Assuming the "multiple players in the group doing the same CoP only counts as 1 attempt" clause doesn't actually apply to this badge...

My feeling is if they wanted this new stealth power to be "marginally" useful in combat they could have linked it to the code they use for travel suppression. The idea is that while it's on instead of suffering from a few seconds of suppression it would keep you under the full travel suppression effect as long as the power is on. Being forced to only move at a snail's pace seems fair enough to keep this power balanced.

As it is now I only ever plan to "use" this power for RP purposes. *shrugs*

Well at least that makes a little more sense.
This'll probably still be the -very- last badge we worry about getting regardless.
  5. Perhaps a simpler idea than creating an entirely new set of powers related to a "Doppleganger MM" would be to allow MMs the option of using their own appearance to replace the current graphics used on current MM pets. It could be an option in the power customization screen at the tailors'. This would be the developmentally "cheap" way to do it.

That was actually one of the bigger "problems" I had with movie. I sort of didn't mind the "ibridge" that was clearly designed by Apple and I sort of didn't mind the steampunk distillery as the engineering room when considered separately. What bugged me was how both of those things were on the SAME ship?!? Talk about a jarring mismatch.

You can make fun all you want about the cheesy 1960's styled look of the original series. But at least all the different rooms of that old TV Enterprise looked like they all belonged together on the same ship. JJ Abrams' ship looked like they gathered junk parts from a ship scrapyard and welded it all together piecemeal.
  7. As I recall the progress bars for some of those were kind of flaky and imprecise back when I was just trying the get them done on my Villains. It's very possible they'll be just as flaky in the post-GR game.

    Good luck regardless...

Not much. It's certainly at the bottom of my "badges I need to get" list.

I'm just saying that if all you need to do is "start" a CoP to get credit for it then there will probably be SGs out there that'll be encouraged to go through the motions of starting and dropping them a bunch of times. That's pretty much the very definition of the 'evil' kind of badge farming I thought the Devs were trying to discourage. Go figure. *shrugs*

All four alignments have their own unique power for reaffirming their status.
The details of those powers appear in the various GR player guides you can find here in the forums.

No there's no tailor in AP. But it's pretty easy now to go to the Vanguard Base entry portal in AP and get to the tailor that's in the RWZ Vanguard Base. Of course as I was pointing out earlier redside has no real equivalent to that, for what that's worth. *shrugs*
  11. Well again I don't mind that PayPal thought they were protecting me from something bad. The part that irks me is that their actions caused NCsoft to think I was trying to do something bad to them because they had no idea whether I authorized the reversal directly or not.

PayPal ought to be smart enough to warn you DURING the payment process that it thinks you are a trying to do something fishy (from say an unconfirmed location) so that it doesn't have to go through the motions of fully paying a 3rd party then reversing that payment at a later time. Until I am sure they would be able to deal with that kind of thing I'll never risk using PayPal away from home again.

Yeah you have to figure that maybe half of the items in question would never be workable for player characters for all sorts of reasons. But the other half should be on the list for consideration.

For my situation PayPal informed me via email of their concern about my transaction probably about a millisecond -before- they reversed the payment regardless of my desires. I guess you could call that a "warning" of their intent, but I'd call it an extreme overreaction. *sigh*

I just consider the whole thing a Lesson Learned...

Apparently I made the purchase from a loction that was not in my "known purchase loctions" so paypal freaked out and thought it was not legit, somehow told the CoH billing department and both my accounts were banned.

Finally got the issue resolved after 24 hours but still would have liked some notification other than "Your account has been suspended, this can possibly be due to <reasons that didn't help me and made me panic>"

I applaud paypal for taking proactive measures to protect against fraudulent activity, but it's kind of scary that they have a "profile" on me and can tell if a purchase is "not normal"

I also still don't get why CoX banned my accounts until the paypal issue was resolved.
Actually this same basic scenario just happened to me about a month ago.

I live in the US and have a confirmed PayPal address here. But I made the "mistake" of trying to use PayPal to buy the new Mutant Super Booster pack while I happened to be on a business trip in Japan. PayPal overreacted by assuming my legitimate purchase was fraudulent (due to the foreign IP I assume) and reversed the payment. NCsoft reacted to that by instantly banning my account (which by the way had been continuously active without interruption since before CoH Headstart). It took me several days to clear the mess up.

Like you I suppose I should be glad PayPal decided to be so "proactive" with protecting my account with them. But the whole situation has turned me against ever trying to use PayPal with NCsoft again for any purchase anywhere.

    NPC Costumes

I think the distinction in this case should be whether or not a costume item is truly unique to a single special NPC or if it is currently a generic NPC item.

Like Diggis said I would not expect to get something as unique as BAB's gloves. But anything that's currently "randomly generic" to non-named NPCs ought to be strongly considered as things player characters should have access to assuming there would not be major clipping issues or whatnot.
  16. I'd probably be safe in assuming that far fewer than 50% of the characters in the game make use of that "second build" feature. I'd bet there are a lot of people who don't even realize it exists. Heck even across all my alts I only have second builds on a few of them.

While I'm not technically against the idea of getting two freespecs at a time I suspect the Devs would never see the justification for it for all sorts of reasons. *shrugs*

Ultimately I'd like to have purchasable costume slots for characters like Champions Online provides.
People could use them for any purpose they wanted.

But if for some reason the Devs of this game can't/won't ever do that then as a lesser alternative I would not mind everyone getting a new dedicated "plain clothes" slot. Getting a new albeit limited costume slot would be (at that point) better than nothing.

When a character changes alignment away from the alignment of the SG (like if a Hero in a Hero SG becomes a Vigilante) that character is flagged as an "inactive" and loses the Super Leader red star if they had it.

If you're the only member in the SG you'd technically lose the red star rank but you'd also be "inactive" so you couldn't really use your base anymore anyway. If you go back to the original alignment you started at you'd be "reactivated" and since you'd become the only eligible active member to be the Super Leader you should get the red star back instantly.

Actually, as far as I know, the text is wrong. It is only attempts or group starts that count. Note that multiple players in the group doing the same CoP only counts as 1 attempt.
So you only have to "attempt" the CoP to work on that badge?
I know some badges are easier to farm than others, but a badge with a requirement like that is almost ASKING to be farmed.

    new AT: Pet

I could see this idea being more doable if they made it a new kind of general Power Pool instead of a Secondary Power set. That way you avoid the problem with "unique" power sets that couldn't be proliferated and you would open it up so that anyone could potentially have a "sidekick" pet if they wanted.

    2) Go to GV and buy a jetpack

Easy once you know how and yes im aware it requires a fully functioning base but if you do mishes in PO and get the jetpack from the bank its still doable
I don't think anyone was claiming it was impossible to make tailor changes on brand-new characters.
But I think most people would consider all the "hoops" you just described to be tedious at best.

Having tailors in tutorials and purchasable costume slots would change all that.

That's good to know. I guess you just have to keep getting Tips until this mission randomly comes up.

I guess that's the same case for the "Resistance is Futile" badge. Is it correct to assume there's some way (like via Tip missions) for prime earthers to get access to Resistance critters for this badge?

But even though I like Bruce Greenwood as an actor and Pike as a character he really doesn't deserve anymore screen-time than that.

P.S. Actually it'd be incredibly funny if during that "advice scene" Pike's wheelchair started beeping due to some malfunction and he says something funny to Kirk like, "yeah... this chair keeps doing that".
