Heh .. looking at this reminds me of my old Regen scrapper with 6 SO's in Stamina ... offcourse, that was made pre-ED.
(ED = Enhanchment Diversification nerf)
you wouldn't happen to be an old/new player that just returned, would you ? -
I wants a pink loading screen ... no joke.
-
Every single bit of a Fireblaster would have to be removed then.
And they are fairly popular.
-
It sorta makes sense that Fire has a bit more damage than the others though, since they have no status effect in them.
Basically, their "status affect" is more damage (aka, the Fire Dot).
Where as Ice for example, slows the enemy down quite a bit.
Which is better ?
I have no idea.
But I personally like ... more damage. -
Question :
If noone else from the SuperGroup is online, is it possible for an officer to invite one of his own Alt characters ? -
Whenever I start a team for a mission I know will be tough, I usually go for one healing defender, and one buffing or Debuffing defender. It's really amazing what such a combo can do if they have a good Tanker to hide behind.
And that's before adding Controllers or anything to the mix!
If I can get away with it, I usually have Tanker + Tanker + Defender + Defender + Controller + Blaster + Blaster + Scrapper for a real hard mission. Alternatively replace a Scrapper or a Blaster with a PeaceBringer or Warshade respectively.
So don't despair, there's much use for the odd sized defenders. -
I just love rants like this, when it's so blatantly obvious that PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!
Yup, it's that simple, really.
I work in IT support of the local phone company .. you should just hear some of the stuff that goes trough!
Really .. People are stupid!
It's a simple matter of fact.
They are unable to understand even the most basic of thinsg .. such as electricity .. or fire. -
Fire Tanks were great at dumpster diving, especially before the Purple nerf.
-
I'm sure I could not .. but then, I don't even know where to find one. *g*
-
I love my nuke .. combined with one blue inspiration and consume (or perhaps Rest, if they are all dead) - Makes it both fun and quite effective. And fun is what it's all about.
As for dying a lot, I don't even think I have a debt badge on my level 42 Fireblaster yet! And she's only *just* gotten the 100k Damage received badge (I think it's called Tough). So not everyone die a lot .. even if they do love to nuke!
On a sidenote :
I do remember a Target cap being added, but how many is it at ?
I've forgotten! -
So, as long as you can keep the attack chain up, indefinately, it will give you a modifier of 2.3433, except for the first round of the chain where you build it up the first time.
Gotcha.
Is this with Hasten up or not?

We're referring to how you're adding the DoT incorrectly. It's not an 80% chance for the 5 ticks of 14.08. Each tick has an 80% chance to occur and allow the DoTs to continue to occur. The first tick has an 80% chance to occur, The second tick has a 64% chance to occur, and so on.

Is this chance a hardcoded chance, or is it influenced by +Accuracy ?
Inspirations ?
Buffs ?
Aim ? -

I think we should do 3 categories if we do AoE:
AoE while solo (3-5 mobs)
AoE average (5-10 mobs)
AoE max (10-cap mobs)
the big problem I see is the target cap for cones and TAoEs being vastly different...
[/ QUOTE ]
3-5 is indeed a typical amount in a mission.
Particular 3, I see a lot of 3 man groups in solo missions.
When I group, I usually have a Tank with me, the number of MOBs around a tank is in the area of 8-12 or so ... they have trouble with pathing if there is more. 10 is possible though, so I think that is a good arbitrary number to go with for ordinary group play.
As a fireblaster, I can say with confidence, that generallt, I can fit a "Tanker Group" into any and all of my Cones and PBAoE spells with ease - Burn and Fire Sword Circle as the only exceptions.
I rarely have more than 15 MOBs in any single given location though, and so, I don't think numbers over that is interesting.
I propose, for the sake of number crunching that we have the following target groups :
1
5
10
15
To see how they scale, it is good to increase liniearly.
Also, we have to note, that this is only one application of one spell, run for it's full duration. Not all burning affects might stack with each other, some might, some might not, and if a spell recharges faster than the burning affect, it could do less than it's optimal damage ... though I don't think that will be interesting with AoE spells, since they generally have low recharge.
On a single target power like Blaze though ... it might just make a difference that the recharge might cut off the burning affect.
And finally a tab for 3 targets as well, since that is what we often see in a mission. -
I am currently infected with WORK, though I have managed to stabilize it somewhat by holding up a cross to the BOSS and chant "The power of Christ compels you!" repeatedly, and then hitting him with the cross.
I'm feeling better already and I think that the BOSS might cure me of my WORK real soon.
-
Ah well .. some of use just need infamy *and* influence, full stop.
I wish I had more than a million.
Ah well. -
Time control has one major problem though ... it's really, REALLY hard to visualize time. Which means no graphics ?
As some might have guessed from my earlier post, that's why I want a Chains powerset .. it would be awesome looking. -

Correct, I forgot to call it a "power" / " spell ".
[/ QUOTE ]
Uh-oh...now you must return to the backline with the healers for using the word "spell".

Whyyyyyyyyyyyy ? -
I think the most interesting bit here, is that we will be able to set the level of the mission, say, one level under ourselves .. and then as a 8 players.
That way you would get large amounts of blue con minios/ltds in a standard mission .... perfect for a Fireblaster with Firebreath / Fireball .... the exp would come FAST, due to the enourmous amount of defeated enemies, even if they are lower levels.
That's how my blaster used to level in Hazard zones .... though that was with an assault rifle / devices blaster ..
*sneak in with invis*
*put down landmine*
*back up, get ready for Full Auto*
BOOM!!
Ra-ta-ta-tat!!
Snipe off the boss
Next group!
It was fast exp for it's time. -

When people say "Nuke" in this game, generally they mean Inferno, Nova, Thunderous Blast, or some other Tier 9 power that does tremendous damage and drains your endurance.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, true .... I usually also do that, but I had a relapse and started calling everything "nuke", including my shoes and my cat!

my level 1 single target nuke
[/ QUOTE ]
Must be referring to Ice Blast.
[/ QUOTE ]
Correct, I forgot to call it a "power" / "spell".
Even so, I really shouldn't have drawn aggro from any tank ... yet I did.
Sometimes, I didn't even have to touch any of the enemies and they still got aggro on me.
My guess is there might be a bug where some of the aggro from a fire tank may be transferred to a Fireblaster. -
On a sidenote - I wonder why I see so few Ice trollers around ?
I have an Ice/Empathy 'troller myself, and it rocks.
And it's not just "rocking the aura" either .. -
Uhhhhhhh ..... my Ice/empathy controller is gonna pack all her enemies into candy pink flavored iceicles!!
Now, if only they'll let her blow kissies at the boss like Jessica Rabbit, she'll be set! -
I approve of this thread .. even though it makes my head hurt!!
Anyways, I was a bit surprised at some of the numbers.
I have a Fire/Fire blaster myself, with hasten flung in.
And when I saw that Ring of Fire had such damage potential, I waggled my eyebrows, I did!
Also, I took notice that Firebreath only need 3-4 targets in order to be competitive with the best single target spells!
Most interesting.
... and now I shall go sooth my poor head with cookies.
