Well .. faceplanting every now and then can happen to the best of us.
Obviously, that silly light sword scrapper needed a better defender to heal his scrawny butt.
It really all depends on the team.
I have been on boss runs with tanks, where I was AoE nuking like mad, and nearly nerver got any aggro.
But on the opposite side, I have also been grouped with a level 50 tank that couldn't hold aggro when I used *nothing* else but my level 1 single target nuke! And that only sparingly. I don't mind faceplanting as long as it's not too often, but that was just silly.
That said, if there's another blaster on team, double the trouble, double the fun!
Double nukes = most bosses gone too!
In other words ....
.... NOOOOOOK EEEEET!!!

Yeah, but on a sidenote, you get to go and hear funkytown again.
-
You have Magic, Cyborg and Valkyrie on the same account ?
How did you manage that ? -

Stack those magnitudes, yes.
Even then, I'm sure I could design a Boss mob in AE that could resist you.
In most cases, it'll work though.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, Heck Yes it will work.
I have been in many AE missions where a boss not only was not held, they proceeded to moonwalk over to me and one-shot me.
I believe you.
[/ QUOTE ]
..... now I NEED to make an AV named Wacko Jacko, that can moonwalk all over the 'trollers!

I think Chain Control would be interesting.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll have to second this one.
If you think about it, it could be WAY cool!
Root = Chains shoot up from the ground and wraps around your feet.
Hold = The Controller throws a chain at you that wraps around you and hold you.
AoE root / hold, with a twist = A Chain snakes up from the ground and wraps around the controllers target, then more chains shoot out from the target and wrap around it's neighbours, from there more chains shoot out and grabs even more enemies! Say, target + 2 or 3 steps out would be a fair area. And if you are good at bundling them together, a lot can be hold. Limit the range a bit too.
But the animation would be wicked!
PBAoE knockdown = The controller crouches and turns around himself, extending a chain at ground height that swipes peoples feet out under themselves.
Pet = A large chain moving around like a Snake would look awesome.
Ranged Damage = Hit 'em with a chain like a whip!
Melee Damage = Wrap some chains around the hands and whollup them with some nice brawling moves!
Line Damage = Shoot a chain out of your hand that shoots out trough the trhong of enemies, hitting them in the way, delaing damage. Then draw it back into you, damaging them again ... perhaps add barbs to the chain for extra damage.
There is a lot of potential in Chain powers, if you ask me.
Would work great with a Huge Male figure, i think.
It would be a controller with NO subtlety!
Only flipside would be the enourmous amount of SPAWN clones, that would appear.
Now we just need the Devs to notice us. -
Darn straight ... that's what they were made for after all!
Y'know, going, walking and running! -
Oh man, even though this is an old thread, and he already have a costume, I now want to make a costume suggestion too!
I must be weird.

Woot! Congrats! Does this mean you are now going to Funkytown?
[/ QUOTE ]
Arrh .... you have now made me want to hear funkytown!
And I'm at work, so I cannot hear music ..
*twitch*
.. you ebil, EBIL person! -
Stack those magnitudes, yes.

Also, some have Integration ... just to make it even harder.

I haven't actually had a pure metal character since Beta, where I had an invulnerablity scrapper named Anker Steadfast. I used to go under that forum name too, but that account is now a long time inactive.
Here's two pics :
Anker Steadfast 1
Anker Steadfast 2
Sure does bring out old memories.
I still have a name holder character I haven't used since the first month after launch.
I really ought to play him some more. -
Damn ... now I have a picture of some tiny female and impish fire blaster, running around and putting capes on fire, just for the laughs.
.... you hear a giggle behind you and suddenly your cape is on fire!!
Hilarious. -

zzz-zzzZZzzzzzzzz..zzzzz.z.zzz -
I wonder if SpaceNut has even revisited the thread ?
No response from him.

"My arm! He cut of my arm!"
LOL!!!
As a broadsword scrapper, Little Missy often wonders how she's supposed to .. arrest, those pesky villains. -

Step 2: Go to Atlas Park. This is important, so pay attention. There are other zones, but they are without other heroes, so they are kinda scary. Stay in Atlas where there are lots of heroes to protect you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quote of the day !!!
Though it DOES hold a mote of truth.
Other zones are a bit creepy without any heroes in them.
Though for a solo roleplayer, that might be a plus.
Thank you for such an awesome post ... I think I'll have to try if it actually works.

What would be the best controller...
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm thinking an old school X-Box controller. You know, the really huge one that you could serve a pizza on?
[/ QUOTE ]
That DOES serve well for damage, just throw it at the boss and watch the pretty numbers.
On the subject, you always have three basic variants of groups, and you need to vary your playstyle to them :
-----------------
1) Damage, pewpewpew!!!!1!
They kill everything so fast, it's hardly dangerous.
This works extremely well, until an accident happens.
Really, n00blets love this type of group because of "the pRetTy numBars!1!1 LOL".
2) Debuffs galore.
Debuff the enemy until it's as dangerous as a drunk kitten.
Very strong tactic if you have a big team that is poorly equipped.
Not fast killing though, since it takes a bit of time to debuff.
Can be hard to explain to a n00blet to hold the damage until debuffs are in.
3) Buffed out the wasoo!
If yout tank/healer can take everything thrown at them, all you have to worry about is not getting aggro and deal damage. This can be achieved by good equipping or really good buffs. The advantage is that you can do the buffs between fights, and you are less prone to alpha-strikes from the enemy.
Also, by not having to debuff like mad, you deal damage from the get go, so it's faster killing than the pure debuff route. n00blets don't really understand these groups, since they get kicked all the time!
--------------
The best groups often have good damage, good buffs and a few debuffs thrown in, along with some crowd control to lower initial incoming damage. And that means .. knowing your own character, as well as the others.
Yeah .. it's almost like work. -

I went more for the high tech bit, rather than the medevil path.
Also, I figure that since he went on a rampage, he was not likely a grunt, so probably a bit up in the ranks at least .. perhaps an officer?
So, I used Tech Bot as a base, changed the face to a full tech helmet, which holds about the only color on the armor(apart from the Jewel on the chest and the cape), thus being the distinguishing feature of possibly his whole unit.
Changed the shoulders too, to some tech ones.
Oh .. and added a cape to show off rank, and a fire axe ... which, I for some reason really like. Maybe he simply grabbed the nearest fireaxe, if he was denied his nice plasma rifle ?
On to the pictures!
posing in the sunset
Front
Front - roar
Front - Axe out
From the side, cape flaring out
I think it's a relatively clean design, and you could probably both use it as a heroic character, and as a villain.
(he's likely a cold 'n' clinical [censored], no wonder he made officer)
Basically, a normally unimpressed and ruthlessly calculating character ... which the odd rampage thrown in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nice look, and welcome to the forums!
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, great costume.
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you both.
I especially like the last of the pics, it's almost iconic for the game itserlf.
Btw - I'm actually a bit of an old hand at this, but my old forum account was connected to my old beta game account, and that is inactive now .. so suddenly I could not post anymore! So I had to make a new forum account just for this game account.
Not that I ever posted much on the old one ... mostly I just lurked ... like .. a LOT!
I've been lurking for YEARS!
/ninja
On a sidenote:
I lightened the pictures, 'cause I just realized they sucked!
Now the details are much easier to see.
