Quote:... Okay, thanks. I am glad for the help. I just wish you read my OP a little better. I did say surgeon, as I was talking to them but nothing was happening.A) You must be at a Cosmetic Surgeon to do any kind of gender changing or anything like that. If you're just looking to do regular costume changing stuff, including power customization, any tailor will do.
2) Your origin specifies which attack you get. Only Magic origin gets the Apprentice Charm. If it's not in your tray, click "Powers" on your tray and look in the Temporary Powers list.
III) There is no III. -
I have one character, a Villain, that for some reason I am not getting the same option to use the surgeon or have the level 1 magic charm attack.
Can someone help me? -
Quote:So what would you say is a good team build for a Claw/Nin?Works the best is really subjective. But claws is a great set so you should be happy with it. /Nin is possibly the most popular secondary.
1. In general, Defense is ideal, positionals slightly better than typed. Not sure what you mean by Mystic unless you're talking about the Mu Patron set.
2. Health and Stamina are very helpful to every build, but almost never necessary. Take them if you can fit them in, they will make everything you do easier, reduce your downtime, and increase your survivability and your endurance will increase your damage output. Can't go wrong there. But if your build is tight you can simply put more end reduction in your attacks.
3. Combat Jumping plus Super Jump tends to be the fastest/most versatile. Fly is the easiest. If you go with Haste then Super Speed is only one pick away and on stalker builds that is helpful for saving power picks.
And what abilities would you skip on for primary and secondary? -
-
P.S. After looking over the guides listed. I feel I have a real winning combination here..
Not a single guild listed on the front page, makes me feel I chose a less than ideal set. -
Hello Board,
Could you help me out really quick please? I have a level 20 Claw/Ninjitsu Stalker I am bringing to an event tonight, but it is rather old and could use a quick re-specification. I was wondering a few things.
1. Can a defensive focused stalker work? I really like the looks some of the mystic defensive ability and would like to focus on them.
2. Should I worry about the stamina ability?
3. Which movement ability would work the best for a stalker, offensive or defensive.
In the end I am looking for a stalker that works the best, and is the most helpful in a team.
I know its a bit last minute and I can wait till later. So if you have time I would really appreciate it.
Thanks -
While I think they are doing an aesthetic effect for this with the new kinetic melee power, I think this is still a good idea.

Quote:/signedAssault Rifle could really do with an accuracy bonus, much like Pistols has. If you think about it, an assault rifle would be MORE accurate than twin pistols, as you only have one weapon to aim.
Full Auto works great as it is. No, seriously; Build Up + Full Auto = anything white is dead. End of. Heck, if its a MINION its pretty much dead, unless its purple conning, and thats your own fault.
Flamethrower needs front loaded damage. It really does. It has a horrendous endurance cost, takes a fairly long time to animate, and is only DoT. Its too spread out, to the point of nearly being anaemic. If theres ever a power I skip on AR, its flamethrower, due to the end cost and time to animate.
Beanbag, IMO, works fine as it is.
But anything to bump AR a little bit would be nice, and I think an Acc bonus would do nicely.
These are all great and well put suggestions. Using a single rifle should be innately more accurate than using two pistols, because pistols are innately less accurate, especially at range, and using two is IRL unpractical as accuracy gets even worse as you loose the ability to aim right unless you take turns with the guns. -

