I'd never done a transfer before last week and last night so I wasn't sure if I should bug it or not. That had to be what happened because I was doing it quick, checking the name then transferring as soon as I could. Truth be told, I wasn't even going to log in the 1st one I transferred, hadn't in 2 years. Just making room for new alts, when I saw the 1 after making sure I'd keep my name... The panic.

The two I didn't get the 1 on, I believe had been names held by a duplicate that I deleted and then transferred.

It does seem that, among the helpful chaps, are spread out griefers purposely misleading new players.

I've seen numerous players asking how to get to 50 the fastest so they can be ViP...
I've seen numerous players asking what the next 10 level trial is after DFB, like they expect every 10 levels to fly by in one 20 minute trial...
I've seen a few players asking how to collect gear off corpses because they were told it wasn't obvious and they were missing great rewards...
I've had a few players quit on me when, half way through a standard mission, they expressed dissatisfaction with not having Dinged in the last 10 minutes, at level 16-18...

I just chalk it up to;
1. There have always been and always will be 'Griefers'.
2. We're seeing it more obviously now because of the influx of players needing help and being forced to use one channel to get it.


I've expressed my opinion on the low level experience in the Tutorial feedback thread so I won't bother reposting, just know that you aren't the only one seeing this and having a bit of a worry over it.

Just a hunch because of how it was in the print mag and it's staring us in the face in the costume creator this whole time. Plus the fact, like you mentioned, that they've already released and charged for 1 set that was expected to be free to ViP (CoT) and another that wasn't expected at all (Barbarian)

So, I think they won't want the firestorm for charging for yet another costume set, before giving us another freebie (Us being ViP's)

Speculation is like that though, we go with our instinct and interpret the signs in varied ways based on our current outlook/emotional investment. You could be right and they end up charging for it due to the amount of work required. *Shrug*

I just know they are on record having said ViP's will still be getting free powersets and costume sets.

I'm not looking for justicfication from the Dev's. They could require us to wear hats made of peanut butter in order to play and asking for justification would be silly, their house, their rules.

What I'm wondering is, how posters can shoot down the replying to tells part of the suggestions, claiming it has something to do with RMT. I just can't see how only being able to reply to tells sent to them is an opening for the goldsellers is all.

I'm open to being illuminated on what I'm missing there. If the suggestion is being shot down simply because they want to entice the $5 thats one thing, just don't pretend it has anything to do with RMT if it doesn't.

None, they are already penalizing themselves plenty by missing all the fun.

It may be a bug, but I'm 100% certain it worked this way atleast on 4 toons I transferred from Liberty to Virtue.

I checked to make sure the name was open on Virtue, if it was I then moved my toon off Liberty and to Virtue, using the 6 transfers for a $1.

The 1st time I did it, upon seeing the 1, I panicked, thinking someone had snatched my name in the few minutes it took. Upon logging in I got the rename prompt and removing the 1 was all it took.

Multiply that by 3 more times and I'm sure I speak the truth, like I said, may be a bug, but I'd appreciate if you mention that possibility first before calling me a liar in the future. I don't troll 'round here, and I don't post misinformation.

I can say that it isn't always like that. As I transferred two more from Infinity to Virtue and didn't have the 1 at the end the final two times. I just figured it had something to do with the specific name though.

Anyways, the fact remains, if they transfer a toon and then make another, taking the now free name, upon transferring back they will be able to rename the controller for free.

Is it sad that the wiki has better info than the official site?

You will get a rename when you transfer even if the name is available.

When you transfer it'll come up with the name and a 1 at the end. All you have to do to keep your name if it's free is remove the 1.

Or you can pick another one! SO transferring will allow you to change the name and free up the name on the original server. Or you could keep the name on both servers.

Not sure if there is an hourly cool down on transfers but I know I was able to transfer one and then another the next morning.

I'm pretty sure you can only hold 10,000 on the trial tier and can't trade. Buying points gets you increased inventory and I think you have to be tier 2 or 3 to trade influence. Though I'm not sure so...

Easiest way to check, other than waiting for someone to come along with the answer is check his rewards page. To the right, the little thermometer, if you hover over, will tell what that level unlocks.

Virtue does seem to be more populated than Freedom these days, though that could just be thanks to an overwelming number of returnees that lived there to begin with combined with the 'Get away from farmers' rush that happened after the transfers

Freedom Atlas is packed with 'aggressive players' while the rest of the zones are rather, well, not. Comparitively speaking.

I've still yet to see a valid reason why giving free players the ability to respond to our tells, not send them, only respond, can be a bad thing and an opening for RMT.

I also can't understand why we aren't allowed to drop a wakie on them, holding the rest of the team up in the process.

All the other restrictions I'm fine with. Even the no tells doesn't bother me all that much (just trying to prevent the blind invite becoming the norm)
but not being able to help out a fallen comrade until he ponies up some cash is rather annoying for ViP's trying to finish missions with new players that die, every. single. spawn...

Got my 2nd A-Merit from the SSA last night and headed to Trident for my LotG. Without realizing I was wasting my time seeing as I was only level 18...

So, I decided to pull up/auctionhouse, since I hadn't used that reward yet, and check the going rate. My funds are quickly depleting with all the new players, anyways.

The prices were consistent with what they'd been the past 6 months or so. (The time I've been watching) Then I clicked a level 30 recipe and noticed that somebody got very very lucky and or unlucky depending on the case.

In the history, among the 100 millions, was a single transaction for 12,000!
I know I would've smiled!

Got a question though. I don't have a 50 I can farm with, and don't really require all that much. The 400 million I got off a lucky purple drop has lasted me over a year. It's just now getting low with all the 20 mill I'm giving out left and right.

So, I debated saving up A-Merits to get a Glad and become a billionaire for the 1st time. Or, just cashing in every 2 for a LotG along the way. Which of the two would you pick?

I did kind of smirk at the 1st post after the suggestion. 1 million % indeed.
