2 would be as epic as I've always imagined, or just a clone of the raidfests flooding the market. I still have faith that WW and crew understand what sets us apart from the others and will come back around once this system is fully realized.
Patience. Over the years I've learned to be patient. Considering ED and GD, I realize I could've left in a tizzy and lost out on years of great times and I'm thankful I was patient. Because in the end they always deliver.

As a final note. To my fellow players who are concerned that this Issue isn't giving us anything. I disagree. Though I may not care for the content or the system, I understand that over the years quite a large sum of our playerbase has been lured away for lack of an endgame.
If by some small measure this system brings them back and I have an even easier time finding teams and start to see Atlas filled with newblood then I consider it to be Full of Win.

Edited to include: I see it going down like this. Tyrant in his lust for power, begins conquest of multiple worlds at the same time. Thinking that if he could control certain sectors that Primal Earth would be easier to conquer.
This spread of power begins to shake the prison holding Rularuu. Who in an instant breaks free and devours said emperor with a mighty gulp. (Thus making the players sick of him being considered Epic happy)
Rularuu, now free and with a full tummy of Incarnate goodness, sets about with his agenda and NOW all the fully prepared Incarnates truly have a threat to deal with.
Oh and Rularuu creates a clone of Tyrant to place back in Praetoria for Shiggles.

  6. My 1st and highest level villain has worn all white from 1-45 with no plans to change. White hat, white trenchcoat, white pants and skin color as light as possible. He came from Hell and they don't have much color down there apparently...

His other costumes are Demon forms with the same outfit, sometimes torn.

my few other villains generally wear something that goes with their concept. But strangly enough that's never been Black and Red.

Now, quite a few of my Heroes are rocking that combo though...

    Mod05's Toys...

I don't know what I'd do without Sonic's popcorn chicken.
  8. After seeing a recent thread asking about the usefulness of Karma KB protection it got me to thinking.

What are the IO's that you personally can't stand going without on your Blasters?

What are some IO's you've always wished you could get?
  9. Bravo, one of those. Wish I'd thought of it deals.
  10. MaestroMavius

    Corr or Blastr

Really it depends on the combo.

Blasters by default will have more damage right out the gate and they pay for it by being wet tissue paper.

Corruptors on the other hand have a 50/50 damage/mitigation right out the gate.

These two variables even out near end game however.

    That said.

Look at something like a Fire/Ice Blaster.
This combo will be damage king from level 1-50 AND have excellent mitigation. Once you get Ice Patch and Shiver everything should melt before they even have a chance to reach you.

With some practice an Energy/Energy Blaster will also have decent mitigation avail in the form of knockback, though this does take some skill.

Ice/Ice Blasters are basically souped up controllers.

Corruptors on the other hand often get saddled with powers that are only useful to teamates and or certain situations. Their damage relies more on debuffing the enemy 1st and then blasting away. However, the trade off comes from the added protection and self heals open to you.

Truth is, each AT plays nothing like the other. Unless your just looking at a few key aspects. Personally, after rolling so many Blasters and Brutes the damage just isn't there on Corr for me. Not even my Fire/Kin feels that strong. True I can stand and fight without having to run and use tactics as much but I view the squishy aspect's to be somewhat of a metagame, running circles around mobs to align KB, setting Ice Patch in doorways etc. etc.

Personally, I say roll a few of each up to level 22 and slot some SO's.
Then go with the one you like the best!
  11. Yeah but improving the Search function... Even rolling out the que feature won't help me in my quest for content.

You see, I love casually working through the stories, reading all the flavor text and taking my sweet, sweet time.

I wouldn't dream of asking anyone to pad a TF for me that could possible take me weeks to complete. I'd love to be able to do a mission or two and then switch to an alt or log off, come back a few days later and do another few...

That's just a personal wish. Seeing as how the whole concept behind Task Forces is the fact that it's content you need a team for I don't ever expect this to happen. Just saying personally I would like it.

    Mod05's Toys...

