  1. An Oceanic hero knows that when you've gotta eat in a hurry stop by your closest Bunnings for a sausage sizzle, to fill your tummy and support the local children's sports.

I've only got one Oceanic-themed character, naturally a villain. He's a Circle of Thorns mage named Myeros the Exiled who was exiled to Aotearoa. He is known to the Maori as Maero.

  3. Never played on Virtue ever. I started on Freedom, but was lured to Justice and never looked back.
  4. Tonight it's the Lady Grey Task Force, starting as usual at 20:30. Minimum level is now 45 unfortunately.

When the Rikti attack at the end, we'll hope it happens in a villain zone, and we'll rush there to hunt GMs and fight Rikti at the same time. (Hopefully.)

Can take a break at any time to do Halloween stuff if people are interested.
  5. Yes, somewhere in NC a manager is getting heat for slipping some "low risk" fixes into the halloween frequency patch. Turns out they weren't so low risk and the servers are unstable. Could someone give them a poke for me too, I know this behaviour far too well.

  7. Tonight's extra maintenance is at the old time, we are being heard.
  8. Thanks for the post Ocho. I'm glad to hear that we are considered in any discussions about additional maintenance.

But mostly, I appreciate that you have changed the start time for tonight's extra maintenance ( ) to two hours later, back at the old time.
  9. I realised too late my poor choice of words. I shan't guess what would truly make Final happy, and I wouldn't wish it upon all of the console gamers.

That aside, a redname has posted in this forum already. They are aware, and they did change to support us. It's clearly still worse than it used to be, but hopefully we'll have consistent Tuesdays and Thursdays in coming days.

It's not great, but I'm trying to make do.
  10. In case I ever find the time to resuscitate this, here's another one:

Stone Spears can be activated on flying targets and knock them down, but it does no damage.
  11. I think what would make Final happy would be to have patches on Tuesday if at all possible (I think this is the current system), and to have several days advance warning of maintenance on any day other than Tuesday or Thursday.

    So what's new?

Castle did say it wasn't "Working as Intended" but he also never said it was an exploit. Sorry no reference, too lazy to track down something that old.
  13. That would have been my guess. Do you have a reference Quat? Any idea how this interacts with GMs?
  14. Hi Justice, us crazy Oceanics have hatched a scheme (ok it was just me) to try and have a Rikti invasion and Zombie invasion simultaneously in the same zone. We'll be doing this next Wednesday in our evening, so early morning in the US, and of course, the more the merrier! We'll be mainly in the Rogue Isles because us Oceanics are just like that.

The goal will be to have as many teams running the Lady Grey Task Force as possible, but to hold off on finishing it. (Leave one person on the last map with a single intact pylon thingy, preferably a dual-boxer.) The rest of the players go and wait at Granny Beldam with their Halloween salvage (or start a new Lady Grey if they want). When the announcement comes for a supernatural event (or rolling Zombie invasion) we finish off those Lady Greys, and hand in the salvage, cross our fingers, and watch that event channel carefully.

With the smaller number of zones, we're more likely to have luck in the Rogue Isles anyway. I'll be starting at 20:30 Aussie Eastern time which is 04:30 US Eastern time, and I have no idea when the plan will bear fruit.
  15. Maintenance tonight, the event is cancelled. Sorry everyone.

Next week we will do Lady Grey, and I'll organize costume salvage and everything else also. I'll post on Justice forums to maybe get a little more support behind the stacked invasions.

Thanks for the summary Ditzy, it helps a lot.

This reminds me of another unresolved point. You spoke of a buff to Domination's recharge based on team size. Now, I have zero recollection of such a buff, I only remember a buff to filling the Domination bar based on team size. I cannot believe that I would forget about such a thing, nor that I would not notice it or consider it in my builds. So, I have no choice but to deny its existence without further proof. Could you find some sort of reference to it?

Point2. Any dominator in a team with permadom 1 or 2( 160% or 180%)experienced periods of triple stacks with a higher damage ratio than the current domination formula. This basiclly means that any dominator in a full team or in a 4man team with a kin on board contributed more damage without the end penalty.
The big thing here is that previously Fulcrum Shift was wasted, but now the Dominator can really take advantage of it. The optimum playstyle has definitely changed.

Dominator's used to be the end game. They aren't any longer.
This I can sympathize with, and is mostly to do with the change to PSW.

I apologize for being rude to Min but the comment about " exploit crowd" hit me the wrong way.
Fair enough. He was being inflammatory.

Point 3. I don't really care about the adjustment to psw. Bottomline is outside of pvp dom's got less powerful in the hands of a fast paced player.
This is within the confines of points 1 and 2 above, right?

    So what's new?

Welcome back Ditzy, we had an unfinished discussion about this. I'd really love it if you could give a short (3-line) summary of what exactly were the negative consequences of the recent Dominator changes. Or perhaps a list of 2 or 3 separate short points. If you're having trouble expressing it in so little space, then you could PM me something longer and I'll try and reduce it down to a few lines. I'm actually quite serious because I'm interested to understand your perspective. (Pretend that I haven't read all of your previous posts.)

That said, from memory the negative consequences were:
    • Dominators who typically had the Domination buff stacked for a significant period of time, and didn't have any damage buffs.
    • Players lost a high end-goal to aspire to.

    Peace Man//woman. No offense intended.
If you don't intend offense, then you'd be best not acting offensively.
  19. If you've actually listened to Aussies speaking you might suspect that most of the posts are moderated away.
  20. I'm not quiet.

One of the reasons is that this forum is very new. We're also quite acclimatized to using SG forums.
  21. Do you need any help bootstrapping the sginvite process?

I'm guessing you'll use Defenders of the Southern Cross for this.
  22. No inside information, just a will to break it. CoV only has a few zones, so it'd be easy to fill them all up with events, but unfortunately the Rikti attack can happen on either side.
  23. Well that worked out pretty well. Eight of us did the Renault SF in 90 minutes, and then we followed it up with some Halloween activities, culminating in a successful shutdown of "Supernatural activities".

How would people feel about a "Rikti vs. Zombies" thing next week? We kick off a bunch of Lady Grey Task Forces, and queue up some alts with Halloween salvage. When the supernatural event starts we complete the Lady Greys and hand in the salvage and hope to get some zone event overlap.
  24. Yes, I thought of that when I realized the event was active. The new badges seem to require a fair number of people, so perhaps we'll do a shorter SF and then move on to Halloween stuff. In the past it was hard to do badge hunting at the beginning because of the way Jack in Irons spawns, but it seems there's plenty of other stuff this year.
  25. This week we'll be doing the Operative Renault Strike Force, levels 25-30, meeting in Sharkhead Isle.

If that's not your cup of tea, there will almost certainly be other opportunities as well since we always have many more than 8 people. See you there.
