Quote:Tell that to the producers of Jersey Shore and Teen Mom and Toddlers & Tiara's and... and...After all, 500 lb men in speedos or writings that make people dumber by reading it should be moderated for the good of everyone else. One person's freedom is not more important than everyone elses if that person's freedom tramples on everyone else's freedom.

Leading to 100 more years of laughing at how stupid those 'experts' were in our time.
Playing along though;
This age coming to an end will witness the merging of the multiverse, consolidating back to the standard 11 alternate Earths. This dimensional reseting removes the thousands of nearly identical parrallell Earths, thereby matrix style downloading all the knowledge acquired by the other you's into your subconcious.
This merging also frees the Mana pool, to once more flow freely. The 1st time in nearly 3000 years. Giving those humans that have evolved enough, control over various elements.
The ensuing emergence of 'mutants' will see a real life X-men Normals Vs Magi battle ensue amongst humanity. Those that can control the Mana stream naturally and those that attempt to do so with technology to even the gap.
The Evolution Revolution. -
Terminal case of Altitis has led me to many many creations over the past 6 years.
I play all AT's except Tanks. (Most likely as I'm a Blaster at heart and can't stand the anemic damage)
I have yet to roll a SOA past level 12 though...
Still haven't nailed a concept for that AT.
Like Stormbird, I get burned out easily if I only play one AT.
I generally switch up week from week with Blasters and Scrappers being the usual mix/match.
Other AT I mix in with frequency would be Controllers. Unless I'm trying my best to buckle down and get one specific toon levels, even this proves difficult though. -
I bought TW and the pack a few days after they came out. I still haven't rolled one though.

Lets all welcome the coming Year of Fear!
Brought to you by the History Channel 24/7 until the.... day after.
*Personally I'm hoping/betting on a zombie apocalypse. -
This is sig worthy, if I ever change my sig that is.

I thought they were English words.

I was just expressing my own confusion on the poltico nonsense... read into it whatever you want.
You seem to be the only one making the statements is all, everyone else was either using it in jest or explaining the meaning. *Shrug* -
Quote:So who says they represent you? At what point was your name mentioned? Are you claiming to be a 99er and still hold with a political party bent on pushing the country over the edge for the personal gain of a small minority? Good luck with that.
Meanwhile in the Twilight Zone... -
Bah...
The Main sites side-by-side really needs to be updated with more info, I ended up having to scour google for the answer.
I was wrong. As a Premium (depending on reward tier) you have to purchase the Epic AT's before you can unlock them. Once you do though, they are good forever.
I'm kinda surprised about that actually. I recall the outcry over MM's and Controllers being locked but don't recall a single moan about Epics. -
Static Shock!
X-Men: Evolution
I seem to be alone in my enjoyment of this series. Possibly because the only knowledge I had about X-Men came from animated shows, so the changes didn't bother me as much.
Really starts to ramp up there with Apocalypse and all. The final shot with them being grown up still makes me wish it'd kept going...
Also, as a longtime F.O.L.C I have to thank Tannim222 for the mention. Lois and Clark the new adventures of Superman was one of my 1st exposures to Superheroes.
I just watched Seasons Greedings the other night actually. -

The world is quickly developing a fatal case of ADHD thanks to the myriad of marvels available to us now.
You wanna know why movies suck? Because the audiences attention span has shrank to microscopic levels over the years.
Tis just the age we live in, being in the decline of an empire, instead of during it's ascendency. Both have pros and cons. -
It's the anonymous nature of the beast combined with the inability to decipher tone of statements/body language etc.
When in a face to face situation, discussing something is more civil because of the ability to know that your words are being heard and understood. This also makes it easier to go back and re-explain key parts of your arguement when they aren't understood. Knowing that this 'back and forth' is how it works, makes you more willing to remain calm while discussing it.
Online however, you don't have the luxury of being able to 'read' them. You have to trust that your words are enough to convey the emotion behind them as well. Then, not being able to be sure that the person even bothered to read your words, you end up repeating points in an effort to make it clear.
This leads to the snowball effect...
Combine that with the invisible man syndrome* and there ya go.
*It's amazing what you can do... when you don't have to look at yourself in the mirror any more. -
Quote:I love being a VIP, but then again I am not a tier 9 vet, so the choice isn't so simple.
I'm full tier 9, all Celestial etc, I don't have a single incarnate and I rarely bother with IO's....
I'll be ViP til the day they shut em down or I can't afford the cost!
I've continued to pay for months on end, even when I was without a computer, just to support the game I love, no reason to stop now. -
Quote:Beautifully said!Yes, I want both this and the reverse. If the mechanics are intended to make us numerically weak, then the artwork, writing and animations should support this. If we're supposed to be weakened and the civilians strengthened, I should be able to understand this by a casual glance at the situation without having infer what the conceptual intention was behind the numbers.
The reverse of this is also relevant. When we have a certain concept, writing and presentation in mind, then the numbers should reinforce this. If the concept here is that people are supposed to win the hearts and minds of the people of Praetoria, who are weak in mind and body, then the numbers should reflect that. The people should be easy to kill and mostly harmless, and it should be impossible to win without having their support.
Computers are based on numbers, yes, but then painting is based on chemistry, sculpture on geology and television on optics. But objectively speaking, computers are just a tool for the creation of art, and it is this artwork which must use the mechanics of its chosen medium to create a greater concept than just "numbers." Ultimately, mechanics are not the game. Mechanics exist to give life to the concept behind the game, and to make the player enjoy the process. One of the coolest things I've done in Portal 2 is to physically hand a cube to my co-op partner without employing any complex tricks. Just a simple handover. I'm sure the "numbers" to make this work were complex, but they were done well enough to make the exchange both immersive and satisfying.
And when the "numbers" become a limiting factor, then the concept should work around that. In Silent Hill, the old PSX couldn't support the kind of draw distance that would be needed to render the actual town. Instead of trying to hide that, the developers used the limited draw distance to represent the oppressive fog that permeates the town and actually gives it the creepy atmosphere the franchise is famous for.
"Numbers" are not an excuse. The entire point of the business of game development is to use numbers to create something more. When developers fail to do so, that's a failure of game design.
Let me rephrase that: I have a big problem when people claim to represent ME when they never asked for my opinion or even know who I am. -
Yes but you left out an important part.
The rocks have been dipped in the lovely Well. So are now GodRocks.
You think that's something? You should see what happens when paper gets soaked in the stuff! Paper that cuts the heavens, that's what...

Sadly no.
The wish list is merely a tool for you to keep track of things you want to buy but would rather wait for;
The funds to purchase it
A sale
Doing more research
So you see something you want, but can't afford it until payday. You can add it to the Wishlist and that way you won't forget what it was and you won't have to go searching again.
At this time, we can't even gift points to others. -
I think the OP was really just trying to get all of us onboard the gravy train...
I'd never even heard about AFK PvP farms before this thread, yet reading this whole thing makes it sound like the easiest way to make big bank.
Certainly trumps my 2 A-merits for a LoTG every other month payday!
I won't be doing this myself though, as I don't have the extra accounts or inclination to leave my game on all night. I don't disparage those that do however, as noted above, we wouldn't even have the limited supply we currently get without them apparently. As long as we don't have literally thousands of players doing this constantly, as that would destroy the economy, I don't expect the Dev's to care either.