I think GG just swallowed her tongue thanks to Lisar's last comment.
  13. See this thread right below yours

Much debate currently about it. Personally I'd like the option to start it solo, but I know that'll never happen.

    Mod05's Toys...

5 Guys is all about the fries... and free peanuts.

At least it is here in Alabama, the burgers always end up just be a greasy mess.
  15. That was great! I think the music alone could bring to mind Hughes though.
  16. My level 46 Necro/Dark plays like an ambusher.
I generally keep them in passive whenever not fighting, I've never really needed bodyguard mode on him. I'll pick a corner and set my cadre of cannibals there. Then I'll run to a group and lay Darkest Night on one in the middle, then run back around the corner. I usually target the 1st one to come in sight and click Attack, then start laying down Tar pit, Stare and Healing as needed. Clicking Howling if the mob is really large or things go south. I generally only summon the Dark Servant for boss fights.
Solo naturally. I made a rule for this guy to not team ever, for concept reason.

Robots/Storm on the other hand is a mass of chaos. I generally leave them in passive until I want them to attack. Using gale and Hurricane to deny the mobs any chance of escape from the pew pew deathcapade. I use Aid Other as needed in conjuction with O2. Spamming Nem Staff and Blackwand on runners and just in general. For most groups I don't even need to worry about using Rain or anything else. They all die before it's needed.

Demon/Thermal So far only level 16 so not much to go on yet. But already plays very unique from the others. I leave the Demons in Aggressive all the time. So far I haven't had much need for the shields as at this level the heals are currently enough to prevent any pets from dying. Playstyle is more run and gun. Started out as a concept reason but turned out to be pretty fun. Using my two whip attacks to soften them up a bit as my creatures rip them apart.

Ninja/Thermal on the other hand is currently 22 and has needed the shields for every level... I keep them all bubbled, usually use smoke on the Jounin sending him in for the alpha. I stay busy trying to keep these crackheads alive with healing and inspirations. When they click it's a beautiful thing. But the slightest variant and everything goes to hades in nanoseconds. Like having a crew of weak blasters with me.
  17. Ah, I stand corrected. If the man himself wants to make sure he's releasing a quality follow up, instead of another generic sequel then I approve. I just hope it isn't shelved forever.
  18. **Angrily shakes fist at Disney**

I look back at the falling out Pixar and Disney had and blame the mouse ears for keeping Incredibles 2 from us.
  19. Keep it.

    Slot it.

    Love it.

I buy one of these as a ritual now whenever my blasters hit level 22.

If you need a mule for it I usually pick Stealth.

Just bought one last night for 15 million. Well worth the price for the next 30 levels to be on my feet.

Edited to add: Yes, it will work always, not just when the power it's slotted in is active.
  20. Yeah, but any special forces member wouldn't do something like that...

    Without taking some guns along.

    Mod05's Toys...

    Well thats a bit...

Wait! Now I'm more interested in what exactly it says on his whiteboard.
Don't mention the * on the boards...

    Hmmm, curious.
  22. The 3rd character I ever created way back when was an Illusion/FF

I instantly fell in love with it. I was shocked when I actually got the name
IllusionForce, even if the upper case 'I' makes it look like lllusionForce in game.

I picked Teleport and would start off by porting into the middle of a group and hitting Flash. I'd then casually back out of the group and let the team go to work.

Then Issue 6 hit and with it a pretty severe nerf to the recharge rate on Flash. It went from being my go to power to only be recharged every 3rd group. Keep in mind this was long before the market or IO's. So I sadly shelved the toon and moved on to other alts.

He sits there to this day, taunting me. Forever trapped at level 22.

I saw that his last long in was 2049 days ago so I went ahead and popped on him for a bit, once the wave of Badge awarded text subsided I found that the 'resentment' I had long ago was just me getting caught up in the ED frenzy, that and a few well placed IO's and he was back in business!!

  24. Yeah I noticed this for the 1st time the other night.

I dinged level 8 and told the dwindling team I was gonna take the Death train.

Ran off to be clobbered alone and then was shocked to see I was still in the sewers!
