This could mean, low levels will be getting a room that is affected by a temporal disturbance, causing time in the vicinity to increase exponentially or stop entirely.

    Or...
It could mean low levels will be getting a new emote, that allows for humorous mocking of long-winded lectures.

    Or....
It could mean that I'm just a weirdo that has nearly every scene of Trek memorized and ZWill was just using that gif as the 1st one to pop up for 'winking'. *Shrug*

  2. My only familiarity with GL comes from animated shows...

Thinking about this question, I realized that anything the ring constructs is still attached to the ring via a strand of energy.

That might just be for the visual representation of the rings power, and in the comics he can create objects that aren't tethered to the ring, that I'm unsure about.
I'm sure somone knows the answer to that.

If it is always attached to the ring though...

Also, just an observation. From that panel with the popcorn, are we sure he manifested the popcorn and isn't just passing some real popcorn they had via the ring?

Which is why I figured they'd rather rework an existing zone (Eden) that is seldom used, instead of making an entire new one.

With the rift idea, you'd be able to have Dino's and Cavemen alongside each other by incorporating it into the lore, that the rift is unstable and keeps sucking up various eras or such.

Maybe even a giant T-Rex battling a giant Ape in the middle of the woods, ala Eochai and Jacks struggle.

It does seem that I'm in the minority on wanting Dinosaurs though, so other than Chimera type creatures like XZero suggested, what else would we want?
  4. Not exactly like Green Latern. His source of power is the chunks of meteor he absorbed. After extending himself for an extended period of time his powers start to fade, unless he comes into contact with more of the meteor. Which comes in the form of a rather large chunk carried by Bill Cosby.

Brief exposure to this chunk seems to revitalize his powers fully for some time. However it's suggested that it is indeed temporary and, without the chunk to recharge with...
Doesn't help that an ensuing struggle ends up causing the remainder of the chunk to be absorbed either.

While true that he isn't very skilled with his powers, it is due to the limited nature of it, making it not something you can practice with much. That and the fact that Jeff really wasn't into comics at all. Still far more useful than Blankman's skill set.

(Meteor Man sits proudly in my DvD collection, one of my favorites growing up. )

    Thanks for stating the obvious...

As my suggestion has been made, oh something in the order of once a month for the last 7 years, this is less a suggestion and more an inquiry into what other things we want for the new 4-leg rig.

Hence my posting it here, the general discussion section, you know to generate discussion where the most people will see it, now with the added benefit of all access as well.

Now turn off the police siren and get back to being productive you! :P

Yeah, we're used to filling the zone to the limit.
I chalked it up to all that last minute Christmas shopping.

    New frontiers

For literal years I've wanted something in this game that I've always been told simply wasn't possible without major work.

Well, the major groundwork has now been done so the main reason it wouldn't be done is gone.

We have a 4-leg skeleton now!!!

I want Dinosaurs. I want an entire lost world.

    Here's my idea....

Take Eden and do a little bit of reworking, not much since it already has a primal feel to it. However, the new lore is that a temporal rift has been created by the DE in a failed attempt to restore the Earth to it's pre-human state.

This Rift allows the Jurrasic era to merge with present day Eden. Much like Salamancha and Croatoa. Bringing all manner of Dinosaur into the zone, possibly a volcano etc. With missions to seal the rift etc.
Most of the Dinosaurs are passive, like Sally, only getting aggressive when directly threatened. However keep an eye out for the predatory ones roaming the zone! A T-Rex GM and roaving packs of raptors.

Naturally, this would led to the Prehistoric Cosutme pack. :P

So that's it, give us Dinosaurs with your nifty new 4-legger.

Any interest in this or am I alone? Anything else you'd like to see the new skeleton used for?
  8. Meteor Man by a longshot. Minus the fear of heights naturally. :P

The 20 hour restriction is most likely for money reasons then. Whats funny is you have players in this thread defending a policy which was probably implemented to swindle them out of their money.

Ah the decline of reason........heralds the coming of a New Dark Age lol

    I really shouldn't...

Sometimes you just know a perspective is hopeless no matter what the facts...

    *Shrugs*

The 20 hour cool-down timer is to prevent ME from being able to run countless morality missions and thereby, flood the market with Rares.

When the SSA's 1st came out, you could claim the A-Merit and then run it again and claim the A-Merit. This one ability to claim mulitple A-Merits destroyed the market for LoTG +7.5's.

