Some new missions and a few TF's/SF's would be a start.

Quote:My man, defined at lastIt's very simple. I am constantly amazed at how much trouble people have with this.
A farm is any type of mission, created by players or developers, of which I disapprove, or which is or can be played in a manner which I myself do not enjoy, and one which will provide me a basis for strutting on the forums in assumed rags of a trumpery moral superiority should I report it, or threaten to report it, or claim to have reported it.
I trust this is finally clear. -

Quote:Trust me. I would rather be judged by a 'merciless NCSoft employee' over a 'holier than thou' player every day of the week.
The merciless NCSoft employee would have to have a clear, understandable definition of what constitutes farming in order to avoid claims of bias and to prevent inconsistent application of the rules.
Other players generally just run around practicing cranial-fundament insertion and screaming to hear the echo, with zero consistent understanding of what constitutes a farm.
Seriously. Bring on these merciless NCSoft employees, because that would force the publishing and deliniation of what exactly a farm is, what a farm isn't, what punishments can be handed out, and exactly when each punishment applies.
No more of this "Well, we know it when we see it" garbage.
Well said. -
Everybody keep calm and lay down on the floor, we are recalling Sing for medication now
I didnt think his suggestions were that mental if you read it properly. -

Sometimes you just have to take matters in hand, and start the team yourself.

Seems quite a good idea to keep people subbed while they try CO to me.
Dont know if it will work or not.
As for beta access, id rather not try it before live, no point getting bored even quicker. -
Join Murders Unlimited, we dont care what ya do in bed. Or how ya dress to do it.

Sadly if the purists end up getting their way there will be 3 people left in the MA, because no one will use it.
Thats why Victoria, you are [censored] in the wind. More than anything this needs to be a popular, as in well populated add on and they aint going to do anything to flatten that.
They can do without another disaster at this time.

What's the point of having MA if there is only farmers, powerlevers and new people as victims who has no clue what's the CoH is all about.
MA is farmers paradise, notting else, most of others has allready stoped using MA's.
So, basicly I see as better option not to have MA than have them like they are now. Because it spoils the new commers. How ever, better option would be fix MA's so that they aren't just for farmers and powerlevelers.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree with you sort of, but i dont think the MA should have happened at all.
But now that it has, it just amazes me that people, and especially the devs seem surprised that this is how its ended up.
I remember the very FIRST day it was announced and the very First thought i had, and posted on here, was thats handy we can now make farms.
And for every creative genius there are 100 like me sadly, how else did they think it was going to end up being used.
And all im saying to you is (in my opinion) the devs aint going to radically change it, despite all the shouting and hooting they did about it being abused, because if they do alter it to the point where xp aint good, no one will use it, and they will have wasted a year developing another dead dog.
And thusly end up looking very silly again, at least now they can call it a success, because it is widely used. -

Don't forget about those who don't give a hootenanny either way any more Londoner.

Yea that would be me
I dont care what they do with it anymore. -
A bit off topic, but does anyone remember that fella that got the game running on a PDA? Via a bit of software.
I remember at the time someone saying they could get it going on an i Phone too.
Not perfect but i think that was ok to check the market and maybe create a char. -
See the way i see it, you got the JD type of people, realists.
And then you got the Victoria type people, i call them purists.

Well they made pvp a moot point when they [censored] it up for 90% of the people that did it.
As for being the weakest link, i cant ever remember anyone being dug out in a team for not having so and so set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Maybe they felt sorry for you
Seriously though I've never come across any stipulation by anyone that you need IOs in any TF.
Maybe a Master of... TF people might be expected to have a great build and to be fairly compotent (hence why I don't do em, the latter scuppers it for me) but it doesn't really matter otherwise.
[/ QUOTE ]
Bahhhhhh, there's nothing wrong with my builds, most of them anyway! -

Who were a small core of purple grinders. That's exactly the problem I'm talking about. PVP can't be got right _because_ there is no level playing field.

I did not suggest that that was the case.
That doesn't mean I don't enjoy being an effective and useful part of a TF team (and that means I end up five-Frankenslotting and generally spending more time in WW/BM). I also enjoy a stiff challenge from a TF - something I now get very rarely.

Oh well, so it goes, the game gets on my nerves at times too -

If nothing else IO's gave people something to do post 50 (and pre 50 as it happens) but either way i think they gave the game a bit of longevity for a lot of people.
[/ QUOTE ]
Traditionally post-50 one went back to Outbreak. But, let me be clear here, I've already said the decision to add them makes commercial sense; a lot of the MMO market clearly does want to press the lever for the food pellet all day.
[ QUOTE ]
Overall i think they were a very good addition to the game, because they are completely optional
[/ QUOTE ]
As mentioned, I don't really think that's the case, especially in PVP, but whenever you end up interacting with players with different levels of grindyness. No-one likes to be the weak link on the TF team, for example.

Dont take it all so personally mate, if you dont like IO's leave them alone, i cant see how they impact on your game to be honest. -

Overall i think they were a very good addition to the game, because they are completely optional, if you dont want to go the whole grind route, dont bother, if you do that's great.
