Quote:Don't think TM violation is the problem... the problem is that Iron Man has a bit of super strength, a power blast, AND protective armor. Trying to do that sort of thing in the current power set up isn't going to happen, though I would like to have that option. Same goes for generally hand to hand characters that have some ranged attacks (Capt America throws his sheild, Thor throws his hammmer - and if you really piss him off will bring lightning into play, Superman has lasers coming out of his eyes, etc.Iron Man-esque weaponized suits. (Although that might be hard to make into a power set in addition to being a potential TM violation waiting to happen.)
I would also love Metal Armor/Metal Melee powersets.
And Light Blast.
Personally, I'd like to see a new Archetype that would support such concepts. Yes, there is Boxing for Blasters, but I've tried it, and frankly found that it's pretty useless. -

True, everything but the quiver has something that will kinda work as stand ins.
I looked at the backpack option, and just couldn't see any of them working for me. (Yes, I'm a bit picky about these things.) -
One of the things that bugs me when I play my characters with bow n arrow powers is the lack of a proper quiver. Add in a few other things, like archery gloves, arm guards, perhaps a nice tunic for a medieval look, and you have a good start on a costume set.

Quote:Just to throw my own thought into that... it would be kinda fun if we could put statues of our characters in our own super bases.Statues based off of players has been pooh pooh'ed before - and for good reason. Imagine sore losers having to be constantly reminded that their character didn't become a statue.
Rather, I'd prefer to see statues of different types (I hate modern sculptures but even those would breathe some life into the zones vs the old cement mold statues we have.)
I've seen similar things in other MMOs... -
I like the idea of sandals, but would like to see it as a part of a package costume deal. We already have roman military and gladiator costume pieces, why not bring in togas and senatorial robes? Would it really be too much to ask for a full line of Roman clothing?

I'm only on a year and a half. Took me this long to get a computer that could handle the game, and now have 3 that can manage it. (Thank you, referbs)

I'll second the idea of a new Fencing specific animation, as a power set. Asking for 3 different styles, however? Think that's a bit much.
This is something I LIKE, rather than expect to see. I have a friend who's a big Hawkeye fan, and while he enjoyed the new Avengers movie, he couldn't help but go on about how in the movie, and in the comics, Hawkeye seldom uses proper archery techniques. The existing sword powers do an OK job for what they are.
CoH replicates super hero/comic book action. Expecting it to replicate real life combat? Probably not gonna happen. -
Just being able to change the color scheme of the pets would be wonderful. I doubt that we'll ever see full scale customization.

So far, what I've done with First Ward, I've enjoyed more than any other story arch I've done. As far as the contacts not recognizing you, I've always gotten the feeling that FW is set in another dimension, so these characters are mirror images of those you knew before, not actually the same person.
I've enjoyed the plot twists, the not really knowing who is on what side... it's all a matter of taste, I suppose. -
OK... setting aside the number crunchers, because I don't play that game...
What I'm seeing is that people either love or hate the aesthetics of Stone Melee. That is my reason for having not run one so far. What I like, for the most part, is playing super heroes, and SM animations look more Anime to me than what I want.
That said, running a character that can turn to stone works perfectly well with Super Strength and Invulnerability from my perspective. -

For role playing purposes it's nice sometimes to sit in the chairs and couches in our Bases. Doing so, however, is a bit of a pain... you have to position yourself just right, then use the right sit emote.
Any chance of adding a bit of script that would allow one to click on a chair and automatically sit in it?
Just a thought...
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place. -
I'm not going to crunch numbers, and get confused when others do. The character I have using staff is doing quite well, thank you very much. At level 3 he was able to take on level 5 minions with out any problems.
Yes, it takes a little longer to put opponents down, but the defensive bonuses that the staff offers seems to off set this quite nicely. -
I like the idea, but the execution is a bit off for me. Rather than doing insects, birds, canine and feline all in one power set I would have rather have seen them divided up.
Insect Mastery could have started with Summon Bees up to Giant Wasp.
Birds could go from Bluejays (anyone ever have a bluejay nest outside your front door?) to Roc... or giant eagle.
Canine could have gone from German Shepards up to Dire Wolf.
Feline could have started at Lynx and gone up to Saber Toothed Tiger.
Of course, then there would have been the issue of which to release first... -
Personally, I'd like a bit of control on the look of the pets in the Mastermind's control. Being able to at least pick color schemes would be nice.