Quote:You know that actually is a really good idea. This will make it so that when people just join in they can have some of the stuff they were not here for, like waiting 3.5 years for the pre-order CoV helmets.Their actual vet level will stay the say and this way the Vets can get it for FREE as a veterans reward. While the others will just have to wait.if you can just buy them there's no point having them as 'veteran rewards', you might as well just put them in the NC Store at 14.95 each or whatever.
Maybe only allow them to buy stuff up to a year or two from where they actually are?
P.S. Another idea would be to allow them to pay to double their vet level. That way there won't be any cherry picking, and they will still have something to look forward to. So every 3 months when they get a new level they can pay extra to add another level. Considering what is offered, $5 to $7.50 charge per upgrade might not be such a bad idea considering how many there are and what is really offered, as it is clearly less than an average booster. -
So Ninja Sword works better than the Dual Blades?
-
Quote:Yes. I chose the Ninja Sword style because it was the only one that had access to the Vanguard Katana at that time, at-least according to paragon wiki. Now I look again, right when I am about to get the katana to find that the soul reason I didn't go two swords is now gone, and to top it off they got the best of both worlds too. I am more than a little demotivated.I'm not sure I'm following your complaint. Are you saying you chose Katana over Dual Blades because you wanted a specific weapon?
I think you're correct in that Dual Blades has more options, both standard and unlockable, but I don't think that's a recent change. Weapon Customization was added about 2.5 years ago, so this information has been out there for quite a while.
I disagree that Dual Blades looks better than Katana, since I tend to like quite a lot of the powers and animations in this game. (The exception being anything Stone.) But that's something we each decide based on our own preferences. Maybe instead of another Stalker, you can roll a Brute or Scrapper who use Dual Blades. I actually prefer those over Stalkers, and they will definitely give you a different feeling as you play through the character.
To help you plan your next toon, see http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page
P.S. The problem is NOT that I did not do the proper research, as I DID do that via the very site you suggested. In-fact, I didn't do proper research at the start, as I re-started it at level 10 back to level 1 from Two Sword to Ninja Sword, just so I could have the Vanguard Katana. -
Sorry this is a bit of a rant.
Okay, I am a little annoyed here. Not sure if this is the right forum but this is my best guess.
When I got this character concept I was inspired by the Vanguard Katana or Sword. Looking at the motions I decided to go with the Katana. I FINALLY get my character to level 35 and with 50 merit points and what do I noticed today...
The Two Swords style now can use BOTH the Vanguard Katana and Sword! I didn't even consider this sytle because of the energy sword type they had, but now.. I feel cheated. I would have by far gone with the two weapon style. Lets face it, in most situations for the stalkers two weapons look way better than one, and I thought I would go for the ONE thing these other styles had that the two weapon styles didn't have. Things like this really make me wish I could respecification my primary attack power, or some way to have interchangable primary powers, but even start to metion that in the suggestions section and you will be hit with flame so fast you will not be able to find the second "i" in respecification.
So I guess I have another character to build, that will look almost exactly the same, with the same secondary power. So I know there isn't anything I can do, but I am a angry.
P.S. Perhaps I am wrong that this is a recent change, but that aside the two sword style seems to have a great deal more options in general. So with the stalker who does not get a shield, it seems universally obvious that if you are going for aesthetics, the two sword style is the best option among the swords. -

Why would SG mode effect the same costume part in 2 different ways without any modification the SG mode?
I'll check, but this most likely isn't the problem. -
I know the chosen boots have a 2nd color as they did before I tried the samurai armor boots. I tried both the Valkyrie 2 and Warrior Leather 1 boots, and the 2nd color stopped working after I tried to use the samurai boots, which also at first had its 2nd color not work.
I have now tried to re-do the samurai boots again, now the 2nd color is working, but I really don't have the inf to try and change it again.
Do you guys get that many noobs here? -
I don't know if this is relevant, but I just got my 18th month veteran award.
As of now, for some reason my my male model my secondary foot costume color isn't working. It is remaining the same as my primary. Can this be fixed?
Thanks
P.S. More details. The secondary color shows up in the character creation, but when I show up in actual play the secondary is the same as the base.
Update: I when and tried to re-use the samurai boots and after paying out even more inf to change them a 3rd time my secondary colors of my boots are working for the samurai boots at least. Don't know whats going on here, but I hope I don't have to do this every time I want to change boots now.
I have tried turning off the game and re-started it, but that doesn't change anything. -

Quote:I didn't know there was a game screen shot function. What key please?Do you mean the screenshots in your CoH screenshot folder, or when trying to paste from the Clipboard?
Vista is wonky about screenshots saving to the Clipboard -- sometimes it works, more often it takes a picture from a few minutes previously. But they are always in the screenshot folder. I don't know if Win7 has the same issue.
I was using clipboard. -
I don't know if I am the only one, or if this is a common problem. Thought I'd ask really quick before I have to run. I am using windows 7 and all my screen shots are coming up black. Can this be fixed or gotten around?
Thanks -

Quote:Sigh, I am not trying to cut on you here. I am trying to work with you... I like your idea. Okay you found a reference, fine. I just think an armor protecting from a quasi physical energy, like negative energy, makes a bit more sense. However its up to the dev.s to decide this so, best of luck.I'll give you a reference: the years that I have spent roleplaying and creating new stories and concepts. I don't need to spend an hour looking up some obscure and idiotic comic or book to justify an ability that I personally design.
But hey. That's okay. If you want to keep pretending it's not possible for fantasy internet pretend power armor to create a fantasy internet pretend energy shield to protect yourself from fantasy internet pretend psychic attacks, then fine, but don't expect anyone to take you seriously.
EDIT: Here's your reference.
"All you have to do is block the signal. Psychic abilities --- at least according to the Air Force's Project Stargate ---are the brain stretching outside of the body to manipulate localized EM fields and electrical energy. Most thought is electrical in nature, after all." -
Quote:I just think it should be switched to negative energy.1. I don't think people running at 90mph and jumping to ridiculous heights, throwing sharks at each other and using a technicolour assortment of superpowers, is supported in the media either - but people PVP all the time.
2. >implying mez protection makes a defense set too powerful
P.S. That seems to fit the flavor a bit better. Unless you can provide some references to mental protection.