They went from being worth 160 million at WW's to a measly 10 million, before climbing back up after the 'fix'.

That is the reason and it is a very reasonable one as well.

    Now... That said...

I see no reason why the same coding that was added to the SSA's, the A-merit timer, couldn't be added to Tips as well. So you could still run Tip missions and get the morality, you just wouldn't be able to claim an A-Merit until the cooldown. Thereby stopping the potential exploit while still allowing progress.

Of course your right though, it's a moot issue at this point, with the advent of an Alignment change token being added to the store, there is no way they will change it now.

To me, it's that Z feels like 'just one of us' but with the inside scoop. His easy going personality also makes the other dev's personalities come through.

    MM toss up?

Being your 1st MM, I'd go with Dark for sure.

    Create a GoTo macro;
    /macro goto, petcomall goto

This will let you have even more control over your minions. I found it a must on my Necro/Dark. Using it, I became an ambush predator. Luring huge mobs around corners into my waiting cadre of cannibals and tar patch.

Also, right click on the follow macro and change it to defensive. (Unless this is now default, haven't rolled a new one in ages)

    I've played: Necro/Dark, Thugs/Traps, Demon/Thermal, Ninjas/Thermal, Bots/Storm
and for the majority of them I found it much more effective to avoid BG mode until level 40+ and just keep them in passive all the time, unless directly attacking something. This keeps them more in control and allows you to have more direction on the speed of encounters, either massing all pets on one target or spreading them out etc.

Roll a few and experiment with various playstyles. I'm sure you'll find something that works for you.

I'll take it on one condition....

It has to have a jungle setting with Dinosaurs! (No more we can't do that without a 4-leg rig excuses!!!!)

It was at 1st. When the SSA's came out, you could run one and grab and A-merit, run the same one right afterwards and claim a 2nd one!

Needless to say, I stocked up on LoTG's for a few weeks, crafted a few and sold the rest for a bankroll.

As you'd expect, I wasn't the only one doing this and, with the addition of the LoTG in the store, the price in WW for +7.5's has dropped recently.

Use to be a steady 150 million.

Now the price is from 50-100 million.
  16. Obviously thats the SuperHero known as Ultra-Balance Man on the phone with his dry cleaners asking why his suit is taking so long.
  17. While it is an interesting concept on the outside, and one that'd I'd enjoy experiementing with, I doubt it'd be feasible without a great deal of work.

IIRC, most enemies in the game only have 3 or 4 attacks plus the added ranged attack even at level 50. As giving them the full range of attacks a player has would make it not so fun.

So you'd end up having a very limited number of powers you could actually use from encounter to encounter. Certain situations would arise, where you had nothing but brawl to use as a result.

Then, as you mentioned, you have the opposite end of the spectrum. AV's and GM's all have unique attacks with unique values to them. You'd either have to make AV's and GM's be immune to the entire set/ which wouldn't go over so well. Or make the mimic'd powers far less effective.

Interesting concept. I just can't see it working with the game mechanics.

After giving this some more thought, and reading ZWill's insistence that this is how the story was always intended...

I'm like you, I don't go to the end of the mystery first, that defeats the whole purpose of reading a mystery.

    However...

In books and Movies/TV, some stories are actually written to let you know a key fact such as a death ahead of time, to keep you on the edge waiting for it.
Supernatural for instance will often show some predicament that Dean or Sam are in, only to revert to a week earlier for the actual show, building up to the finale when we get back to where we started.

As long as the story was intended to not have this be a shocker from the get go, I still have faith that it will deliver the same level of satisfaction.

While it's true that you and I and countless others don't like spoilers and almost feel cheated not getting to 'find it ourselves' the fact is apparently, this isn't really a spoiler, it's a key part of the narrative that we know ahead of time. I'm cool with that.

However, now I am hoping for some grand showdown/gesture between Cole and Stefan killing/sacrificing them both.

    Thanks for reassuring us Z!

  20. What's Terranova? :P

Seriously, Jurassic Park is my all time favorite movie/book and when I heard about Speilberg doing this...

    I realized before I finished the article, that I'd want to stay away from it as one of two things would most likely happen;
    A) I'd get really into it and have it jerked away ala No Ordinary Family.
    B) It'd end up being an elaborate set piece thats rarely seen, in favor of attempting to capture the Lost audience with drama.

Decided I'd pass and just pick up the complete seasons on DvD down the line, if it ends up being worth anything.
