You will not have done so the first time you "reaffirm" allegiance. You will have gained some standard Reward Merits (50, I think). Subsequent reaffirmations grant Hero or Villain Merits. It's in the patch notes.

So you have to run 2 morality missions to get your first alignment merit? That seems dumb... beyond dumb.

50 Merits is a nice reward for basically running newspaper missions so I'm not complaining too much. It just struck me as ... well... dumb. Why have two different rewards for the same thing?
I had some plans on my mastermind to get 2 alignment merits to buy a particular recipe. 22 missions seemed like a steep but acceptable cost... now it's 22 plus some cash. *shrugs* Ok. I think he has a metric ton of vanguard merits too so I'll look into that as well.

I played through my 10 tips and got a morality mission with my main character. It was my understanding that she would receive a hero merit for maintaining her hero status, but she didn't get one.
Is this a bug? Did I misunderstand? Or does one have to do an initial morality mission in order to set one's status officially, with subsequent morality missions then providing the hero merits?
