Nice job Hirsh. Good idea making the vid at double speed too. Nice to see that Ice Control can deliver despite the long activation time on Block of Ice.
I've only watched the Lumi video so far (slow download), and it looked like you had a very solid hold on her. I'm curious to hear how Ghost Widow goes for you. My biggest issue was that she has a few attacks which could one-shot me with their DoT. The healing back up again was a definite pain also. -
Yes, there are an awful lot of updates, and I've not been prioritizing this lately.

Recipe for a hard-fought Silver Mantis SF:
1] Full team of 8 with 2 stalkers.
2] Don't bother understanding the new SSK system with respect to leaders of SFs and get stuck at level 24 for the whole SF.
And most importantly:
3] Get stuck with strange Turret spawning in the final mission which replaces all of the regular turret minions (except pop-ups) with Boss turrets - the Incendiary ones. Few of us can stand up in the face of two of these Boss turrets, let alone 4 or 5 of them, with their huge range.
Of course, best to do do this after doing a Virgil Tarikoss SF with a team of 8 also.
If anyone else has more information on turret spawning in this SF I'd be interested to hear.
So, we had a good night, with 3 SFs running last night.
I'm not sure what will happen next week, or if I'll be able to play even. -
Quote:The more events the better as far as I'm concerned!I would like to note that I realise that a lot of regular events are now being organised again (largely on Justice) and this proposed new weekly team event isn't designed to disrupt those teams/events - It's designed to add an additional option for Oceanic players.
-
It's worth mentioning that both DUNCE and the X8 have space for two more people to join. There are also non-RP events 3 nights a week on Justice that are open to all-comers.
-
Absolutely. At this time of year it's only a one hour difference between Hawaii and New Zealand (well 23 hours strictly speaking). If you want to get in touch in-game join global channel Australia.
We have plenty of events going and supergroups to join, almost exclusively on Justice. -

Hi everyone, the last few weeks have seemed very maintenance-free to me, with the one weekly on Thursday and minimal patching on Tuesdays. The sneak-preview/test of the Christmas event in particular seemed to be very well orchestrated to not disrupt.
So, how are you finding the impact of the new maintenance schedule? -
Pre I15 Icy was so endurance intensive that it was very difficult to run Hot Feet for very long at all, and certainly not permanently. I'm not sure how it is now, but be prepared to have to turn Hot Feet off and on a lot.
Fire Cages doesn't need all those slots, a single accuracy is often enough, or you could add an end reduction too if you wanted.
Smoke is autohit in PvE, so the accuracy enhance only makes a difference in PvP.
Hot Feet can't be activated while in flight, so Hover is kind of a pain with Fire/.
Bonfire's damage is negligible, so just leave it with a single slot of recharge reduction.
I'd take some slots out of Poisonous Ray and Scorpion Shield, they would be more useful in your attacks.
Hope that helps. -
It wasn't a speed SF, but we had plenty of fun and most of us gained a level. But best of all was watching the Longbow ambushes, for a team of 8, pile up in the 5th mission. I definitely prefer the full frontal attack over pulling, but sometimes it's just not reasonable. Check it out:

Since last week most of us made it to level 15, tonight we'll do the Virgil SF. It'll be a slow one with low level characters earning XP. Minimum level is 15. If we have more than 8 players we'll just split up and do several simultaneously.

You've exactly described what I find fun about playing a Dominator. I love to jump around and constantly assess the situation and make decisions. An AT with which you just run in and sequentially defeat all of the enemy depending on your passive defences I find terribly boring.
As for AoE attacks, in the higher levels you can definitely use them for minions, once your AoE mezzes last long enough. -
Quijon's exactly right on this point. Use your single target attacks to eliminate the rest of the spawn while you're keeping the boss held. Depending on AoE damage to defeat the minions means you're taking a lot more damage from them.
-
They both need to be fixed. The Flyer needs to hang around longer, or give a 10 minute warning prior to arrival, because it's too difficult to mobilize a team within the given timeframe. Caleb needs to be easier to find when he does spawn because there's nothing more frustrating than seeing the spawn message, and then not being able to find him.

For the record, when I15 was on test I did it in 25 minutes. The few extra mag from Seismic Smash would certainly be welcome. Animation times and the absence of a self damage buff would be the deciding factor.

8 of us harnessed our inner demons last week. This week we'll be doing something a little more XP-oriented. We'll start with the Plaguecarrier badge mission, "Deliver the canisters of Outbreak" which is a great experience in the 10-15 level range. After that we can move on to some other missions in Cap au Diable, perhaps doing the Paragon of Vice badge mission if I can lay my hands on it.
-
Curses, I liked the disoriented animation. Made it more obvious the enemy was held in some cases. (Dominate, I'm looking at you.)

After last Wednesday, Eochai must have been glad that Halloween was over, too bad that Jack of Irons wouldn't come out to play. Next Week:
Demonic Accolade
We'll get together and earn the Demonic Accolade. I've got the badge mission ready on one of my characters, so we can include characters below 25. If you're interested, particularly with a lower level character, then let me know because spots may be tight on the badge mission.
We'll start at 20:30 with the history and explore badges, then move on to the defeat badge and end things with the badge mission. (And probably repeat the history and explore badges for latecomers!) -
Kiwi heroes fumigate their spandex every time they fly back into the country.
-
Tonight is the last night of Halloween, so let's tackle Eochai and Jack in Irons, with a Banner run if we can handle it. All levels welcome for this activity since we'll do it in Mercy Island.

Which reminds me: Oceanic heroes know timezone conversions for at least a dozen timezones!

Quote:You're right that Paragon City is in the States, but the OP is asking about heroes in other cities of the world. The fact that there are super-powered people all over the world is mentioned in the canon.I'm a little surprised at the OP it was my understanding that Paragon City is supposed to be somewhere near Rhode Island. Is that just the backstory for those of in the USA and they put it somewhere else for each country?
And of course super-villains, with crimes such as the pea-floater.
